About the property

Luxurious 2-BR, 2-1/2 Bath House In Pristine Condition

** Please check out our Sarah Clifford Cottage VRBO#595744**

The historic Sarah Clifford Guest House is located within Charleston's downtown historic district and has been transformed into a luxurious 2000 sq. ft. home with high end modern conveniences without losing its historic character. Light-filled, uncluttered and clean, the Sarah Clifford Guest House is the perfect place for a peaceful, private retreat within just a few blocks of the best restaurants, performance venues, historic homes, museums and shopping in downtown Charleston.

Four guests (our maximum) will find lots of space to enjoy time together (or reading off by oneself) on the first floor of the Guest House. There is a large living room with a flat screen TV, a sunroom, an outdoor patio and a cozy study that also has a large flat screen TV. Along with a beautiful chef's kitchen, a powder room is located on the first floor.

The second floor has two private bedrooms, each with its own private bath. The master bedroom has a King bed, a flat screen TV and an adjoining private master bath with a large walk-in shower and double sinks. The second bedroom, at the opposite end of the house, has a Queen sized bed and an adjoining private bathroom with a tub/shower and double sinks.

Wonderful Charleston Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Two couples spent three nights in this fabulous cottage on Charlotte Street. It is gorgeous, immaculate, and has everything a guest could desire right down to farm fresh eggs in the refrigerator. Every detail has been carefully thought out and it all was so wonderful we hardly wanted to leave though we were there for the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) so did make an effort to attend at least some of the events! The location is perfect as it is a lovely residential area and easy to walk everywhere. Thank you so much Ann and Fred for an excellent visit!

The guest house was absolutely beautiful with everything you might need in a home.

We had a wonderful stay at the guest house. We were away for a sister's getaway. Ann and Fred were so kind and helpful in every way. It was a beautiful city to explore and a great way to catch up and reconnect after a long day of walking around the city. They thought of everything to help make a visit one to always remember.

If possible, it's even better than the photos!

  • 5 of 5

Ann and Fred were the perfect hosts for our girls' getaway vacation. Thoughtful, friendly, welcoming and understanding, their brand of Southern hospitality made us feel like valued guests, not just VRBO renters. We would definitely rent again when in the Charleston area and recommend it to anyone who wants to be near the historic district, restaurants and bustle but without the noise and trouble. Onsite parking was a major plus--just steps to our doorway in the private back yard. Inside, the accommodations were on par with a 5-star hotel, from cleanliness to amenities to ambiance to upgraded everything. Thank you, Ann and Fred, for helping two middle-aged women traveling alone in a strange place feel at home. You're the best!

Lovely space, gracious hosts

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time (in spite of crummy weather) in large part due to the beautiful accommodations. Ann and Fred have thought of everything. The location is super convenient - walking distance to many city destinations (City Market, the Aquarium and Marion Square and all the deliciousness in the Upper King district). The guest house is bright and airy and cozy - with everything you need for a weekend or a month-long stay. Thank you!
