The Bay Area House Rental Photos and Description

Quiet 2 Bed, 1 Bath, private fenced patio, grill, bikes, parks and playground

Romantic, designer furnished 2 bedroom in-law attached unit, walk-able to downtown Mill Valley. Perfect location for outdoor patio living in the sun belt, across from the Park School playground, tennis courts and grassy fields. Walk a few blocks to downtown destination restaurants and 142 Throckmorton Comedy Club or the skate park. Ride our bikes out to Tennessee beach, up Mount Tamalpais where mountain biking was born, or on the bike path to breezy Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge.

High-end, new sensuous furnishings, and a delicious gourmet kitchen with everything from a flour sifter to a dual-fuel downdraft JenAir pro stove. Or if you prefer, our private chef comes Mondays and makes meals to go for the week. Feel safe in a fenced, hypo-allergenic environment that includes radiant heat in etched concrete floors, reverse-osmosis filtered water, and a whole house vacuum. Soundproof walls create privacy from the attached house. ON-demand water heater yields endless hot water.

Dogs are always welcome, and love to lie on the radiant heat etched concrete floors. Small pet door and fenced private yard. There are organic Meyer's lemons from the tree and a large gas grill on the flagstone patio for California outdoor dining under the grape arbor. Off-street parking in a safe neighborhood that's very quiet at night, with a 10 minute drive to San Francisco or Muir Woods redwoods.

This is a great place to write your book. There's a view of Mt Tam from the desk, as well as the happy sound of children walking to school down the public pathway. Drawers, file cabinet, wifi, and supplies make for a fully functional office. The stainless steel kitchen features a duel-fuel downdraft JenAir pro series range with electric convection oven and gas burners. The profile microwave has a minimalist dial look. The leathered-texture black granite counter top drops into an under-mount granite sink, all brilliantly lit by continuous strip recessed LED lights. A powerful garbage disposal turns on with a stainless air switch, and recycling and garbage are picked up Mondays about 8AM. The 22 cubic foot stainless refrigerator has the freezer below for convenience. Filled with storage, the kitchen island has lots of storage and seats for two to chat with the cook. Bigger meals happen around the coffee table or on the courtyard table.

Helmets and casual bicycles are provided in the 'bike barn', where serious cyclists can hang and lock their own bikes. Marin is famous for world class road and mountain bike trails. You can 'ride to the ride' from your home- Tennessee Beach is less than a half hour away, through open space parkland, and the trail head up Mount Tamalpais is less than five minutes away.

This property is very tranquil and quiet. The neighborhood is super safe--crime is almost non-existent. Mill Valley has two Whole Foods markets, a Friday Farmer's Market, and organic sections in the historical market and in Safeway.

We can arrange for talented healers to come to you for healing massage, gentle Rolfing, warm bamboo massage, acupuncture and more. Your hosts are licensed psychotherapists who practice Low Energy Neurofeedback. It's like a brain reboot: an EEG reads your brain waves and echoes them back through the same three sensor wires to the head, triggering a neural house-cleaning. Regrets, worries and repeating survival thoughts vanish. The resulting clarity is like the spacious mind meditators experience on retreat. Headaches, ADHD, migraines, anxiety, depression and arguing are all improved strongly. This is the future of medicine, available to the lucky few now. Couples drop their arguments, business people drop their speech nervousness, athletes drop into 'the zone'. Everyone is at their best. These services are available at a small extra charge.

About Grant Rudolph

As a licensed psychotherapist, I like meeting interesting people. I have studied at Yale and Pacifica Graduate Institute, started businesses, directed a choir and orchestra, and run Echo Rock Neurotherapy Clinic for 25 years. In our nearby office My wife and I use Low Energy Neurofeedback and meditation techniques to make clients efficient and happy and to alleviate problems of anxiety, ADHD, phobias, headaches, PTSD, etc. I also bicycle, garden, and write about our work. I often dance on Sundays at the Open Floor. I serve as a practice guide for Spirit Rock Meditation Center in nearby Woodacre, CA. We are friendly and resourceful with references and connections, but wait for you to ask.

Grant Rudolph purchased this house in 1996

Why Grant Rudolph chose The Bay Area

Connections. The property is well-designed with pricey amenities, yet the wealth of connections to local interesting people and places is priceless. You are not on your own.

Location. 'The flat's' near downtown Mill Valley is the best place to be in the Bay Area. The weather is perfect, sunny but not too hot because of the nearby ocean. You're on the edge of open space forest, and the air is cleaner than anywhere nearby. The city commute is easy, and dozens of activities are conveniently nearby. Best of all, Mill Valley is filled with creative people who pause at the coffee shops to talk.

What makes this house unique

Service. Where else are you offered the services of a chef, a masseuse, an organic gardener, a bike or personal fitness coach, and a neurotherapist? Access to Low Energy Neurofeedback (LENS) may be the best thing that has happened to you in decades, especially if you have ever hit your head or been in a fender-bender.

Comfortable, Central and True Mill Valley!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented Eat, Pray, Bike for for three months as we transitioned from our Mill Valley home to Europe. Victoria and Grant our hosts are great people and accommodated us and welcomed us fully. The place was perfect for having a central location in beautiful Mill Valley. The appliances, lay out, linens and kitchen supplies met our needs. I recommend a stay if you want a lovely garden, great restaurants nearby and an overall central location to one of California's hidden gems.

Great location, really comfortable cottage

  • 4 of 5

This is a really convenient location for Mill Valley - 10 minute walk to Whole Foods / Miller Ave shops, 10 minute walk to downtown. Plus, there is a park right across the street. The cottage itself is nice and comfortable, stocked with everything we needed. Lots of good kitchen supplies, which came in handy for my Thanksgiving baking. There were 4 of us, so it was a bit of a tight squeeze, but overall a very pleasant stay.

Loved my stay here!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is a great location for everything in Mill Valley. There is a bike port that housed my bike that I brought but they have to mountain bikes for use as well. ITHe apartment is part of their home but has it's own entrance and yard and a silencer between their part and the apartment and I never heard anything from their part of the house. The apartment is small but very well done and had everything I needed. The bed was really comfortable. Victoria invited me to join her biking group and that was such an act of kindness and changed my entire trip. I was there for a month and looking to make friends and she paved the way for me. One night there was supposed to be a big storm and she wrote me with asking how they could help me be prepared. Grant ended up taking me all the way to the bus on my last day which was so sweet of him. I really can't say enough about their hospitality and yet I never really saw them so I felt like I was really in my own private home. There is a garden in the apartment area and I had fresh Kale and tomatoes. The washer and driver was in the garage which was really so convenient to the apartment. They worked so fast I couldn't believe it. I really had a great month. I walked to town everyday which is the beauty of the location. You can't go wrong with this property.

We rented this apartment for a full month and it was a great location to to call home base. So much to do in Mill Valley and surrounding area as far as hiking, biking, camping - you name it Marin County has it. The location of the apartment was very convenient for walking to any part of town to enjoy dinner and pick up groceries etc. Lots of parks nearby to walk the dog and enjoy the outdoors.
