'Thank you for the welcome gift of wine and stuff, it was really nice and much appreciated. We had a wonderful week in your house, it is very comfortable and well equipped, in a beautiful setting. We explored the land but never found the well! We also had a great laugh playing scrabble with 18 E's.' - Kim from Harrow

'Thanks very much. The weather was a bit unseasonal, but it did not spoil our holiday too much. The accommodation was superb and we enjoyed it very much.' Iain from Wigan

We first visited this area around 1990. We have been going back for long weekends or family holidays every year and finally decided to buy our property as we love this part of France so much. It offers so much for all ages.
Gareth Watts purchased this cottage in 1995

Lovely comfortable house in a beautiful peaceful setting, a good base to explore the surrounding countryside. The owners supplied a lot of information about things to see and do along with good directions to all local places of interest. My husband and I enjoyed the slow pace of life but our children (age 14,12 and 8) did find it a bit quiet and we did have to do a lot of driving to get anywhere. We also found it difficult to find somewhere nice to eat as many restaurants were closed during the week even in the towns. It wasn't too much of a problem as it was lovely to eat at home in the picturesque surroundings. All and all it was a good holiday but maybe not the first choice for teenagers.
Very attractive traditional country house, in a quiet location, set back from the road. Facilities in good condition and nothing missing that could be needed for a quiet get away. Gareth the host extremely helpful pre arriving (booking vets appointment for dog, reccomending restaraunts) and when at the property with good knowledge of the local area - even sends a very helpful guide to the house and area.
This is a lovely quiet property in the Authie valley. Beautiful bedrooms especially the master bedroom . The tv and wifi both worked perfectly if you need that sort of thing and all the other equipment was clean and functioning . There is lots of natural light in the rooms which stayed cool when it was hot outside and there are great views of the stars on a clear night. Hesdin, Crecy and Montreuil are not far away and the coast is less than an hour. There is a local bar 100 metres away and the locals are quite happy to welcome you to what is a basic estaminet. The owner was very communicative and helpful and all in all we had a wonderful few days in a very rural setting.
Absolutely amazing place will definitely be booking again soon
Just returned from a 3 night stay in this amazing cottage in a lovely part of France. The help and guidance that is given to you by the amazing owners really does play a part in your holiday, used a lot of their tips which helped us find some great places in the area. The cottage itself is lovely, really clean and well stocked with toys and books, plenty of room for a family of five and the outside terrace is perfect on an evening whatever the weather. Will 100% be returning very soon with more friends and family.
