Cozy, quiet cottage with everything you need
The cottage is spotless and well laid out.
We were using it as a home base for Celtic Colours and it worked very well for concerts and museums in Sydney, Port Morien, Mira/Marion Bridge and Louisbourg.
I can't say enough about how kind the hosts are (Deborah and Gary). They think of everything you might need and more! My husband came down with a flu/cold while we were traveling and Deborah arrived with a container of turkey soup and biscuits for him. Incredible hospitality.
I strongly recommend this cabin/location and when we return to Celtic Colours, we will stay here again.
Thank you so much Deborah & Gary

The fall is is a great time to be in Cape Breton , as the Island is virtually abuzz with activities, and the leaves are at their peak, filling every view with brilliant colours.

Relaxing stay at nice and well equipped cottage with romantic touch
The cottage is very well kept, clean and comfortable. Deborah provided us with everything we needed, she is a great host and made us feel very welcome.
A short pleasant walk to the lake. We used either the well equipped kitchen or the BBQ outside. The cottage is a good location to go to the world famous Cabot trail, the Alexander Bell Museum in Baddock, the fortress of Louisbourg, the Atlantic beaches (Dominion is great!) or just to enjoy nature and the Bras d´Or Lake.
We can certainly recommend this romantic cottage on Cape Breton Island.
As owners it is always so nice to hear such wonderful comments about our place! Thank you! We try very hard to meet the needs of our guests and of course want them to have a positive experience while visiting our beautiful Island. As we have had an unusually hot and humid summer we are so pleased to now feature a heat pump to provide comfortable temperatures. It's true, Cape Breton Island is wonderful place to come and spend time exploring and can be a very Romantic setting! The upcoming fall season is especially beautiful when the leaves provide a tapestry of colours and the Island Cultural Events are in full swing! and of course the blueberries are on every menu!
Attractive, clean, spacious, thoughtfully appointed
We found this cottage to be very comfortable, surprisingly spacious, attractively decorated, and very clean. The kitchen and bathroom are up-to-date, and the supplies provided are very well-thought-out. Deborah could not have been more kind and helpful, and we were delighted to find a welcoming vase of flowers on the table along with some very yummy snacks. The central location allowed us to make day trips to the things we wanted to see and do. All in all, we had a lovely stay.

Cozy, Clean, Quiet and Well-Appointed Holiday Home
This rental exceeded our expectations. It was clean and spacious, and the owners provided many extras for our comfort, including coffee, tea, snacks, and even a vase of flowers. The best surprise was that this property has WiFi, which we didn't expect. It was a great gift that allowed us to stay in touch with family throughout our visit. The purpose of our visit was to attend The Celtic Colours International Music Festival and, while we were out and about most evenings at concerts, it was a quiet and relaxing refuge in the mornings when we were able to sleep in and enjoy the peace and quiet of the area.

Great Cottage and location
We had a great time and really nice accomidations. Gary and Deborah could not of been more accommodating. The cottage was outstanding. Had everything we needed and more. Very clean and plenty of room. Had really great walks on two beaches. Would recommend to anyone who wants peace and privacy.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We were very happy to have you stay with us. If you visit the Island again, perhaps in the fall next the Celtic Colours Festival takes place and the leaves absolutely brilliant , we would love to have you! All the best in your future travels!
Cosy nook in beautiful setting
We were really comfortable at Deborah and Gary's beautifully secluded cottage by the lake. The bedrooms are a good size, the kitchen/diner large and well equipped, the living room very spacious and cosy. The cottage was immaculately clean.
A small raft ferry allowed access to a small beach which we were sadly unable to use due to blustery autumn weather conditions but on sunny days idyllic. A car is a must as the cottage is out of town and village and there is no wifi or washing machine so you must be prepared to wash by hand and use wifi in the local cafes There is a TV and DVD player.
All in all it was a lovely space to spend an autumn break close to many of the Celtic Colours folk music venues which was our main focus on Cape Breton Island. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to families and friends
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We very much appreciate your taking the time to provide us with a review, and were very happy to have you stay with us. We are so pleased you enjoyed the Celtic Colours Festival events, an exciting time to visit the Island for sure! The cottage is situated in a rural setting, located 20 minutes from the local towns and the city- so having a vehicle is good advice! Being centrally located, it is only a short drive form many of the the Island's main attractions. As advertised there is no washer/dryer on site for personal laundry , however we are pleased to provide all of our guests with laundry service for all bathroom, bedroom and kitchen linens mid week during their stay. We are also happy to report that Wi-Fi will be available to our guests in the upcoming 2017 season. Again it was a pleasure to meet you, and we hope you come and stay again, perhaps in the summer months when you can take full advantage of the beautiful beaches and sunny ,warm days!
Some of the Islands top sites to visit are only a short drive the cottage.
