About Fishigan Properties, LLC

Our family has been vacationing in Onekama for four generations. We have never seen a more perfect setting. Both lakes provide such unique offerings and to have them both within minutes is what really makes this area unique. Where else can you watch the sun rise on one lake and set on another within a half mile? What we love the most about the area is the fact that once you have experienced Onekama, you always seem to come back. Year after year and generation after generation, this is the place to make family memories.

What makes this cottage unique

Both of this dollhouse and its sister cottage have beautiful knotty pine interiors. They can be rented independently or together. The dollhouse is a cozy get-away, but would also be a perfect grandparent or in-law cottage for families staying in the sister cottage.

Great Cozy cottage, has all you need!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay with our little family in this cozy cottage. Right across from the lake and 5 minutes to the Portage Point Inn, where we attended a wedding. It was a perfect location for our short stay, and wished it could have been longer.

Thanks for sharing your sweet home!

Great location and perfect for two!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I were looking for a relaxing get away. Onekama is a great town and this cottage is so close to both lakes. It is nice to have the privacy of a home instead of a hotel room. The owner is very helpful and the cottage has everything you would need. We stayed here for the same price as a hotel, but got a full kitchen and sitting room, plus a picnic area with a grill. We even got to bring our dog. Everything was very clean. It is a really cute, knotty pine cottage. The public access areas for Portage Lake are so close as are both public beaches for Lake Michigan. I have to be honest that I had seen a couple of comments about the smell of the cottage and I really disagree. My daughter didn't smell anything and she's pretty picky. If I smelled anything, it was the knotty pine paneling and the woods. I only noticed that when it rained and I actually loved the way it smelled when it rained. I think it may even have been the woods outside and not anything in the cottage at all, but it reminded me of my grandfather's cottage in the UP. I thought it was charming. The owner was also really helpful with recommendations. We asked about fun places to hike with our dog and for some restaurant choices. She had great ideas and seemed to know the area well. I would highly recommend this cottage and Onekama.

Not very clean

  • 2 of 5

The unit was not very clean when we arrived. Socks in the fold out bed. Lots of bugs laying around.

Owner's Response: I am sorry that our cottage did not meet your needs. As far as the cleanliness of our cottage, we are almost completely full every season and have primarily returning families without any complaints. I have spoken to our cleaning service to ensure that they continue to be thorough and have refunded your cleaning fee. In this instance, there was a simple human error with scheduling. Our cleaning woman did not have your reservation on her schedule. I was not made aware of any issue until after you checked out. I have since apologized to you and not only issued a refund, but sent an additional refund to compensate you for your inconvenience. However, I provide every one of our guests my personal cell phone number. If you had any issues during your stay, all you needed to do was let me know. I would have immediately sent over my cleaning service or even come to clean it myself. My guests contact me all the time for recommendations, information about area attractions, or even directions. I always answer my phone and take pride in providing the best stay possible to our guests. I cannot correct an issue if I am not made aware of it.
