At Mounthaven, you can wander the property and marvel at the towering cedar trees. Relax on the bench by the pond. Find the picnic shelter in the meadow. Watch the creek tumble by. Deer, squirrels, chipmunks, and a wide variety of birds pay frequent visits. You may hear the call of an owl after the sun goes down, or catch a glimpse of a raccoon on a midnight prowl.
We have a large selection of books, puzzles, and games to borrow. There is a playground for small children.
We are happy to help you find just the right activity to make your stay a memorable one. We offer trail maps and can suggest hikes for all ages.
We family stayed here for 3 nights in August. The Cabin is located in a resort with a few campsites and several other cabins. The property is pretty heavily wooded so everything seemed to be spread out fairly nice. There is a great playground right next to the cabin, so we could enjoy a campfire and have some food cooking on the BBQ (bring your own Charcoil) while the kids played out in the yard. There were several other various groups staying in the cabins and campground that our kids enjoyed playing with as well. We saw deer roaming the property and everything was really peaceful. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We spend most of our time outside, but we enjoyed the inside of the cabin as well. The owners are almost always on site and were available both times we had questions about the area. There is a hot tub that was closed during the summer months, but my understanding is they open the spa during the slower Winter season. We'd love to come back again sometime. Thanks
