About David

We have been residents of Hawaii since before statehood. Or family of four grew up spending time in Malaekahana to escape the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and enjoy the beauty of Malaekahana bay and the activities on the North shore. We recently moved to the mainland to be closer to family.

Why David chose Hawaii

Our fantastic home is located on a very quiet, sandy beach, with warm water, gentle currents and the tradewinds Hawaii is famous for. It is a perfect location for families, friends, couples, and anyone looking to kick back and enjoy time together.

What makes this house unique

Located on a white sandy beach, with warm water and gentle currents

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family was looking for a spot to unwind after a hectic year. We hit the jackpot. The house is comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed. Most evenings we grilled on the BBQ, ate on the covered lanai (outside patio) and releaxed with the Hawaiian breeze rustling the leaves and the sound of the surf rushing up on the beach. Mornings were spent at the beach with a cup of hot coffee, a good book and invogorating walks on the soft, white sand. My only complaint was that we had to leave. We have alredy booked again for next year.

Perfect house on best beach in North Shore

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd stay at this superb house on the best beach in North Shore. Perfect beach for beginner/intermediate surfers, boogie boarders and everyone, without crowd. House is very spacious, great ocean view, clean and full of amenities. Local but very convenient to shopping and casual dining. Friendly and almost charismatic caretaker, Earnie, and his adorable dogs, will really take care of guests. Owner is very friendly and easy to communicate, and we are already booking for next New Year's Holiday!!

Perfect Paradise

  • 5 of 5

My family which included my husband and I, our 3 boys, and my parents stayed here for a week in March 2016. We absolutely loved everything about it. The beach area was great! Waves were perfect..big enough to do some boogie boarding, but not too rough were I was overly worried about the kids. House was clean and had everything you needed. Ernie the caretaker was great and full of information. We actually scheduled to come back March of 2017, but had to cancel. David is great to work with and he refunded our money the same day I contacted him. We will definitely be back as soon as we can arrange it. I can't imagine staying anywhere else!! Thank you so much for sharing your home! Can't wait to return!

Spacious, amazing views, and great hospitality!

  • 4 of 5

The house description was accurate and was more than we expected. The home was spacious and comfortable for our group. It had everything we needed. We loved the location on the beach! The warm breeze, the views, and sounds of the ocean were so relaxing. It was very laid-back and secluded. Our kind of vacation! It is about an hour drive to and from all the hustle and bustle of the city and tourist areas, but we didn't mind it at all. We preferred the quiet and relaxing environment.

We also enjoyed having Ernie and his dogs around. He was great to talk with and very accommodating and knowledgeable. The kids loved him and his dogs. They're already missing them!

Checking in and out were a breeze! Communication with David was great and he was responsive. We would definitely come back and recommend the property to our family and friends! Mahalo David and Ernie for helping us create memories with our families!

Spacious, clean, and beautifully located.

  • 4 of 5

Our family of six had a great week at this North Shore home! Soft breezes and warm surf right outside the door, and on other beaches just a short drive away. Good, close grocery stores had everything we needed. Turtle Bay Reaort, about 15 Minutes drive has a public beach and we all snorkeled there, even our 3 1/2 year old grandson!

Caretaker, Ernie, was helpful with anything we needed. Having a well stocked kitchen and laundry was a definite plus! We would love to return some day!

Great hospitality and amazing views and beach.

  • 3 of 5

Great place and the housekeeper Ernie was very hospitable and catering to all of us. House has a great breeze that blows through which is necessary because there is no AC. Almost all of your needs are stocked in the kitchen.

Cons:

For the price I would have expected some of that money be put back into the house, the BBQ Lid fell off it was so rusted. A lot of the electrical outlets didn't work in the house and continued to go out over our stay. The dryer would trip and surge the house electricity. Ceiling fan in the downstairs room didn't work. Just a lot of little things that should be addressed around the house for the price point.

We definitely enjoyed our stay very much. Checking in and out was very easy. I would recommend this place for people willing to accept the retreat to the beach. It is rather far from most tourists activities.

Thank you for the great stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for letting us know. We've replaced the dryer and BBQ and also replaced the rusted fuse. Apologies for the inconvenience. I am very sorry these happened during your stay.

Wonderful time

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying here! It is right on the beach, and is a very comfortable house to settle in to! There is a beautiful view to wake up to and a lovely breeze to fall asleep. There was plenty of room for all 6 of us, and an abundance of kitchenware, beach toys, bed linens and towels! There were so many great things to do...scuba diving, zip lining (amazingly fun), visit Pearl Harbor, hike Diamond Head, visit Haleiwa for lunch and souvenirs...and just enjoy our walks on the beach.

Property caretaker Ernie is so very kind and also informative! He can give you great recommendations that you won't see in any guidebook, and is great to talk to, with fascinating stories of the dogs he trains. My daughter fell in love with his dogs, every time she took off for the beach alone, she had a protective companion. 😊

If you're looking for a laid-back relaxing atmosphere for your family vacation, with soft air and beautiful sunrises for your morning beach walk, you'll love this home!
