La Pomme d´Or is a charming, comfortable and independent 18th century gîte in a small village in the land of the Futuroscope. The large garden is wonderful with lot of trees, bushes and flowers. Here you will find several places with tables, chairs, parasols and BBQ facilities. The garden offer a relaxing and calm atmosphere and it is easy to find your own hiding-place. You will also find a playground for children and a swimmingpool in the garden.

Resident owners on site to assist if needed. English and some French and German spoken.

La Pomme d'Or also offer table d'hôtes (dinner on request). When cooking we use local seasonal products and vegetables and fruits from our own garden.

The guesthouse is the original farmhouse, carefully restored with oak beams and old tile floors in the kitchen and lounge. The kitchen is very well equipped and renovated 2014. In the kitchen there is a woodburning stove. The spacious lounge has 2 comfortable sofas and several armchairs.. On the first floor are there 3 bedrooms. In bedroom 1 there are 1 double bed and a bunk bed, in bedroom 2 there is a double bed and in bedroom 3 there are 2 single beds. Bed linen and towels are included. There are two shower rooms with WC which have been renovated 2011.

About Eva-Lotta & Peter Roovete

We are a Swedish couple in our best age who found this paradise by accident. We realized immediately that this was what we wanted to do the coming years. So we sold what we had in Sweden, finished our jobs and packed our belongings. We have not regretted us for a second, this is the best we have done.

Why Eva-Lotta & Peter Roovete chose Vienne

When we saw the garden with trees, greenery and flowers, we were in love instantly. The beautiful old stone buildings have a lovely charm and it is quiet and peaceful yet close to neighbors and commerce.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The area offers many experiences and we are not far from the coast nor Cognac or the Loire Valley. We feel that our property is strategically located in a wonderful region that is less touristic and busy.

A haven away from a busy world

The Guest House is a well equipped, spacious house - perfect for a large family.

The gardens and pool area are beautiful - so peaceful.

The surrounding area is quiet and 'non touristy'.

A lovely place to have a pleasant holiday

A cosy guesthouse with lots of places to enjoy the garden, the pool, the surroundings. Our children, aged 3 and 5, had a wonderfull time! There is enough to do in the area (you'll need a car though). Eva-Lotta and Peter are very friendly and willing to help make your holiday a succes. We would love to come back again to discover more about the area. The guesthouse, our home for two weeks with 8 persons, was a very pleasant place to stay!

Semaine formidable!

Chez Eva et Peter, nous ne sommes pas des hôtes mais des amis. Tout est fait pour se sentir bien et c'est le cas! Relation basée sur la confiance et le respect, c'est rare et tellement appréciable.

Un jardin rempli de petits lieux agréables : terrasses, potager, hamac, piscine, préau avec bar à disposition, banc, portique, salon de jardin avec pergolas... Une maison fraîche, grande et une cuisine super bien équipée. Eva et Peter son très discrets mais toujours prêts à répondre à nos demandes. On était entre frères et soeurs adultes et on était vraiment bien chez vous, une vraie maison de campagne, une maison d'amis.

Fantastic property with a cosy garden

High level of service and flexible hosts, very nice breakfast and dinner and a lot to do in the neighbourhood. The pool area is great and an extra plus for the freezer/fridge with ice cream and cold drinks. We can really recommend to book your holiday here at this fantastic place.

The village is well situated between la Forêt de Mouliére, the largest forest in the department of Vienne and the river Vienne, both easy to reach even on foot. There are detailed maps to help you visit the forest walking, cycling or horse riding. The northern part of the forest is a national park. You can fish in the river, bath and rent canoes. You can shop at the butcher´s and at picturesque markets or stores in nearby towns. There is a lunch restaurant and a bar in our village. The cities of Poitiers, Chatellerault and Chauvigny all within a 20 minutes drive are interesting old cities full of history, Roman art and medieval charm. Within easy reach there are several beautiful castles and good restaurants. In the neighbourhood you can visit good local vineyards and goat cheese- and foie gras producers. Le Futuroscope, the famous film- and adventure park is only 15 minutes drive away. The leisure park of St Cyr has a lake for swimming, windsurfing, sailing & an excellent golf course
