Ka’anapali Beach is recognized as one of the top ten beaches in the world. The spectacular natural setting, along with the many amenities of this vacation paradise, make for an outstanding vacation setting for people of all ages.
It is a short walk to Black Rock for snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles and a wonderful place for long walks along the beach. In addition, numerous water activities are available directly along Ka’anapali beach including catamaran trips to whale watch, snorkel along the coast, scuba diving, parasailing, fishing, surfing, wind surfing, and kayaking/Stand up paddle boarding. Ka’anapali includes 2 world class golf courses (5 min walk).
The Whaler Village is next door and offers luxury shopping, restaurants, and free evening entertainment in the courtyard. A promenade extends the length of Ka’anapali Beach and provides walking access to many luxury hotels with luaus, restaurants, barefoot bars, live entertainment, and additional shopping.
The old whaling village of Lahaina is just up the road and offers additional areas to explore and enjoy. Tours of other locations on the island can be easily booked through the concierge or rent a car and explore the island from the wonderful home base of the Whaler condominium.

We live in the Beautiful city of Kelowna BC, Canada. located in the Okanagan Valley and known as the Napa of The North for it's great vineyards and orchards. We feel privileged to live there in the summer months and in Maui for part of our winter.

We came to Maui and stayed at The Whaler for many years and always wanted to buy - finally we did and it's been fabulous. It's so beautiful here and we love the proximity to the best beach, wonderful Kaanapali Walkway, Whalers Village and it's shops and excellent restaurants. It's become our second home!
By Far, a Ground Floor unit, that's elevated for the ocean view, with a lawn and front yard rather than lanai railings. We rarely use elevators or hallways but walk off the lanai and it's steps to the beach, pool, bar-b-ques and walkway. Late afternoon shade is wonderful after a day in the sunshine! This is ideal for our 7 grandchildren! Although they don't all stay with us at once!!
We had an absolutely fantastic time during our stay. The unit was beautiful way beyond our expectations, we were very happy there. Thanks and maybe we'll be able to stay there in '09.
We had a fantastic time at Whaler 108! The owners have everything you can imagine to make this a great temporary 2nd home! It was especially good for our 2.5 year old toddler, and the extra grass area on this ground floor unit made it feel much larger. The baby enjoyed running around and playing while we enjoyed views of Black Rock and the ocean. The owners also had a variety of beach and swim gear for us to use. Also, the kitchen was stocked with everything you can image for cooking. And seeing the ocean from both rooms of the condo was a nice treat! And it was great to just walk to the ocean within seconds from our patio. We would love to stay here again for any of our return trips to Maui and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, convenient place in an amazing location with amazing views!
Thanks to the lovely owners of this unit, our 4th stay at the Whaler (there to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary since eloping in Maui), was absolutely wonderful. We were there with our two very young children and the unit is spacious, immaculately clean, beyond well stocked with everything we could possibly need, and had many thoughtful touches thrown in such as a pack and play for our baby and beach toys, kids books and kids movies on DVD. The location cannot be beat, ground floor so the kids can play on the grass off the lanai, great sun exposure and perfect view of Blackrock and sunsets. Close to the BBQs and pool. Truly could not ask for more. The owners also went above and beyond whenever they could to ensure our stay was perfect and memorable. We WILL be back - Thanks you!
We have been to Kaanapali many times, but this was the first time we stayed in a condo at The Whaler. You can't beat the location - many restaurants and shopping within walking distance and if you like to take snorkel trips or sunset cruises, many of the boats can pick you up right from the beach. The condo is beautiful and provided everything we were looking for. The ground floor gave us an awesome view and easy access to the beach, BBQ's and pool. We will definitely be back!
What a wonderful condo! I was hesitant at first to reserve a ground level condo, as I was concerned about the noise of people walking back and forth. But we now would not have it any other way! This condo faces the Black Rock outcropping on the outer side of the complex (you can see people jumping off the cliff…from your couch). We could walk straight out our back patio doors onto the long private lawn and straight out to the beach, the new BBQ area, everything. I underestimated how much of a convenience that would be. No sharing elevators! We always felt secure and undisturbed.
The condo itself is fully updated with granite countertops throughout, tiled floor (no carpet), modern kitchen and bathrooms, top of the line appliances and cabinetry, very functional kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The furnishings and the décor is spot on for a beachside resort. There’s tons of functional storage in every room including the bathrooms. This condo is just three or so doors down from the new BBQ area, which was finished mid-way through our stay. Three huge gas grills, large tiled sitting area. The only thing they need to work on is the lighting. There are only two huge flood lights on the palm trees pointed down on the patio that are bright enough to warn passing ships! Need ambient lighting instead. Other than that, this is a great new addition.
Hard to find anything wrong with the condo honestly, but if there is anything that could be improved on, it was this—The bedroom dresser smells; I’m certain it’s the type of wood that gives it a bad odor. I tried keeping our clothes in it but eventually had to move everything to the closet or bathroom storage. Just couldn’t hack the smell. Just keep the drawers closed and it’s fine. No big deal since there was plenty of storage anyway. We were never inconvenienced by it. Secondly the maid service supplies very little soap. There was one very small bar in the master bathroom, similar to what you would get in a hotel, which only lasted a day. I bought a couple of bars at the grocery. Again, no big deal.

This condo is absolutely wonderful! I spent a lot of time researching and reading reviews before choosing this condo and I picked the perfect one! The decor is awesome. It feels like home! The kitchen couldn't be nicer. There is plenty of room to unpack and store everything you bring (and we had a lot). The view and location are perfect too! Whalers Village is next door so there are plenty of activities and free events like hula shows and lei making. Lots of restaurants too! Easy access right on the beach to surf lessons and snorkel cruises. The great thing is that even though all these things are so close, the actual location of the condo is very private so it is quiet and relaxing off the lanai. We have 2 young daughters so it was great to be on the ground floor where they could play outside while we got dinner ready. We used the washer and dryer in the hall and that was very easy and convenient. We never had to wait. All I can say is if you are spending lots of time searching for the perfect vacation spot, no need to keep looking because you've found it!!
This was the perfect location for a perfect engagement! This is our third trip to Maui and it was by far the best condo. The location is amazing, and the furnishings and decor are lovely. We will definitely be back! Mahalo!!
