Overview

About the property

'Buscarro'- spectacular Denia holiday accommodation for large groups

Looking for something quite different? Buscarro is an exceptional property in a fabulous location with gorgeous views just outside Denia town accommodating up to 12/13 people: unique villa, huge pool in spacious tropical setting near sea/sandy beach.

Buscarro has a lovely secluded setting, being surrounded by orange groves, yet within walking distance (or a very short hop in the car) to the whole area's best stretch of sandy beach, plus bars and excellent restaurants. The extensive private tropical gardens and unusually-designed boomerang-shaped pool create an environment found in few other rental properties. Within the grounds there are various open and shady terraces for daytime lounging, rooftop terrace for evening cocktails, table tennis, lawns, orange/lemon grove, almond/pomegranate/grape/olive/fig and other fruit trees, colourful bougainvillea and many palm trees of different types. Cacti and other succulents abound. The views across the orange groves to the mountains are fantastic. Buscarro offers considerable space for large groups and the facilities include 40 inch SAT TV(English channels), DVD and free WIFI. The accommodation is full of Spanish character. Most visitors find it hard to tear themselves away whilst staying here!

The accommodation consists of a substantial 3-bedroom finca-style villa (El Buscarro), with a separate studio apartment above, and across the pool a 2-bedroom stone cottage (the Casita) which is roomy and full of character. Each of the three is self-contained. There are 4 outside dining areas in total (1 rooftop, 1 poolside, 2 terraces with awnings). Young couples and teenagers particularly love the separate studio. The entire property can accommodate 2 or 3 families holidaying together, a family with grandparents joining them, or a large group looking for something unusual to accommodate everyone. Perhaps a special occasion or function? Take a look at some of our guest comments later.....people have had some very special holidays at Buscarro. It provides great flexibility in an exotic environment that is rarely available for such group combinations.

* At Buscarro (Denia holiday accommodation) we offer exceptional flexibility as we take bookings for any length of nights starting on any day of the week, providing there is a minimum 7 nights (14 in Winter), however most bookings are for 10-14 nights and nearly all peak season bookings are for 2 weeks.

**We are the actual owners of Buscarro (Denia holiday accommodation). Nearly all our guests deal and book directly with us (Denia holiday accommodation), especially all our regular ones, and importantly avoid additional website charges this way. Booking Buscarro directly with the owners offers extra security and peace of mind.

Out and about: There is a comprehensive manual at the property covering everything you need to know for your stay. We've devoted a section to getting out-and-about in the area. Take a leisurely trip to the Jalon Valley and stop for lunch at one of the many Spanish villages, or visit the area's coastal headlands for wonderful views, sheltered coves, fishing and snorkelling. For families looking for activities beyond the pool and the beaches, there is a Safari Park, Terra Mitica Theme Park and Aqualandia Water Park, all within 30-45 minutes drive. For golfers, there's a rich selection of quality courses nearby including the renowned Club La Sella less than 10 minutes drive away, plus clubs at Javea, Oliva and Calpe. For tennis there's Denia Tennis Club. Try horse-riding or biking through the surrounding orange groves. And of course there are all the beach sports to hand: volleyball, jet skis, diving, boating, windsurfing and quad biking. Just let us know about anything else and we'll locate it for you

Restaurants, Bars & Fiestas: There are literally hundreds of quality restaurants in and around Denia, ranging from very exclusive ones to excellent good-value establishments offering daily set menus. Nearby, there are sunset restaurants set right on the beach that are suitable for families, allowing parents to relax while children play on the sandy beach in front. Also here are ice-cream parlours, bars, and various shops including a chemist and a newsagent . In the town there are numerous traditional tapas bars.

A whole section of our Guest Manual provides bar & restaurant tips for our guests during their stay.

Denia has a thriving and sophisticated late night bar scene in town at weekends, and particularly out on the new marina all week during the Summer months.

We hope you'll be lucky to catch a fiesta, bull-running or one of the Denia's many processions along the town's main streets as Denia's claim to fame is having the most fiestas in Spain. Check with the Tourist Information Office.

