I have been coming to Maui for over 20 years, and I have stayed in 50 to 60 different places from Lahaina to Kapalua. The Maui Kaanapali Villas Resort is by far my favorite because of the overall atmosphere, staff, restaurant and bar, and proximity to just about everything the Maui visitor should want or need.
Wonderful stay at Larry's place. Well appointed condo at a gem of a resort. This is our second stay at Aston Maui Kanapali Villas and we will be back for sure. Clean room with comfortable beds for my wife and I and our two boys ages 9 and 12. Nice newer appliances to use for cooking fresh caught Maui Tuna (courtesy of our 12 year old son) The room was also well equipped with two boogie boards, two beach chairs and a cooler that we used during our entire stay. Nice view to enjoy the morning sunrise while sipping local coffee and indulging in local farm fresh fruits. Every day was spent out at the beach either in front of the resort or close by at DT Fleming, Although we did make a day trip to Wailea for a visit to see Santa and take a wild ride on the Fish Pipe (Highly recommended) The beach in front of the resort was as beautiful and un crowded as I remembered, with soft golden sand and a nice easy surf with a sandy bottom this stretch is impossible to beat. A little secret is that this beach boasts one of the best coral reefs for snorkeling just to the south within a 5 min walk along the beach. Truly a Christmas to remember (our stay was 12/23/16 - 12/30/16) Larry was a great communicator and was a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for a great place to enjoy Christmas.

The resort grounds were stunning. Great pool, amazing restaurant on property and the beach was not crowded. Felt very private. Room was just like the photos, no surprises. Great condition, awesome view and lots of space in the unit. Short drive, free trolley ride or walk to Whalers Village with shops and restaurants. Truly a great experience. Hope to get to come back someday!
We stayed with our two kids and had a fantastic week. The beds were very comfortable and Larry provided plenty of extra bedding for the pullout bed which the kids shared. The kitchen had everything we needed to keep groceries on hand and cook some of our meals at the condo. We did enjoy the food at Castaway Café a few times though. The location and view could not be beat. Just steps from an amazing beach that is perfect for swimming and has a reef that was beautiful for snorkeling. A beautiful place to stay!
My husband and I were very impressed with the condo. It was exactly as described, clean and well-maintained. It had everything we were looking for to make our stay feel more relaxing. The condo was in an excellent location. It was close to the beach and beachwalk, which was great for morning walks. The condo also had a great view of the ocean. The pool area was great, in addition to, the activities that were offered onsite. The staff at the villas were also very helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here for our next visit to Maui.
Working with owner Larry was terrific. He was responsive and helpful. Unit has been nicely updated, and the views over grounds and ocean are lovely to wake up to. We enjoyed our stay.
Larry's condo was perfectly appointed. Everything was there that we needed for cooking and living including some recreational items (boogie board, pool noodles, beach chair). The bed was very comfortable and the view from the lanai was exactly as shown. The location is outstanding; right on a section of Kanaapali Beach that was much less crowded and perfectly swim-able. You can see whales breaching and turtles swimming by just from the beach. Lahaina is a few minutes drive south from MKV and there are many restaurants/shopping there as well as great places a few minutes north (Maui Fish Company, Maui Brewing, etc). Whalers Village was walkable, but there is a free trolley service from MKV right to it and back if you prefer.
Even though it's VRBO you are still welcome to the regular hotel's morning coffee and tea service (which is actually great coffee!) as well as the free Mai tai service and entertainment on Wednesday afternoons. We used the bbq grills nearly every night and always found them clean. We would most certainly stay again, highly recommend.
Maui Kaanapali Villas Resort is centrally located on North Kaanapali Beach. It is within walking distance to Whaler's Village shopping center, with numerous shops and great restaurants. It is only minutes away from Old Lahaina Town with its historical sites, grocery stores, shopping, and fine and budget dining.
Excellent diving and snorkeling can be found within five minutes walking distance, whether at Black Rock or in front of the park.
