Central Boulder Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6-8

Newly renovated 1938 home in Old North Boulder, Bungalow Asio is an original farmhouse for the fruit orchard formerly on this land just north of downtown. Asio is an owner-managed, full-time rental for quality-minded travelers and those looking for a beautiful turn-key home for a longer stay. We live next door, available to help make your time in Boulder as comfortable as possible.

Displaying unique artist features inside and out, Bungalow Asio has 1200 sq. ft. and seems much larger. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, Asio comfortably sleeps six, is cozy for two and spacious for the whole family. Additionally, the loft converts to a queen bed. The chef's kitchen is a guest favorite.

An easy one-mile walk to the Pearl Street Mall or to several trailheads, Asio is even closer to shops, cafes, banks, a pub, a pharmacy, and a boutique Whole Foods grocery store. Asio has bikes of all types and sizes for rides or errands (including a Burley trailer, a tag-a-long, mountain bikes, a tandem cruiser, helmets, and locks).

Available for a minimum month stay. Please feel free to write or call (9am-9pmMST) with any questions or concerns. Check out our *** WEBSITE *** for additional information, linked below under Owner Information, or google BungalowAsio.

About Donna & Greg LaLiberte

We have resided in Boulder since the early 90's, Greg originally from Minnesota and Donna from Maryland. We met here in Boulder while doing a meditation retreat and have enjoyed raising our daughter at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Greg is a musician (Brazilian, Jazz, Classical) and Donna is a painter (former dancer), and both enjoy gardening. We live next door to Asio, which we purchased after having been the property managers for the former owner (a good friend of ours) for over seven years. With the mountains, rivers, and canyons, the university, the thriving music and arts scene, and sports to participate in around every corner, Boulder provides everything we look for in life. It's not surprising it seems to regularly top a lot of the lists for good living.

Donna & Greg LaLiberte purchased this bungalow in 2013

Why Donna & Greg LaLiberte chose Boulder

We each moved to Boulder around 1990 and met through Naropa University. After living in various parts of town, we purchased the house next door to Asio in 2001 (which is where we reside) because of its location, the history of a close-knit neighborhood community, and living well close to downtown. When Asio came up for sale in 2012, we jumped at the chance to save the house from the wrecking ball (developers were wanting to build a large, modern house on the property). We spent much of 2013 lovingly and carefully renovating Asio inside and out, striking a balance between preserving and enhancing historic qualities, honoring features from a former artist/carpenter/owner, and including necessary modern conveniences. We think you'll agree we found a good balance.

What makes this bungalow unique

Bungalow Asio is situated perfectly in Boulder, a short walk to shops, restaurants, and cafes, a quick run or bike ride (nice assortment of bikes are provided) to open space trails, three blocks from public transportation, and a fifteen minute walk to the Pearl Street Mall and downtown. Asio is surrounded by an adobe wall and privacy fencing, its property filled with mature trees, flagstone paths and patios, gardens, and three outdoor seating/eating areas. The kitchen makes any chef happy, the antique spiral staircase to the TV/getaway loft charms all ages, the gas fireplace warms up the coldest winter evenings, the swamp cooler (like an A/C) cools the hottest summer days, and the amazing quiet the house calms all souls.

Lovely Boulder Home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in July 2016 at Bungalow Asio. The location of the home was ideal for a work/play vacation in Boulder. The owners were very responsive to our needs during the stay. We would absolutely love to return one day.

Look no further, you found your home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a home away from home in Boulder for our family, as we traveled to Boulder to await the arrival of our baby girl. Donna and Greg could not have been more thoughtful and hospitable during our entire stay (they even brought over dinner once baby was home from the hospital). I agree with all other reviews that it is the perfect long term rental, in a perfect location, with the perfect hosts. The kitchen is fantastic and has EVERYTHING one could want/need to cook family meals. Everything in the home is top quality and thoughtfully selected, carefully maintained and meticulously cleaned. Donna and Greg even created a list of activities we could do with our 4-year-old. They had strollers, bikes, toys, books, baby carrier, etc. ready to go for us in case we needed it. We had plenty of room for a family of three, an au pair, and a new baby for the last week of our stay. We attended a local event or two in the neighborhood, walked to North Boulder Rec Center (awesome indoor pool with fun water slides for children) and many of the fantastic playgrounds within walking distance. It was perfect!

We have stayed in many VRBOs over the years and this one outshines any of our stays by a long shot. You will not regret staying at this wonderful home.

