A spacious property that appeals to couples, families, adventurers and those that just need to enjoy the serenity of mountain life. Forty vineyards with an hours drive of High Meadows, walking, biking and hiking trails nearby, scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Stone Mountain, less than a mile from Camp Cheerio, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and picnicking on the New River. Beautiful, public golf courses within minutes of High Meadows.
Two master en suites with one on the main floor that is over 800 square feet and include a gas fire place. In addition, our home features a large basement with a pool table and a 50 inch flat screen HD TV. The perfect place to enjoy sporting events or for the kids to hang out.
We had such a lovely time at this house in Roaring Gap, NC. Family from around the state met here for a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. It felt as if we were at a home of our own. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, the downstairs provided extra fun with a pool table. We enjoyed some nearby wineries and even came home with a fresh cut Christmas tree. A beautiful area and a charming house to spend any occasion.
Older traditional chalet home on the beautiful High Meadows Golf Course. The kitchen was well equipped for our family of 10 (4 children under 8 years of age). The temperatures were in the 80s and 90s over the weekend, and the air conditioning worked very well. The master bedroom was spacious with a separate sitting area and large screen TV. Our grandchildren loved playing in the backyard area that led onto the golf course, especially in the early morning before the golfers started playing. Some concerns were the lower level game room that had storage and other items within reach of children, including a battery, tools, etc. We didn't allow the children downstairs. The downstairs playroom and bedroom were musty smelling even with the dehumidifier running. The upstairs bedroom with the king bed faces the front of the home and had large windows without blinds or curtains. The bedroom was light filled as soon as the sun rose which wasn't a problem since our grandchildren are up very early. Our granddaughters set up the loft bedroom as their playroom. It overlooks the main floor living area, and none of the adults slept upstairs as a result. The two younger children slept on the main floor because of the risk of falling through the railing in the loft or down the steps. The two other bedrooms on the main floor were spacious, and there were ample bathrooms for all of us. High Meadows is 20 minutes from Sparta which has a Food Lion, Lowe's Food, Lowe's Hardware and Walgreens for shopping. There were also shops featuring local artisans. We ate at the Route 21 Tavern, and the buffet was delicious. We spent Saturday hiking on Stone Mountain and wading by the waterfalls. On Sunday, we drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway and had a picnic lunch. We enjoyed our stay at the Garrison's home and the mountain setting couldn't have been more perfect.
Very nice home and owners were excellent to work with. Beautiful view of the golf course. The kitchen is very well stocked and the linens were nice. Stone mountain state park nearby is beautiful. Pool table in basement provided a lot of fun for all. Would definitely recommend this house.
