This was our second stay at Lago Vida. The house is absolutely beautiful and the pool is wonderful. The only thing we had trouble with is the air conditioner in the two upstairs bedrooms does not cool well. We had this same problem during our last stay, so this time we brought several fans and it helped a lot. Overall, this place is wonderful and just like the pictures and description online. Just bring fans and be prepared for lots of stairs!
The overall house is gorgeous. Incredibly impressed by the personal touch that Shelby did with the note to my family. The house is great for entertaining a large party - we had 23 and felt very comfortable in the house. We would recommend this location for any large group.
This property is beautiful and beautifully maintained. The pool and hot tub are spectacular. The bedrooms are very nice. However, we think all bedrooms should have at least a queen size bed, which all did except 1. The most fun room was the bunk room where 5 grandchildren slept. They loved it! Beautiful lake and surroundings. Our favorite place to eat was On the Rocks. Good food and Austin style music. My daughter proclaimed the restaurant better than being in Cabo, which might be a stretch, but am thrilled that she had such a good time! Only caveat is that if anybody has mobility issues, this is not the house for them. Multiple levels. But it worked beautifully for us and we had a great time. Great outdoor cooking area.
Lago Vida was the ideal location to reunite our 3 families. There was space for everyone to feel like they had privacy in their own luxurious rooms AND enough space for our larger gatherings. Lago Vida was absolutely perfect!!
We were wowed and really enjoyed ourselves. We took a tour of the lake and were picked up right at the dock. Pool got good shade in the late afternoon. I would recommend this home and hope to come back again sometime!
Some things to note that were a bit challenging for our particular group:
*There is a limit on cars allowed at the property, but our large group was able to manage after some careful planning
*Lots of stairs both in that it's three stories and the number of one-off steps
-Challenging for the great-grandfather of the group as there was no bedroom on the main living floor.
-Also challenging for the 1.5 year old who could not do stairways by herself (but not for lack of trying), so one could never take eyes off of her
A decription of the layout:
Entrance is on the top floor where there is the MIL suite (off the courtyard before you enter the main house), the room with two queen beds, and the bunk room. You then go down to the second level, which has the kitchen, dining room, bar, living room, large balcony, and two half-baths. On the bottom floor, there are two master bedrooms. The pool and casita are at this level also, but to get to them you either cut through one of the bedrooms or take one of the two, outdoor staircases that come from the second floor. The outdoor kitchen is about halfway down one of these staircases (a bit removed from the kitchen).
There are many one-off steps on the second floor that can be hard to see. You take a step up to the kitchen, and then down to the pantry. The thresholds between wood and tile floors are also a bit high. The living room is down 3-4 steps. We put chairs there so nobody would miss it and fall off or stub a toe...again.
Welcome 15 friends/family for a weekend. Had a wonderful weekend of meals (Becca Events Catering, Coopers BBQ) wine (brought our own), rented JetSki's and boats each day from Splash Rental - Splash set up an off dock anchor system for us.
Amazing food. Fantastic construction quality and furniture quality.
