Wonderfully maintained home in Southwestern Ireland
We visited for two weeks. Mary greeted us with a bottle of wine and delicious Irish bread. We had email and her phone number to call if we needed but never had any issues. The home is nicely maintained. As the weather varied, we were able to use the fireplace some nights and enjoy open windows on other days. The setup with bedrooms on two floors allows privacy for two couples who want to share. The village of Waterville has restaurants, pubs, food stores, and butcher. Our favorite restaurants were Dooleys and Smugglers Inn. Although the weather wasn't warm enough for us to go to the beach to swim, we did enjoy walking before or after dinner. Highlights of our trip were boat to Skellig from Port Magee, driving the Ring of Kerry, Dingletown (children loved the aquarium), Sneem attractions (O' Connell home), and visiting Valentia Island (holy well there). There is so much to do as a day trip that you can't possibly do it all. We had wifi with our rental car which I would highly suggest if you have children or multiple heavy users. It's portable and you can carry inside home or attractions. I would definitely recommend this home. This was our 4th time using Home Away having been to Cape Cod and SJVI and we are very satisfied using the site.
Beautiful and spacious
We had such a great time at this house in Waterville. The house is beautiful and had everything you need. It is only a five minute walk to the beach snd town and there is so much to do around the area. And Waterville is a very beautiful scenic area. I would recommend staying here to anyone.. We would go back again
Great house in Waterville
Had a lovely stay in this house in Waterville. Mary the owner was so accomodating and extremely helpful. The house is very well equipped in fact it is the best holiday home we have stayed in in that respect! The weather was pretty gloomy during our stay so it was nice to have a comfortable house to return to. Our kids made friends with some other kids staying in a holiday home close by so that really entertained them. All in all a great holiday in waterville!
Excellent Stay in Beautiful Waterville Home
Just returned from a wonderful Summer vacation in South West Kerry, using Mary's home in Waterville as our home base. Consistent with the other 16 - 5 Star reviews/ratings, I would give it a 5 as well! The owner is sweet and kind and very helpful and caring...the yard is well kept, gas grill for cooking, house is clean and pretty with the exposed wood beams, beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has the amenities one would hope for, the fireplace is a working fireplace, house is at the end of a cul-de sac, so limited traffic.
The home is close to the center of town and some excellent restaurant and pubs, the beach is close by for a nice walk or pretty viewing, grocery stores, meat market and in proximity to some good golf courses. The location was perfect for Derryname, Caherdaniel, Kells, Smeed, etc breath taking scenery visits
I highly recommend this home and the owner was very pleasant and enjoyable to work with - Slainte Mary!
lovely house in waterville
We had a lovely stay in Waterville. The house was huge, clean and in near two amazing golf courses. Owner was very kind and helpfull. If you have kids: be aware of internet use. The internet card Mary bought you runs out fast when your kids watch video's through the internet. We know now...
Wonderful Home in Waterville
This home in Waterille was a fantaststic place for our group to base or golf trip to Ireland. We put 6 adults in the house and had no issues with privacy or space. The house is clean and bright and we all felt very welcome in the home. Mary was great and gave us a warm Irish welcome and made sure everything was in order for our group. Definately like to go back.
