Make great family memories at our sunny, contemporary Broadkill Beach home near Lewes and Rehoboth, just steps from the beach. Go back in time. Broadkill is pristine, private, and next to the Prime Hook Nature Preserve. Golf nearby too!
Explore the area on our 4 adult and 2 child bikes (bring your helmets). Relax and enjoy our beach chairs, toys and umbrellas! Try your hand at stand up paddleboarding. Check out the sandbar at low tide and the bunches of tiny hermit crabs. At night by flashlight, low tide is a whole other experience! Make S'mores on the beach at night. Bring your fishing gear and grill your catch or simple fare on our large front deck using our electric grill. Our kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, including a new stove, crock pot for easy meals, and a blender for smoothies! Just bring your fresh ingredients, linens, and paper products. There are great restaurants, free Wednesday night summer concerts in the park and antiquing in the cute town of Milton as well as inviting churches on Sunday morning. A little further afield, explore the lavendar farm, in full bloom in July, and lots of great shopping outlets.
Play games on our screened-in back porch. Rent a kayak or at the Broadkill Store and launch it at the beach or in the calm preserve waters for great bird and nature watching. Tour the eclectic, fun Dogfishhead Brewery and sample their brews including root beer for kids and the young at heart. Memories made here!
We are pet friendly for well-behaved, well-supervised pets. Our beach is pet friendly and also allows residents and guests to pull their vehicle right up to the water to launch their small craft, but you'd never guess it from how clean and peaceful it is! Sleep soundly in comfortable, new queen beds, comfortable full bed, and twin bunks with trundle. Rinse off in our fresh, new outdoor shower or in one of the 2 full baths. We live in Allentown, Pa with our two children who are 13 and 17. They are so busy with sports and activities that we can't bliss out at the beach as much as we'd like. That's why we want to share our home with you.
Pat purchased this house in 2013
We love the beach! A friend at work also owns a place here and found this home for us. Once we saw it, we couldn't resist making Broadkill Beach our Destination Getaway. This is our dream beach house for the next chapter of our lives when our kids go off to school!
We love the proximity to the sand, contemporary feel, all the windows, the fireplace, and the fish over the fireplace. There's a view of the beach from the deck, and the house is very roomy. This is a very comfortable home for families and entertaining good friends. We have two kids and my best friend has two kids. Our two families are very comfortable at Bliss!
We stayed here in July with a 2 year old, 2 teens and 6 adults, as well as a golden. All I can say is location, location, location! To get to the beach you only need to walk down the road past two houses, and then down a sandy path for about 150 steps. Definitely bring water shoes as this path can get extremely hot! There was only a few other families on the beach with us and we felt like we had our own private beach. Water was so gentle and the 2 year old could easily wade in and loved it. It felt like bath water! On some afternoons I was able to wade into the ocean over 300 feet and it was still only up to my waist. It felt like I was walking in the middle of the ocean! Coming back to the house after a day on the beach, we enjoyed gathering in the living room and eating together at either the large indoor or porch dining table. There was plenty of room for all of us. The outdoor shower was perfect. Kitchen had all of the essentials and Pat went out of her way to send a maid and maintenance person over during the week to ensure that the place was extra clean. We headed into Milton, Lewes and Rehobeth for meals. We went to the Rehobeth boardwalk one night and to Funland, which was fun but packed. Couldn't even see the sand on the beach it was so packed with pet. We were very happy to return to private broadkill beach where we could have bonfires, dogs, and privacy. Loved the paddle board in the storage area. Only suggestion would be to update mattresses. Can't wait to return!!!
The home was bright and sunny, with a view of the bay.T he home was very nice and offered a bunk bed and a double bed on the main level and two queen beds upstairs. The bunk beds were in a small room that also had a tv and a small sofa. My grandkids loved it! The kitchen table was large and roomy, allowing for the kids to spread out with their toys and coloring books!
A nice thing was the short walk to Broadkill Beach. Being situated on the bay made for gentle waves and warmer waters. A great time was had by all.
I just returned from a trip to Delaware Beach Bliss and absolutely loved it. Broadkill Beach is a great alternative to the more crowded DE beach towns, and my group of 8 found the house spacious and well equipped. We loved grilling on the front deck, and took advantage of the closet full of beach supplies. (The stand up paddle board was particularly fun!) The best part of the house is definitely the location though--you are a literally steps from the private beach, and can see the water from the many windows. Our group also included a dog, who I think appreciated the beach even more than we did!
The owner Pat was extremely responsive and helpful at every step of our trip, and we definitely appreciated communicating with the actual owner of the house instead of an impersonal rental company. Highly recommend this property!
A close group of friends wanted to create a magical weekend to help a wonderful womyn usher in her next half century. This home was lovely with all the amenities necessary to experience a perfectly fun and relaxing weekend. Broadkill Beach has always been a favorite but having found Pat's home makes it even better! Great sleeping space for everyone, bright, huge windows everywhere, inviting front deck, lovely views of the water. Especially loved the bonfire on the beach, Pat even told us where to find the marshmellow roasting sticks!! Long walks on the beach, great bike rides in the Preserve, fun evenings of Tripoly, yummy mornings with homemade doughnuts from the little local store, dolphin sightings and so much more. We'll be back, hopefully very soon!
Perfect weekend get away home on one of the quieter beaches in Delaware. Clean and spacious with huge windows that let the light in all day long. We made use of the puzzles in the closet and the beach chairs in storage. Outdoor shower is a nice touch.
Little piece of heaven practically on the beach. House was very clean. Kitchen had most of the essentials. Great big balcony with nice table and chairs for outdoor dining. Quiet neighborhood. Far enough away from rehoboth/Lewes busy traffic areas but close enough to get to if you want to spend a rainy day shopping or go to the boardwalk. Very cute little town of Milton minutes away with a nice playground for kiddos to play on. There is Irish eyes restaurant and it was very good too. Steps from the beach. To be honest, we spent most of our time on the beach with our family, including a 17month old. The water is extremely calm, shallow, the kids could swim and play in the water without having to worry about them much. My husband enjoys fishing and I enjoy the beach so it was great to be able to do both at the same time in the same place and not have to part on our vacation. Had a lovely time here and would love to come back again next year.
Home of the eclectic Dogfishhead Brewery, Lavender Farm blooming in July, Antiquing, Music at the Park in Milton every Wed night in Summer and great restaurants.
