This house and the hosts are incredible. My wife, 1 year old daughter and I were there under very difficult circumstances (loss of a family member). And the house provided us a home base and an incredible amount of comfort in trying times. The house is a true gem. I don't know when it was built, but it is definitely historic. And the owners have added REALLY cool historic touches with the furniture, sinks, etc. But, they also updated it in a wonderful way. Not only is it totally comfortable for modern life, but the updates were tasteful and in keeping with the house's character. It is truly one-of-a-kind and we loved staying there.
We wound up staying there for over 10 days and could not have been more comfortable. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are very nice, clean, comfortable and well-appointed. And the house has everything you would ever need for cooking, day-to-day life or even entertaining. The Great Room is a nother really cool feature (we added it on and it was totally worth it).
The location is also amazing. The weather wasn't great when we were there, but if it had been better, we could have easily walked to Utica Square and/or the restaurants in Cherry St.
Perhaps most importantly, the hosts are fabulous. They were incredibly accommodating and SO responsive to every request. We cannot say enough about them or all they did to make our stay more comfortable.
I should also note that I had read the previous review about the owners' children living downstairs and that gave us a little concern before booking. But, it was not an issue at all. In ten days, we barely even heard them and only saw them once or twice. When we did see them, they were incredibly friendly and respectful. In retrospect, I don't even know why we were concerned and I hope that won't deter anyone from enjoying this truly one-of-a-kind property.
We hope to stay here again when we return to Tulsa.
Our expectations were exceeded! We loved this beautiful home. Cozy beds, quiet, simply exquisite. Our family enjoyed walking the neighborhood as well. Great location!
This is a great home and our family had a wonderful time in Tulsa for a family wedding. The kitchen is wonderful with a large island that we gathered around often. The beds were comfortable and the living spaces roomy. The side porch is a good place for a morning cup of coffee. Barbara was very helpful and accommodating.
This was a very nice house! It was very well maintained, close to downtown, awesome kitchen and room for all our guests.
We booked for 8 and ended up with 12 due to a double booking at another house(owners were upset but once we explained they seemed OK). The owner met us as soon as we drove up(Lives next door) and asked who the boss was. Our cars were parked on the street due to construction going on in the garage area(not disclosed) and mentioned we would be more than happy to move them off and into the driveway.
Here is where we had a problem and wouldn't have booked had we known. The owners 20 year old soon lives in the basement of the house....There is a locked keypad and deadbolt on the door to his quarters, however this was never disclosed and we spent more time away from the house due to the ladies not feeling comfortable alone there.
We loved the house! It served all of our needs to be able to prepare for a local wedding and entertain afterwards. The house was fully stocked. It was like being at home!
