Come relax and let all your worries float away as you relax on a private deck while listening to a babbling creek. Warm your toes with a crackling fire, as you watch the sun slowly dip behind the mountains.
Keep your eyes keenly attentive to the many opportunities to see wildlife at its best. It is very common as you pour your first cup of coffee, to see a bald eagle perched in a tree across the creek. Nearby a deer is going about it's daily activities unaware of your presence, and trout finding its first meal of the day in the clear water just off the edge of the bank.
This cottage features a fully equipped kitchen with many on hand ingredients ready to whip up your favorite meal. Comfortable living room with a leather sleeper sofa, large flat screen T.V., as well as a gas wood stove to take the chill out of those chilly nights. A cozy bedroom with a queen size bed, nice size bath with freshly washed towels and linens.
Attractions: Centrally located to many interests, Finger Lakes Wineries, Breweries, High class restaurants, Trout fishing, Hiking, and endless amount of state land for hunting/snowmobiling. There is also two kayaks/ life jackets, and fishing gear available to make your stay that much more enjoyable.
We are a young, active, married couple, with no kids. We are currently involved in volunteer construction work, in the Mississippi area, and Texas.
Nate and Tara Potter purchased this cottage in 2011
This home is perfectly situated to enjoy wildlife, as well as swimming, fishing, kayaking, shopping, and many more activities.
When we first saw the natural beauty of the surrounding area, it was love at first sight! It has been said, we have the nicest view of Owego Creek, and we would have to agree. The sounds of nature, and the creek, have a nice calming effect. You will enjoy it as much as we do!
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. Everything was just like was stated in the description. Homeowners gave us some great suggestions for restaurants, etc. in the area. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend too.

The property was beautiful The cottage was very clean and well-equipped with anything that you could need. The highlight of our trip was as soon as we got there ,we walked out back and saw a beautiful bald eagle perched on a tree about 100 feet away. We saw it three times over four days and have a great video of it it was majestic. Our national bird in its natural setting. This was a dream for me as I always wanted to see an eagle. I was so upset that I forgot my binoculars and when I went into the kitchen there was a pair right there with a bird watching book. . Great spot for birdwatching Some people may think they will miss the Wi-Fi connection but you don't. The kids play cards watch videos hung around the fire it is a nature lovers paradise. good fishing and kayaking. Only down side is that we could not stay longer.
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was a great get away place to go. When we arrived there was a bottle of wine and two glasses waiting for us on the table. Very nice welcoming after a 5 hour drive!
The view from the deck was excellent and was our favorite spot for all meals and just relaxing.
Thank you for sharing your clean and cozy cottage with us.

Stayed here in June this was my second stay at the cottage and it was lovely both times. I visit the Owego area annually and will always stay here.
We stayed at this cottage for a week in July, it's very nice, our son was at Cornell in Ithaca (short drive) for the summer so we came to visit from Nebraska. Nate and Tara have done a great job including everything you need for your stay, we stay at VRBO's all over the country and have been in multi-million dollar homes that haven't provided the amenities in this unit. I highly recommend you do an inventory of food stuff in the unit before you go shopping they already have a lot of the commodities you'll need. The cottage is peaceful and relaxing, on our second day I was standing on the deck having coffee when a huge bald eagle cruised down the creek about 30 yards in front of me, complete with a live trout in it's talons (it was close enough I could see the trout struggling to get away), so cool, something I'll never forget, five minutes later another eagle followed the first one. On day four, again sitting out in the early morning I saw movement just below the deck in the creek bed, it was a baby fawn it couldn't have been more that a couple days old, still knobby knees, spots and all. I never did see mama but she had to be close. Granted neither time did I have my camera ready. And finally I was watching a blue heron fishing in the creek when he reached in and pulled out a nice trout to eat. Personally I couldn't catch a thing but the river was low due to the lack of rain in the area. I highly recommend this cottage. P.S. We DID love it! Thanks Tara and Nate for sharing your property!!!
This is a gorgeous cottage offering seclusion and quiet! We spent a wonderful four nights here, and could have stayed another month! There is everything you need to have a relaxing time, the kitchen is a chefs delight, and the bed is made for dreaming! Nothing is spared in this cottage to make your stay carefree.
The local chipmunks provide entertainment and the fireflies take your breath away!
Thanks to Tara for her tips on travel and suggestions of local activities, all were spot on, and timely responses were always received. We would highly recommend this property, providing us with the very best of experiences.
Our home is located on Owego Creek, yearly stocked with a variety of trout. Owego was named coolest small town in 2009. Close proximity to Cornell University and Ithaca College. Many different wineries and breweries to choose from locally.
