Great first trip for our Girl Scout Troop
This was our small Girl Scout Troop's trip to Savannah. Being able to stay in one place, instead of multiple hotel rooms was ideal. The house is beautiful. It was a great opportunity for the girls to experience staying in a 127-year old home. The floorplans and restoration notebooks in the office were perfect for discussing the importance of maintaining historic buildings. We had great discussions about the pulley windows, wood floor made of small squares, and the craftsmanship of the woodwork designs. Having a kitchen and grocery store across the street allowed us to save money on food during the trip. The game room upstairs was a big hit. After a long day, the girls enjoyed watching movies, learning to play chess, and telling ghost stories.
Family Visit to Savannah
We very much enjoyed our stay in the Harden House, which we picked as part of the cultural experience of our Savannah visit. The house has very large rooms and many fascinating architectural features. It fit our family of five adult couples. Proximity to the playground at Forsyth Park helped for the one little one in our group. We used the nearby Kroger frequently.
A Perfect Experience
Tasked to find a place with separate bedrooms and baths for my 3 siblings and spouses, I happened upon The Harden House. Everyone was thrilled with the choice. The restoration as wonderful especially the parlors which were exquisitely restored. The front parlor was one of our favorite gathering spots. The house is furnished with antique furniture to add an additional feel of late 19th century living (the kitchen and all bathrooms are fully modern).
We appreciated the info on the house's history and restoration. It was excellently located allowing us to take the free shuttle bus or walk to the downtown attractions.
The veranda provided a cool and relaxing spot for us to sit and visit. The dining room, the second parlor, was large enough to easily accommodate all of us.
The woodwork restoration was absolutely beautiful. It seemed like everywhere we looked in the house, there was another fascinating restored feature.
There's no doubt that when we go back to Savannah we'll want to stay at the Harden House.
Lovely home - well appointed and plenty of room; convenient to the entire city
