About the property

3 Bedroom, 2.5 Baths, Completely Rebuilt In 2013, Best Location In Town

Recently featured in Marin Magazine, this mid-century modern home has a comfortable and classic feel, incorporating jaw-dropping views with abundant light to allow for a warm and inviting feel. This home is perfect for entertaining and is located on what is known locally as one of the, if not THE, best streets in Mill Valley. Walk to downtown Mill Valley in just 10 minutes, or hike The 'Lovell Loop', which is one of the most famous walks in the area. The Lovell Loop is at your doorstep and takes you towards the mountain, by beautiful Cascade Falls, and down Cascade Canyon past the award winning Mill Valley Public Library and into the downtown of Mill Valley and it's fantastic dining, shopping, and entertainment options.

The home itself is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath situated on 2 levels. The entry brings you into a great room with loft like feel, and an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining room, and living room, as well as sliding doors leading to 3 separate decks. There is a nice home office with dead-on views of Mt. Tamalpais with WiFi (accessible throughout the home) as well as access to a wireless printer. A beautiful half-bath (also with Mt. Tam views) and washer and dryer are accessed from the main level as well. One of the decks off the main level offers a nice outdoor gas fireplace- the perfect place to eat dinner on warm summer nights or enjoy a glass of wine after the kids have gone to bed.

The second floor hosts the master bedroom with a king bed, sliders leading to a private deck, and large walk-in closet with cedar flooring, as well as amazing master bath with walk-in shower and deep soaking tub overlooking private canyon views.

The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, built-in bookshelves, desk, picture window with Mt. Tam and canyon views, as well as it's own sliders leading to a deck.

The 3rd bedroom has bunk beds with the top bed being a twin and the bottom bed a double which can sleep 2 small children or one adult quite comfortably. There is yet another sliding door leading to it's own private deck with canyon views.

There is parking for 2 cars in the carport and plenty of on-street parking available as well.

Being in this home you feel as if you are truly on vacation without even leaving the house, yet you are so close to the very best of Marin County, San Francisco, and the Napa and Sonoma wine countries.

About Cherie Simpson

We are blessed to be raising our 3 sons in this wonderful community with it's award winning schools, beautiful scenery, and amazing people. Truly living our dream.

Cherie Simpson purchased this house in 2012

Why Cherie Simpson chose The Bay Area

Mill Valley residents for 17 years, we originally rented the house directly next door to this home and fell in love with Mill Valley, but especially this area, it's weather, and close proximity to downtown in particular. We built a home in a different area of MV, but kept our eyes open knowing that we eventually wanted to return to this area. When this house became available in late 2011 we bought the property almost sight unseen and set about transforming it into our dream home.

We spend summers in Newport Beach, Ca, and love to share our home with family and friends.

What makes this house unique

This home is located in the very best micro-climate in Mill Valley, consistently warmer than most areas, with less fog and wind, and generally the first to clear when fog turns to sun. The views are dramatic and inspiring, and it is a very brief walk to downtown, as well as easily accessible to the many trails and paths of Mt. Tamalpais. The Golden Gate Bridge is just 15 minutes away, Muir Woods 15 minutes away, and Wine Country 45 minutes north.

The property is located in one of the best streets in Mill Valley, offering some of the most beautiful views we had ever seen. The house is within close probity to shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Equipped with a full kitchen for those who like to cook.

Amazing location with best of both worlds (nature and access to city)

  • 5 of 5

We had an incredible week with our two boys in this lovely house. It honestly could not have been improved upon. Very close to GG bridge, so easy to access the city. The house itself had unbelievable views of the valley and Mt.Tam, and so staying there felt like we were in a remote cabin. But a lovely 10 minute walk to downtown Mill Valley allowed us to get coffee each morning, and pick a fun restaurant many of the nights. The house is beautifully renovated, with immaculate kitchen and bathrooms. Small touches really made a difference- fresh high quality towels in each bathroom along with new soap and shampoo, all the relevant pots and dishes to make a nice meal, incredibly comfortable beds and lovely responsive owners. We look forward to staying again!

Great place to stay while visiting San Francisco

  • 5 of 5

Nice home situated on a hill above the town of Mill Valley, peaceful and clean, but close to everything including getting into the city. Sausalito and Tiburon are nearby if you need more restaurant selection, and wine country is less than an hour by car. The home itself is very nicely appointed, great views, and plenty of deck space to enjoy a wine or beer after a long day of hiking in the city or on Mt. Tamalpais. Our family of five was quite comfortable all week. I would certainly return. The owner is responsive should you need anything.

Lovely House, Amazing Location and Views

  • 5 of 5

I spent 5 days here with my family and it was wonderful. The house is gorgeous, extremely clean and comfortable, multiple decks and terrific views. A few minutes from Muir Woods, and 15 or so to the Golden Gate Bridge we were able to pack in so much sightseeing and hiking. Cherie was really helpful and responded quickly to any questions. Awesome place. Thank you!

Beautiful mountain view, beautiful inside

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week with a family of five (3 kids under the age of 8) and really loved it. Very conveniently located near downtown Mill Valley, short drive to Muir Woods and other sights. You wake up with a stunning view of the Mount Tam hillside, helped by the big windows and the southern exposure so it is a very light home, and appears to have been recently updated as it feels very modern. The place is very welcoming for kids with books/toys, a bunk bed in one of the rooms, although be careful of the stairs if you have babies/toddlers, and too far to walk to town with young kids. And Cherie was extremely helpful with ideas on nearby hikes and experiences and very welcoming overall. Highly recommend it.
