Spacious home with views!

  • 5 of 5

Wood's Ridge is a wonderful place! My 3 friends and I stayed there for a ski weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better place for the price. We used the grill one night for dinner, soaked in the hot tub after skiing and enjoyed the views constantly. Although the tv isn't huge, it was big enough to watch the Broncos win the Super Bowl! I would definitely stay there again with friends or my family.

Great location & views

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at Wood's Ridge, the house is very nicely decorated and has fantastic views. I would highly recommend this property for someone needing rest and relaxation. We had a wonderful time with our family and will return when we can. Did I mention the views of the Rocky Mountains?

Great Place in a Great Area

  • 5 of 5

This property was very clean and has spectacular views from the deck. We spent every evening watching the sun set over the 14,000 foot mountains. The house was very spacious, functional, and close to many activities for our family such as the fish hatchery, alpaca farms, the river, and hiking. The "North Backbone" trail is a short walk from the house, and we hiked into Salida for lunch (about 4 miles one way on nice marked trails).

The owners checked in to be sure we had everything we needed. Overall a great stayand a great house!

Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

Very beautiful home! Every time we come to Colorado we stay in Salida at Woods Ridge. The house fits everyone perfectly and they had everything we needed right there at the home and the decor is amazing! Especially loved the hot tube on chilly nights after long days of skiing. We love the town and all the historic aspects. Very close to the mountain and the town. The owners are amazing people who really care about the house and people who are saying there. Diffidently recommend this home for both adults and families. Can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Family vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful home! The views in the photos do not do it justice! We pulled up, walked on to the deck and my adult/teenage children were in awe. While we have numerous activities planned for the week, we almost hate to leave this spectacular place. The home is beautifully decorated and such a comfortable place to relax and enjoy. We feel right at home here! There is plenty of space to enjoy family time together as well as to have quiet time to escape! The owners have not skimped on one single thing! Our first night, we had wildlife visitors. While this is a fabulous remote location, we are close to amenities and the town of Salida itself is adorable. I would highly recommend this property for an adult or family vacation. We had the pleasure of meeting the Woods (owners) while on a brief walk. They are super people who truly care about their home and the visitors they entertain here! It is evident that they love to share their home and their beautiful state! We could not be more thrilled with our choice. And, it did not break the bank! Well worth the cost, especially when compared to others! If you are on the fence.....GO FOR IT!!!

We came, we saw & we were won over...we'll definitely be back!

  • 5 of 5

Our first visit to the Rockies to ski having been to many places in Europe & North Eastern US. Leaving aside the amazing snow conditions (measured in feet not inches!) at Monarch Mountain (only 20 miles from the house) our home for the week was first class. The views from the deck were outstanding with that 'can this be real' quality that both feeds the soul & relaxes the mind. Inside our hosts left no 'welcoming gesture' unoffered from the multitude of games for tired bodies to exercise their minds to the abundant firewood (and copious amounts of fire lighter) to create just the right atmosphere. Well-appointed kitchen (complete with advice about the efficiency of the oven - it bakes slightly hotter than the dial says) with ample crockery, cutlery & napery. Large utility room at the back with gargantuan washing machine & dryer and space to air dry anything delicate. Three good sized bedrooms tastefully decorated & coordinated as indeed was the whole house with all the attributes of an actual home (quite a variety of birdhouses as well as pictures all very eclectic but all worked together). Bathrooms were clean with ample hot water & towels. Lounge & dining area flow seamlessly from the kitchen in a large L Shape with a good quality TV & efficient & effective wireless router. This house can cope with 8 people easily but 6 using only the 3 bedrooms to sleep is very comfortable. Close to the town of Salida (couple of miles) which has a myriad of eating establishments (we loved 'Currents') and some shopping opportunities but not for the 'professional' shopper more for the amateur browser! All in all this was first rate & we have some treasured memories to take away with an aspiration to come and make more.
