About Amy & Rod Lamb
My husband and I are both in customer service industries and we look forward to helping you have the most enjoyable and relaxing vacation possible. We were both born and raised in the Duluth area and moved south to the Minneapolis area to try and gain a few extra weeks of summer. I am a Realtor so if you fall in love with Fish Lake and the Mora area I can help you find your very own dream cabin!
Amy & Rod Lamb purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Amy & Rod Lamb chose Mora
We rented a pontoon boat for last July 4th and after a few hours on Fish Lake we realized that it was the perfect lake for us. We started looking at cabins immediately and were thrilled to find the perfect one for us within a month.
What makes this Cabin unique
The three decks and the gorgeous views of the lake are definitely the highlight of this charming, cozy cabin. From the time you exit your vehicle and walk down the steps to the cabin you will feel your blood pressure going down.

Great Fishing! Super friendly and helpful hosts!
Great MN week at the cabin! Convenient from the cities and easy to find. Close to Mora so easy to get essentials if needed.
Our boys caught LOADS of fish right off the dock and our oldest caught a 26” Northern trolling on their paddle boat. Rod even came over to help us fillet it. He was super patient coaching our son on what to do. Delicious!
We had beautiful weather and our boys enjoyed playing in the water right off the dock. Our only downside was that their pontoon was not working and in the shop to be fixed. The paddle boat and canoe were still good to use though. 👍😊
Thanks Amy and Rod!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay Heather, you were wonderful guests. You did luck out on the weather for sure, and I think that Northern was the biggest one we have had any guest reel in. Rod enjoyed helping your son fillet the fish, he said he caught on very well. Definitely the biggest fish anyone has caught off the paddle boat! I still can't believe they pulled it all the way back to the dock without losing it! The cabin was neat as can be when you checked out....thank you! You're welcome to stay again any time!

Beautiful and Relaxing
Quiet and private cabin on beautiful land and lake. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay. Has everything you could want in a Minnesota cabin. Blew away expectations.
Disconnect from world, unwind and reconnect with my loved ones
Before even arriving at the cabin, you already have a sense of great welcome from the owners! Once you get there, the worries of the world melt with the view and comfortableness of the home.
The home is situated just far enough away from the BIG city, close to the quaint city of Mora and miles and miles away from stress!
The home was equipped with everything we needed for our stay.
We LOVED taking the boat out to fish and cruise around to see all the beauty Fish Lake has to offer. Incredible views, wildlife a plenty and our kids loved swimming in the cool water.
I would suggest spending a day in Mora. It really is full of charm. If we are in the area again, we would do it all over again!!!
We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay Becky - you were wonderful guests and we would welcome you back any time! Although we are available if need be, we try not to disturb our guests during their stay and it makes me a bit sad sometimes to not get a chance to meet the wonderful guests who stay our cabin. So thanks for texting me the picture of your family on the pontoon - it was very nice to put faces to names!

Great location & Pontoon Boat was nice
Had a great time (except for the mosquitoes). Cabin was clean and well-maintained.
This wonderful cabin offered exactly what our family was looking for-a quiet and relaxing getaway! We were thrilled with the critter sightings: Bald eagles, hummingbirds, frogs, herons, squirrels, catbirds, geese, ducks, finches, turtles, loons, chipmunks...we never knew what was going to show up next! The view from all of the decks is a real treat, too. Bring your binoculars! We were so glad we did as we used them regularly to watch the eagles soaring over the lake. Our family of four was very comfortable with the space in the cabin, and when our son drove up to visit for a few days there was plenty of room for him as well. We appreciated having the master bedroom upstairs with its own deck. There was a nice selection of dvd's, magazines, and games there for our use as well as plenty of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dishes, etc... Rod and Amy were perfect hosts, very attentive to what our needs might be, even checking to be sure we were okay when some weather was rolling though. The lake itself is a great lake to kayak on and the kids enjoyed swimming off the pontoon. The closest town, Mora, is just minutes away and has everything you might need, a nice grocery store, charming shops and such friendly people. The only negative thing I can say is that it's too easy to fall in love with this place and not want to leave! We would definitely recommend Island View to our family and friends.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We try and do everything we can to accommodate our guests needs but there are some things that are out of our control...like weather:) You and your family were real troopers during the "monsoon" and my husband and I are blown away by your positive attitude about life - it's a blessing you are lucky to have. We would love to have you stay again anytime!
Cozy and Comfortable!
We have stayed in this cute little cabin twice now. Such a cozy place on such a beautiful lake! Having the pontoon was more than wonderful as there is pretty good fishing (especially down closer to the opening to the river), however, some of the best fishing was right off the dock :-) My only suggestion would be to make sure you have an anchor with you because the lake does have a lot of movement from the river (we always carry one with us when we rent). Amy and Rod both were a pleasure to work with and we would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away but still be close enough to the cities to not have to spend half your time getting there!!
Island View Cabin is only 5 minutes from the friendly town of Mora. In addition to some unique shops and local restaurants there is also a Coburns Grocery Store and Shopko, and several fast food chains.
We never get tired of the lake but if you do, check out the Mora Water Park - pool, diving boards, 3 water slides and a zero entry pool for the little ones.
Don't miss the farmers market that pops up by the intersection of Hwy 65 and 23 East where you'll find a rotating variety of great vegies, fresh cut flowers, crafts/art, locally made jams, jellies, salsa and Amish made baked goods.
Let us know if you're looking for something specific to do and we'll help head you in the right direction!
