This property is professionally managed by Anna Maria Island Accommodations, located on the sunny and beautiful Anna Maria Island.
We had a wonderful vacation at La Hacienda. Our 3 and 5 year old grandchildren were along and they loved the swimming pool. We were a little concerned about the pool and the canal being there and two little ones who could not swim. The back deck had a gate to latch so they could be outside, but it made it more difficult for them to get to the water. We could keep an eye on them from the living room and kitchen while they were on the deck. They had to wear life jackets as the pool is too deep for them.
The place is even nicer than the pictures -the back yard is awesome, the kitchen is well stocked, it is secluded and along a back street with very little traffic. The main noise was a day care across the canal, but if you don't mind hearing kids having a great time than it should be no problem. It is close to unique restaurants and shops. Close to the beach and the bay. With chairs and children we found it easiest to drop everyone and their stuff off at the beach entrance and then take the car back to the house and the driver ride a bike back out to the beach.
There were plenty of beach toys and chairs available and 2 children life jackets when we were there.
We rented 3 bikes and 2 kayaks and a paddle board for the week. The bikes got used a lot but were disappointed that you can't go far on the canal with the kayaks because there is a road but no bridge under it. If you put in on the other side of the bridge (looked like a very narrow overgrown trail down to the water from the road) then you can kayak to the bay but not from the house so we did not use the kayaks much.
Since the main living area is up a flight of stairs this place would not be good for handicapped people or anyone who has problems using the stairs.
We would definitely stay here again. The island is so nice. No chain restaurants or stores.
The house is laid out nice with lots of room to be together with everyone or have some time alone.
Steps from the Historic Pine Ave District and all of its great shops, eats, and treats!
