Perfect for our family of 4 during Christmas Week

Our family of 4 (ages 50, 48, 25, and 21) had a wonderful stay at this fantastic rental from Dec 22 - 31. The Christmas week on the Big Island is a really busy time at all of the restaurants, beaches, and hotels. What a perfect way to enjoy the big island and escape to a great home away from home for our family time! The golf view is fantastic, so much that we ended up playing golf on Christmas Day. The home is situated on the North course of Mauna Lani. We walked to the Fairmount for dinner and Brown's. The shopping center is right down the street. The kitchen is a chef's paradise. We loved the community pool, although the heater was out of service so the water was a little cool and had a nice "cool" tub, versus "hot" tub. The cold water was great for swimming laps. The owner's stocked this house with so many extras. We loved the location and the house. The beach club was great, a little crowded for Christmas, but we did see whales from the overlook which was a bonus. The snorkeling was excellent at the beach club. Our family loved Hapuna Beach which was about 3 miles away....even though it was crowded everyone had a spot and it didn't feel overcrowded.. Hope we can rent again real soon! Mahalo, Kai and James for the management and to the owners who made their piece of paradise a rental option!

Nice property, great property manager

The best thing about this home is the property manager, James Sullivan. We had a few minor bumps during our 5-week stay, but with each issue James was responsive, prompt and professional. This is a nice home in a great development. The pools and gym are among the best we've seen in Mauna Lani, save for the the Mauna Lani Fitness Club, where you generally have to pay a daily or weekly fee. We used the recreation areas extensively and really enjoyed them. If you plan to cook, you'll be pleased with the assortment of cookware, utensils, flatware, dishes, etc. What is lacking are decent knives. There are two sets, both of which are so dull, I couldn't sharpen them with the sharpener I brought (dull knives are often a problem in rental properties, so I travel with a sharpener and often with my own knives). There is a great desk area in the kitchen that isn't shown in the photographs, but that we used as our "office/charging station" for the electronics we brought with us. When we were there, the internet was spotty at times but that has likely been corrected by now, as James was aware and was planning to have it worked on immediately after we left. This house has nice privacy in the back yard area, but it is directly next to a construction yard where the crews begin working (and talking loudy) between 6:00 and 6:30 AM each weekday. It was never an issue for us as we are early risers, but if you like to sleep in, you'll want to keep the windows closed so you don't hear them. The only real negative about the house for us was that it needs a deep cleaning - the kind where all the cabinets and drawers are emptied, the wood work, windows and doors throughout are washed, the stained furniture and carpets cleaned, and various repairs are done. This is a common situation with rental homes in that many owners need to have their places rented as much as possible, leaving very little time for the kind of extensive cleaning that you need when one group after another is coming in for a week or more.

A fantastic place to celebrate our 10yr anniversary!

The condo was lovely, convenient and private. This location was perfect! Beaches, market, swimming pool and charter fishing were all nearby! Morning coffee on the lanai with my husband was priceless. The property management team went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. We couldn't have asked for a better property management group! Thank you James and Kai for your kindness and hospitality. We're looking forward to our next visit!

Awesome vacation home

Our family of five (3 children, ages 22, 20, 14) had an incredible stay in Hawaii and at this home. The home was beautiful, with everything needed to cook, stay, and play at the pool and beach. The home was convenient to everything. We loved it and wished we could have stayed for longer.

Great condo on a fabulous island!

We are a family of five and had so much fun on the big Island! We did something different every day as there is so much to do! Our condo in Kamilo was the perfect place to unload, clean up and recharge every day. The condo itself is beautiful with high end appliances including a giant TV, which is nice at the end of a long day. There are three spacious bedrooms, the master bath is big enough to do a cartwheel and a lovely little quiet backyard. The pool and fitness center where great. My favorite thing was to get up early to run around the resort and then take a dip in the pool. AHHH! My kids were not always up so early so they could do their workout in the the cool fitness center. This location is great as we are off the beaten path a bit but very close to the grocery store and the Mauna Lani shops. We are also very close to the Fairmont hotel and the Mauna Lani Hotel which has beach yoga every morning at 8:30 (Thursday with Maya was the best!) I recommend that you stay for breakfast as the Mauna Lani offers quite a feast! There is also a private beach just a short drive away with a fabulous restaurant, the Napua, great for lunch or a delicious dinner and you cannot beat the view!

If you are thinking of coming to the big Island and want some SPACE to spread Kamilo #111 is PERFECT!

My husband and I were in Hawaii for a business trip for him, so as we were already there, we decided to fly our children out for a week for vacation. This was in January and this was a wonderful place to be. This house looks beautiful online, but believe me, it is so much more when you are actually there!! It was so clean, and I mean CLEAN.....I am picky when it comes to that! The pictures don't do the master bath is enormous and beautiful. the shower itself is very large and fabulous. Our 2 daughters liked their bathroom, but loved ours and enjoyed using it!! There is a golf cart (and toys) in the garage that we used to run to the grocery store (right around the corner) which we all enjoyed, and to get to the beautiful pool!

My husband and son golfed on the course which this house is on, and they enjoyed it!

They were paired with 2 ladies and they had a lot of fun. TV/Living area was great...very comfortable. In the pictures, notice the doors open completely up to the back yard. it is BEAUTIFUL!! The golf course is right behind, but never any noise from that. The beds were VERY comfortable, and again, am pretty fussy about that too! The kitchen is wonderful to work in, and has almost anything you could need. Our whole family talks about this trip and the home we stayed in quite often. Although the majority of the trip was wonderful because we were together, and had a lovely time, I believe if the home wasn't SO wonderful, that would have had an impact on the memory of it. This is truly a home I would HIGHLY recommend! Hope we could return sometime!!!!!!! Sorry it took so long to leave a reply, wish I would have done it sooner! Thanks for the memories!

Troy and Cecilia were born and raised in Anchorage Alaska, however Hawaii is their second home. They have visited and vacationed in Hawaii for over 40 years and have finally found the perfect location and realized a life long dream of having a second residence there. Kona is the perfect getaway from the long cold Alaska winters: many times a 100 degree difference for only a 5 hour non stop flight makes it very appealing.

We were adamant to have a view from our residence and were lucky enough to get one of the few units with a full unobstructed view of the golf course from our private lanai. Having the beach less than a ½ mile away is the other key to the location of our unit, 4 miles of white sand beach is a blessing to have just a short walk or golf cart ride away. Combine the view, the beach, a 2 acre recreational area with 2 swimming pools and a state of the art workout facility and you have a complete package with something for everyone. Kamilo has restaurants, shopping and a grocery store within a mile of the unit so everything you want and need is at your fingertips.

Built in 2013, this is a newer unit with new and upgraded amenities and appliances. Everything is top shelf and upgraded from the appliances to the ceiling treatments to accent the vaulted ceilings, wall coverings and new window treatments. The pocket doors open the living area to the lanai making it a pleasurable indoor / outdoor environment to enjoy the cool tropical breeze and golf course vistas. The new construction is state of the art with one common wall that is sound protected you would think it is a single family house. We have furnished the home with amenities equal to the level of quality of our upscale home, to make it comfortable, pleasurable and relaxing. Included in the rental is the use of the garage, bicycles, boogie boards, beach chairs, and beach toys /towels etc.. Enjoy your vacation!
