A very spacious and comfortable property

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a lovely two week stay at "Glenmore" my wife and I had a fantastic holiday.

The bungalow is massive and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing peaceful break, we loved having our breakfast cuppa on the patio with views out to sea while listening to the birds.

Most days were spent driving a small piece of the wild Atlantic way, conemarra has some spectacular scenery our favourite stopping place had to be Roundstone, but there are many more.

When we got back to "glenmore" in the evening the pub at the end of the road had lovely pints of Guinness to sample, and a great menu, we had an anniversary meal there one night , and the landlord gave us a free bottle of wine to celebrate

Sometimes in Ireland the weather can get a bit on the damp side, but the bungalow still had that covered with satellite TV and very good wi.fi including sky sports.

All in all nothing was missing from our great stay at "Glenmore" and we would highly recommend a holiday here.

I would like to add that the communication between ourselves and our host Charles was at all times fantastic,

Fantastic holiday home in CONNEMARA, Co Calway

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic family holiday home in Connemara. The house is very comfortable and has everything and more that you would need. Large gardens front and rear providing a safe, private environment for children. Great location to explore the surrounding area if you enjoy a quiet private location and enjoy nature and the outdoors. Restaurant, pub and shop within a few minutes walking distance. Quiet beaches within 10-15 minutes driving distance. Glenmore is the perfect location for a holiday break.

Great place to stay in Connemara

  • 5 of 5

This home is a perfect place to stay and explore the west coast of Ireland. There were six of us and we had plenty of room. The location is easy to find and walkable to Coyne's Pub and a small grocery store. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The views of the water are beautiful. There are many things to see and do in the area including Ballynahinch Castle and the town of Clifton.

WONDERFUL HOUSE ON THE OCEAN SEA

  • 5 of 5

The house is located in a very quiet place, with a view on a oceanic bay. The location is perfect to explore Connemara, and near the house there is a well equipped market. The owner, Charles, is very kind and hospitable, and in the house you find anything you need. We hope to go back to Glenmore when it will be possible.

Cozy Connemara Cottage with spectacular sea views!

  • 5 of 5

Nestled in the small, quaint, native Irish-speaking village of KilKieran, this cottage was the perfect size for our family of five! The owner was extremely accommodating and helpful. The house was lovely and clean. There are three ample bedrooms, a bathroom and a fabulous kitchen with amazing sea views. This was truly the perfect place to stay for a week or two. There is a local pub literally down the road, Coyne's that serves great pub grub and a small grocery store beside it. The weather was wonderful and you can't find a more beautiful place than Connemara when the sun shines or even when it doesn't! Equipped with television, games and the internet, even when it does rain, its nice to just hang out in the cozy sitting room with a warm fire going. We took a trip to Inis Bofin, one of the most westerly islands off the coast of Ireland. Weather permitting; this is definitely one that I would recommend. Only a 40-minute drive from the cottage, you board the ferry and about 45 minutes later you arrive on one of the most spectacular places! A few musts are Ballynahinch Castle, the towns of Roundstone and Clifton and Kylemore Abbey. Don't forget to check out the great beaches too!

A great time

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a fantastic two week stay at Glenmore cottage. The location is perfect for a quiet, peaceful vacation close to the ocean and within 1-1 1/2 hours of major shopping and histocial sites. Charlie and Mary were perfect hosts, a great starter pack of soda bread, cheese, butter ham and tea was waiting our arrival. And a psecial touch was the roses for my wife. A great start. The cottage is everything advertised, the location is stunning and the village has all you may need. A great pub, a post and store, and beautiful scenery all around. The roads in Connemara are a bit of a challenge, and travel is slow, but it makes it easier to absorb the scenery and the slower pace of western Ireland. The coast road to Galway is a must, as is a ferry ride to the Aran islands. Kylemore Abbey and beautiful gardens an hour away. The area has everything you may want for recreation, or just a cozy quiet vacation. Great book selections, DVDs and SKY TV on a big screen. And the view from the kitchen makes oyu want to eat in every night. We highly recommend a stay at Glenmore.

Thank you Charlie and Mary, it was a great two weeks and we hope to see you again soon!!

Connemara is the name of an area that is located in the west of Ireland with a coastline on three sides that overlook the Atlantic. It is a unique parcel of land with its rugged wild and rocky landscape peppered with heather, gorse and mountain streams. Connemara is a worldwide favourite holiday location for peace and tranquillity. A championship golf course is at Ballyconnelly, about 45 minutes from Glenmore, and two other courses nearer, and there is fishing, walks, and trekking at your doorstep. There is an excellent restaurant less than 200 yards away with a local pub with music most weekends. The local village at 300 yards has a supermarket and post office. Kilkerrin is a village on the Atlantic and 'off the beaten track' and Glenmore is an ideal base to explore the area and for an independent self-catering holiday in a rural and beautiful setting. See Cllifden the main town in Connemara for the many other local activities and events that are held throughout the year.
