What a wonderful place. This place exceeded my expectation. When you arrive at Los Suenos it is like going into a beautiful sanctuary. The people at Stay in Costa Rica reception were wonderful.Anytime I would call they would take care of the problem within minutes. The condo was clean and very comfortable, perfect for two people. We made use of the lovely private pool behind our unit, most days we had the pool to ourselves.I rented a golf cart for the first week and we were able to explore the complex and check out the restaurants and the marina.I did 2 sailfish trips that were fun. It is a little tough to get on a trip if you are single.I suggest you go down to the charter dock and talk to the captains and ask if they have any charters that may accept another person. It worked for me as I didn't want to pay $1500 for the whole boat.Sandy in the charter office hooked me up on the first trip which was fair. The second trip I worked myself by talking to the captain Mike of the charter boat EPIC, he had one guy for the next day that he contacted and I and a third person shared the expense. The Epic Is a nice fast 32' L&H. Mike went 40 miles, twice the distance of the first charter and we caught 21 sailfish and lost another dozen. You can't ask for better than that.
As far as the tours go,we did Manuel Antonio which was interesting. The catamaran trip to Tortuga was fun. We rented a car and decided to to go to Nauyaca falls which Nicole recommended. If you do this trip I suggest you arrange to go on horseback. The dirt road is very steep and really requires a 4 wheel. I was hesitant with the toyota rental car,but only bottomed out coming back up the steep slope.I recommend going on horseback as you need to walk about 4 K up hill to the falls. You would be better off during the rainy season also.
As far as the dining goes,we cooked breakfast and used the grill by the pool. We did go to the Italian restaurant which was good.Gallion's I thought was a rip off $65 for spiny lobster and one was spoiled. They did take it off the bill and offered us desert on the house.Good restaurants in Jaco much more affordable like Poseidon, Lemon Zest and Grafitti. If you are adventurous you can take the local bus to Jaco from the supermarket at the light by the main road for less than $1.
John, the owner of the unit was great to deal with and I would highly recommend staying in this unit.
My wife and I spent 13 days (12/20/14-1/2/15) at this condo and let me say this condo is better than what is presented on line. This is our third trip to the Jaco vicinity and our first stay at Los Suenos. Let's start off with the con's first. You do not hear the waves at night like you would in Jaco and to us, that is a plus. You are limited to your choice of restaurants on the property and it can be pricey at $100 for two meals per night if you care to go "First Class". The rate of a rental car on this property is twice the price that you will find in Jaco (and you should get one). Golf cart rentals also if rented on the property run at a minimum of $45 a day during our stay. Out side the entrance of Los Suenos is a rental facility and you will find a better rate for a golf cart. Those were our negative findings. Now for the best part and the "Pro's". Dealing with John was a pleasure. He is prompt, courteous and follows up on any request or question ASAP. We had pre-arranged for transportation to and from the airport and it was flawless. The condo check-in/out process I must say that they have it down to a science. We were in and out in 10 minutes at the most. When we arrived there was a gate guard (24 hour) and they were so cordial, after day one they knew who you were though not by first name but by face. When we entered the condo it was like coming home. Clean, well laid out and "free Wi-Fi". The kitchen area is plenty for what you need. If you care to make breakfast, you can with no issue as long as no more than two people partake in the process. The bedroom has blackout curtains so you can sleep in without feeling guilty! The sitting area with the love seat is good as it can get. American television (watched OSU vs. Alabama) for the national championship, just everything you could ask for. Picked up my car the following day for the duration of our stay at Budget in Jaco. For 11 day's the car was $250 (if you reserve well in advance, and you need a car to enjoy yourself). Outside the entrance if you if you turn right and go to the end you will find great beach and food. People watch and enjoy the sunset each night! Take advantage of what the area has to offer, do not be afraid to drive in this country and take advantage of what it has to offer. Do a little research, Google Earth the locations and go. This property cannot be beat for the price, take advantage of it if you can! John, thanks again. Tim and Sharon
I can not think the fine folks at Los Suenos Resort and particularly the wonderful people in charge of our condo for my recent stay during my honeymoon at the end of September of this year. From the golf cart rental, cab rides, visit to an active volcano or hiking and sight seeing through the National Park the entire experience was unforgetable. The resort was simply amazing and the condo we stayed in was magnificent and simply the perfect place to stay. Every step around the condo was beautifully landscaped with bright colors and the brightest greens. The condo itself was clean and had everything you could ask for. It felt like I was at home. I would highly recommend the same exact experience we had to anyone who asked...We will be back soon.
Wow..What a great vacation..The Resort itself was awesome and the Condo was exactly as presented. We went with our 2 girls ages 14 and 6 and we had plenty of room for everyone. We had such a great time. We went on the Crocodile tour which was awesome I would recommend it to everyone. My girls favorite was the Ziplining through the rain forest. My Husband caught 2 Sailfish ofcourse he loved that. Then another day we went inshore fishing with girls caught barracuda's and Bonida we had a great day. Thr surfing was great Per my Husband. We took a tour by Catamaran to Tortuga Isle it was beautiful..Tropical waters and white sand beaches..Snorkling too. We had lunch with the white faced Monkeys. This was such a wonderful experience for my whole family. Costa Rica was always on our Bucket list and I am so glad we Stayed at Los Suenos. John the owner was so helpful, Thanks again John for sharing your Condo with us. We hated to leave.Sincerely, The Kelley's
My husband and I spent a week here with our two children. The condo itself was perfect for us. With the king bed and sleeper sofa, we had plently of room. Much more than had we been in a hotel room. Having the full sized kitchen and washer/dryer was awesome and saved us some money! The resort itself was beautiful. Plenty of things to do and restaurants to choose from. We rented a golf cart for cruising around the resort and a car for things to do outside of the property. I highly recommend this condo and resort! The condo owner, John was a great source for info. and offered lots of great advice of dos and don'ts. Thanks John!
What a super 40th Anniversary celebration!! Costa Rica is beautiful and Los Suenos Resort is an amazing upscale, fun-fun-fun resort. The vegetation is breathtaking and the property is so clean and well maintained. We loved our condo -- had everything we needed and more. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Perfect location, tucked into the corner of other condos away from any noise except the birds!! Just around the corner from our own little swimming pool for nighttime cocktails. Also within walking distance of restaurants, the Marina and it's shops, the Marriott resort pool (with swim-up bar) and casino. Perfect location. Would highly recommend to all my friends and family! Hope to go back soon!!! Can't wait!!!
