With breathtaking mountain views from sunrise to sunset, this chalet style cabin is minutes from downtown Murphy, yet feels a world away. This easily accessible 3 bedroom, 3 bath chalet offers a pool table, gas fireplace and all the amenities of home. Whether you are looking to unwind, while having your favorite beverage on the deck enjoying the views and surrounding wildlife or enjoying one of the many activities within the area, this cabin is ideally situated. There are an abundance of activities from whitewater rafting on the Nantahala or Ocoee River, home of the 1996 Summer Olympic whitewater competition, to nearby waterfalls, boat rentals, fishing, tubing, gem mining, horseback riding, zip lining and newly open Harrah's casino just to mention a few. This chalet is just 15 minutes from John C. Campbell Folk School which offers year-round classes in old world arts and an opportunity to meet renowned artists in the craft community. Also, within a short distance away you can visit Brasstown Bald with an elevation of 4,784 feet above sea level. This observation deck offers a breathtaking view of the mountains’ scenic vistas, which sweep a four state area. In addition, you can always try antiquing or shop to your heart’s content in any of our local shops and Farmer’s Market.
Once you have worked up an appetite you can choose to create something in our fully equipped kitchen or outside grill. Or just kick back and relax while you let the many nearby restaurants do the cooking for you.
We have been vacationing in the Murphy and surrounding areas for years and fell in love with the views from this home.
The cabin was not hard to get to and close to town. While taking a walk on the road, we learned we were at the top of the mountain and could see the city below. We had two mid-size cars and one small car and were able to park all three there. Driveway was narrow but not a headache. Sleeping areas worked great for us with us (the seniors) taking the main level, the parents with one young child in the lower level and the single adult in the loft area. A bathroom is located on each level. The view of the mountains is beautiful and sunsets were spectacular. We found time to sit out on the main deck and visit with each other. It is also wide enough that our grandson was able to run off excess energy while chasing bubbles his aunt had blown. I had never used a gas stove/oven before, but Victor assured me that it was easy to use and he was right. I would recommend the cabin to anyone wanting to stay here and if we do another family vacation in Murphy I would like to stay here again.
Our second time at Skyview.... we liked it enough last year we had to come back for more of the same. Minor issues were quickly addressed by the owner himself. Impressive for a Friday night. Amie Sue is still at No Name Deli and the banana split is like Skyview... a vision of beauty (tasted pretty darn good too). If you are looking for quiet but near a town, this is one of the places to be. Restaurants, nail shop (for the ladies), even a novelty shop are almost within walking distance.... if it wasn't for the steep incline up the mountain and who could live without a Wal-Mart near by. Ingles food store is only minutes away. The décor inside is well placed. Not a regulation pool table, but close to it and a great view out the window. Chickadees and Titmouse don't mind eating your sunflower seeds, so bring a few along. Had them eating out of our hand before we left. As for the appliances... not a worry. Bring your own food and a nice bottle of wine... you will be close to heaven.
We stayed at Skyview Oct. 4-9, 2016. The house is beautiful-3 full floors with large windows, hardwood floors and beautiful views. We watched the sun rise every morning while we ate breakfast and sat on the deck watching it set every night. The pool table in the basement was the perfect way to spend the evening-we only turned the TV on twice. The price was fair for everything we received and we would recommend Skyview to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Murphy area!
My husband and I spent a long weekend at Skyview, in Murphy NC. We took a chance on a new place and it surpassed our expectations. If you enjoy being tucked away in the woods, with an amazing view of the mountains, in a lovely A-frame cabin, you need to book your next trip at Skyview. The cabin has all the special mountain decor, giving it a homey feel, while combining it with contemporary style. A modern kitchen, fully stocked, three full bathrooms, three bedrooms, one on each floor with the master bedroom in a large loft with king size bed, offering a stunning view of the mountains. On the main floor there is a lovely bedroom with a flat screen TV. Downstairs, you will find a pool table, comfy sofa, flat screen TV, and tucked around the corner a bedroom with a full and twin size bed complete with full bath. A covered deck compliments this floor. Arriving, you enter via a long covered porch with ceiling fans, wrapping around to an open deck with gas grill. A stunning view of the mountains takes your breath away. This cabin is perfect for a secluded couple getaway, or a family trip with kids, sleeping seven comfortably, with linen and towels, etc. Although remote, the cabin is a close distance to restaurants, grocery store, gas station, etc. We will definitely return!
My family and I had a great time staying at the Skyview Chalet. The house is spacious with its 3 living levels, warm and inviting. Spectacular views from the deck are breath taking! It was a great place to spend a family vacation. Thanks to the owners! We highly recommend this property!