Wonderful Boulder Experience

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed this summer at Bungalow Asio to get a full month Boulder adventure. The Bungalow was the perfect long term rental for us. There were 6 total people (4 adults, 2 kids-3 yrs and 6 yrs) staying very comfortably. Upon our arrival, we saw the magical gardens surrounding the house and enclosed by a wall/fence for total privacy. The landscaping was magnificent and allowed our girls the freedom to safely wander inside and out at anytime. Once inside, the home was perfectly laid out for maximum comfort and enjoyment. My young girls enjoyed the toy nook with lots of wooden and unique toys and books. We loved cooking together in the open gourmet kitchen. Donna and Greg stocked the kitchen with every tool and appliance necessary. Each room was cozy, comfortable and filled with natural light. We ate dinner many nights outside on the back table then afterwards to play cards. The outside couch was perfect for conversations and kiddie cuddles. Greg and Donna have also stocked the bungalow with bikes! Plenty of adult bikes, a trailer for the young ones, a tag-a-long for our 6 year old, and even a tandem. Just the convenience of riding our bikes at anytime (as opposed to renting like we have had to do in the past) made our experience that much better. The location of the bungalow is perfect. You can hop on the bike path easily, ride to Pearl St in less than 10 mins, ride to the pool in under 5 mins, etc. We highly recommend Bungalow Asio for anyone wanting a true authentic Boulder experience.

Home away from home in a welcoming neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 5 with young children, ages 5-12, and Bungalow Asio could not have been any more perfect for our 53-night stay! I researched properties for hours before finding Donna and Greg's place and as soon as I saw it I knew it was the place for us to call home for an extended work assignment in Boulder. The location is ideal, in an incredibly family friendly and welcoming neighborhood with a large community garden and a short walk to the North Boulder Recreation Center. It's a short bike ride down to Pearl Street, which we did multiple times a week. Every detail is attended to in this beautiful, comfortable and homelike rental. The kitchen has a gas stove that we used to full advantage, baking and cooking daily. The kitchen is also fully stocked with spices and staples, high quality pans, and every appliance you think you might want to use - even a crockpot and food processor! The design of everything is beautiful and feels like a real home, not a rental place. The bathrooms have everything you need - shampoo, hairdryer, plenty of towels. There are even beach towels if you want to go to the nearby Rec Center or Reservoir. The beds are very comfortable and the bed linens are high quality. Donna and Greg have bikes and helmets stocked for every size, from preschoolers to adults. We took full advantage of this and biked almost everywhere. I didn't fill my car up with gas for 6 weeks!! I have already recommended this place to so many people. Hands down, the best rental we have ever stayed in, anywhere. Thank you so much, Donna and Greg, for making this such a wonderful travel experience!

Absolutely perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we walked in through the front door we were in love with Bungalow Asio. Donna was such a wonderful hostess, offered to purchase groceries before our arrival (since we got in late), left fresh organic fruit, chocolates, coffee and beautiful flowers throughout. Every detail was thought out...the kitchen fully stocked with everything you could possibly need, the super cute bathrooms with plenty of towels, hair dryers, shampoo/conditioner/soap, bedrooms with the most comfortable beds ever (high quality linens and extras for changing if you like). The living area was super sweet and cozy with a great fireplace, comfy chairs and sofa and spacious enough for our whole family. There were bikes to ride into town (about 3 blocks to the whole foods and 1 mile to pearl street) but walking was also really easy to get to town as well.

I am a property manager in Hawaii so I know what it takes and have very high standards. I can honestly say that our stay here exceeded my expectations and we can't wait to return!!

Thank you Donna & Greg!!

Close by attractions/activities: One block to the north are the Community Gardens and the Iris Gardens, both of which are next door to the North Boulder Recreation Center, which has all the usual facilities, such as lap pool, kid pool, gym, weight room, yoga and fitness classes, tennis and platform tennis courts, volley ball courts, sauna, etc.

Nine blocks straight west is Mount Sanitas and Dakota Ridge, with many miles of hiking/running trails. For single track and dirt road mountain biking, some of the best riding is also straight west of here, many great hour-long loops to be enjoyed, such as up to Betasso Preserve. A fifteen minute drive north brings you to some of the best single track riding around, like Heil Valley Ranch, which is connected to Hall Ranch. And, of course, there are a lot more rides. Five blocks west is the North Boulder Park, a huge open field typically filled with ultimate frisbee on the weekends. Five blocks south is the Casey soccer field and outdoor basketball court. Five blocks north are the Iris Baseball Fields.
