Our spacious, quiet, light filled apartment is surrounded by trees and has a view of the creek that runs through the property. Just steps from downtown with its restaurants and music venues. The town park with its towering redwoods and tennis courts are next door.
Centrally located in sunny Marin County's best weather area, Fairfax is a destination in it's own right. And it offers easy access to the entire Bay Area -- San Francisco (by car, bus, or ferry), 'the Bay,' Mount Tamalpais State Park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, West Marin and Point Reyes National Seashore, the Pacific Coast beaches at Stinson Beach, Muir Beach, or Bolinas, and the world-famous Napa/Sonoma Wine Country. And don't forget the other charming towns in Marin, including Sausalito, Mill Valley, San Anselmo, Tiburon, Larkspur and San Rafael.
I love Fairfax's walkable small town feel with its access to hiking and biking trails.

This apartment was absolutely perfect for the 3 months I lived in Fairfax. Anne was so great and so helpful. The apartment was clean cozy and comforting and the town of Fairfax was just magical. It was very close to my job and to the city. I would 100% stay here again.
Well, I arrived at 3:00 PM and the rental was not prepped. I got in touch with the landlord and got conflicting stories about when the cleaning crew should have been there, i.e. before my visit. (I was told that I would get a partial refund, still have not seen it as yet)
The cable was set to Spanish and the cable box was not functioning. "I" had to wait for the cable guy to come and replace the unit. This should NOT have been my problem. Who knows how long the cable box was not functioning.
It was not clear where garbage should be disposed. I had to ask another renter.
Otherwise, the rental unit was clean and near the town center.
Enjoyed my stay
The time we spent in family was wonderful and an important part of it was the aprtment itself in we found it very i clean , absolutelly all we need was there (kitcheware, towels, TV, wifi, etc) the location is perfect the main stores are at walking distance and the neighborhood is very quite and safe.
We found as well as oither visitors a Little challenging finding parking but is not imposible sometimes is necesary to walk a block but no ore tan that. We recomend it and for sure we will come back. Thankls a lot
My husband and I found this apartment very clean and within walking distance to our son's home. The apartment was spacious and all the necessities provided even a Kurig coffee pot!
We did enjoy using the internet to catch up on National and home town news.We did find parking a little challenging. There were 3 parking spaces --- 1 marked for handicapped and 1 marked for management. I am not a big TV person, but a little would have been nice. It was very warm when we arrived, so we immediately put the fans to work and opened the sliding door to the deck. With that done the apartment did cool down at night.
We would stay there again and I have already recommended it to other family members.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Fairfax, the apartment was within walking distance of the local merchants and parks. The area all around the apartment was quiet and peaceful. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, enough dishes and silverware for all we wanted to do in the kitchen. Plenty of closet space in both bedrooms. We would stay again without any hesitation. I guess the only downside was no local tv for the news and perhaps a program or two in the evening but we did enjoy Netflix...the apartment looked exactly like the photo's in the listing. The owner was very helpful in answering any questions I had before we arrived. I would and have recommended this to several of our family and friends since we got home.
My husband and I have stayed at many VRBO residences over the last several years. We go to Hawaii every year in October for 2 weeks, and continually stay at the same place because the owner Karl is so accommodating with his guest. I gave two stars for two reasons: 1) cleanliness and 2) location. We live in San Francisco, and getting out of the fog belt for a few days in the summer is fabulous! Here's my disappointment: 1) Fairfax is HOT in the summer, so I would recommend having a couple of standing FANS 2) ROKU box was NOT available. I know someone with a ROKU BOX and we contacted him, to find out if there was something I wasn't aware of, we even changed the batteries in the remote control, didn't help! DVD was also NOT working, very unhappy!
3) the owner was out of the country (France), If you're out of the country, and you have guest staying at one of your residences, have a back up person for contact. I didn't even know the owner was out of the country until I called her about the TV, she told me I woke her up, and that she was in FRANCE. 4) there was no parking in front of the building, we had to park along the next block 5) Because we had no fans, we had to keep the windows open at night so we could rest. The neighbors were very loud, had a party one evening, didn't sleep! I do not recommend this place in Fairfax, even though the price is quite reasonable, the owner needs to make some changes!
