Great little house on the water, 3 steps and your at your boat. Deep water dockage, shore power, 1 bedroom 1 bathroom with washer and dryer. Living room has pull out couch and trundel bed. 70ft of dock with fish cleaning table.
Originally from upstate NY. Purchased this property recently for a place my family can visit and somewhere eventually I can stay for a couple months of the year.
Jamie purchased this cottage in 2013
I have been looking for years for a spot that I could just relax and enjoy the water. I've traveled from Honduras to the eastern Caribbean chain looking for a spot to call my own and finally found everything I wanted here.
South Bimini is unique with the old charm of Bahamas but in fifteen minutes you can be at a casino, swim up bar, or fine restaurant eating sushi. Sport fishing, diving, snorkeling is all within your reach. Unless you just want relax on the porch with a cold beverage watching the fish swim by.
The place was absolutely everything we needed. Nice dock, nice beads and good cool A/C. If you have a boat that is a good way to get around but if you can rent a golf cart even better...........Went to two of the local bars and had a great time with locals and visitor.............local were all nice and helpful. Would bring drinking water........they have a soft water system and while it is safe to drink not so tasty..........also paper goods need to be brought in. Lots of condiments and spices.........THANKS so much for the coffee and coffee filters......
I am so happy with our stay here! Jamie was very easy to contact and was very responsive with emails, text/calls. The place is absolutely flawless inside - clean to perfection, lots of towels and beautiful interior! There was only one roll of toilet paper but the convenient store down the road sells all sorts of necessary things like that. Once I took a shower second and did not have much hot water left - so my boyfriend and I would wait 30 minutes in between showers and that worked perfectly. The phone for Bimini calls didn't work often, but the one that called to the US worked well - as long as you remembered to plug it in to charge the night before ;). One more thing to note - 2 or 3 of our mornings we woke to find that the whole island lost power during the night - luckily my underwater camera batteries had charged completely before that or I would have been very disappointed! We would just go to Bimini Sands restaurant and eat breakfast because they always had power. The internet in the house was spotty towards the end of our stay and stopped working, but almost every place on the island has internet.
The people on the island are so nice, helpful, and welcoming! I would recommend anyone to stay in this private getaway - where we always felt safe and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. Make sure to rent a golfcart from D&S and drive on the LEFT side of the road ;)
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your island home. It really seemed bigger than it is. The living/kitchen area was perfect and had everything we needed. The bedroom was big also.We had our coffee out on the deck every morning to watch the sunrise. It was just the 2 of us, but I can see 4 adults being very comfortable. We did go to Bimini Sands and get water for the cooler, which was quite an experience! Both sides of the island are in walking distance for 2 totally different beaches and views. We rented a golf cart for the week from Doyle at D&S and got to see the entire island. We see why you decided to buy a house on Bimini!! We will be back!
You could not need or want more at this ideal location. It is clean and well appointed. Location, location, location! Make sure you come with a boat as it can be docked right out your front door and the canal brings you right out to beautiful salt water life! It's a quick walk to the beautiful beach too! You can rent a golf cart at Bimini Sands too. Also pick up 1 or 2 5 gallon containers of water there for the supplied water cooler. I hope I get the opportunity to stay there again and again! Thank you for such a wonderful accomendation.
4 people in a small area is challenging sometimes. Not a problem here. Fitting right in with old Bimini charm, this little cottage is surrounded by more of the same. I was amazed at how well equipped the kitchen was. How many rentals have spices, a blender, a deep fryer, and an ice cream maker. Easy to get a boat in and out, and protected during any storms.
We loved this home! Our friends stayed next door, which was so convenient! The dock connects the two homes, so we could all hang out together. The home is really charming, very clean, and has a beautiful location on the canal. The home is tastefully decorated, each bedroom has its own bath, which was awesome. The Kitchen is fully equipped and the Family has a large sectional and TV w DVD's, if you actually come inside. Its hard to tear yourself away from the beautiful beaches. The home is on the canal and the sandy beach with turquoise water is just a stones throw away. A golf cart is a great way to see the sites of the island. Shark lab, Fountain of Youth and Nature trail are all fun stops to see. You can easily take the boat to North Bimini too. Great value...we will be back!!!
Bimini is known for its gorgeous waters, adventurous past, and big game fishing.