Buscarro's Grounds: Our extensive tropical gardens and unique pool provide a setting that is very special for a private rental property. Children love exploring the grounds, finding dens and hiding places. The grounds are watered 2/3 times a week by sprinklers and water pipes to keep them lush in the Spanish sunshine. At different times of the year you may be able to pick fresh from the trees: almonds, figs, olives, grapes, pomegranates, clementines, and of course oranges and lemons for home-made orangeade and lemonade. There is electric gate entry into the grounds and a shady parking area for a number of vehicles. Families with small children will find the property secure. The studio apartment has its own entrance and is located above the main house. Off the casita is a courtyard filled with bourgainvillea and other colourful succulents. From here there are spiral stairs to the rooftop terrace and wonderful views for evening drinks. In the evening there is attractive lighting to the pool and palm trees.

Rental prices include electricity, water, heating, air conditioning, bedding and bed linen, towels (except pool/beach towels) and all the normally required crockery/pans/glasses/cutlery etc for dining and for the kitchen. We also supply some tea/coffee/sugar/milk/water/condiments/cleaning products to help new arrivals get started. The owner pays for the pool and gardens to be maintained weekly. Cheap airlines' flight prices are significantly higher at weekends. Consequently, most of our guests, particularly those returning for a second or third time, request midweek to midweek rentals. Most of our bookings are therefore based on midweek arrivals and departures, but we are completely flexible.

* We can arrange for some shopping for late arrivals on advanced request.

** For the benefit of all our guests, on booking we recommend websites offering the best car hire deals for the area.

*** Secure your preferred dates now for 2018 as Buscarro books out very early for peak weeks.

Fantastic holiday destination

  • 5 of 5

Really great villa for large groups. I went with my boyfriend and family and the separate casita was perfect place for my boyfriend and I to stay if we wanted time away from everyone's else.

The pool is huge and really good fun and there's a selection of floats.

There's also a ping pong table and a BBQ and a roof terrace over looking the orange groves which is beautiful when the sunsets, so there is plenty to do!

House is always clean and well maintained.

Would highly recommend this to families or a large group of friends looking for a nice relaxed holiday together. It's an easy flat walk to the beach and not far to get to Denia town which is stunning. Loads of little traditionally Spanish tapas restaurants and bars!

Can't wait to go back!

Lovely villa with huge pool

  • 5 of 5

Buscarro is a beautiful villa with a huge pool with additional accommodation which was just perfect for our large extended family of nan and grandad, two families of four and our sister , who all had their own space to stay in. The pool was huge and the four kids plus their four kids! Had a great time both swimming and using the inflatables found in the pool house. We spent many a happy hour by the pool relaxing on the sun loungers or retreating to the many shady areas around the pool when the sun was too much.

Although you could do the villa without a car we found it fairly essential for getting the food and water back from the supermarket, and to pop into Denia itself although you cold pop on the bus from the beach. The walk to the beach was about fifteen to twenty minutes depending on the kids mood and the temperature. Loved the sandy beach which was clean and not over populated, with sunbeds and umbrellas to hire.

The owner Mike was most helpful right from our first contact with him to book, meeting us at the villa on arrival and making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. He came back to check later in the week to see if we needed anything and gave us some good recommendations for places to eat, you must try out the German restaurant near the beach, food was great and really good value.

Hopefully we will have the opportunity to return to this villa or the smaller one near the beach Mike owns.

Thanks for letting us stay

A Perfect Piece of Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

Buscarro is an amazing oasis of rural, rustic beauty which is totally private and yet within walking distance of the most beautiful sandy beach, if you can tear yourself away from the beautifully kept exotic gardens and enormous, clear blue pool! Without doubt, the best villa we ever stayed in!

The rustic Spanish farmhouse had a lovely dining terrace where everyone typically congregated to eat but it has a self contained studio apartment upstairs and the separate Spanish casita which both gave privacy when we all fancied time on our own.

There is a fabulous top terrace above the casita where we would all sit with our cocktails to watch the sun go down over the orange groves - simply amazing!

Buscarro is, in my opinion, perfectly located as it has the feeling of being tucked away but is actually close to both the beach and the fantastic town of Denia which has so many lovely squares full of eating places and interesting bars. You need a car to get into town but it's not far at all and there were buses frequently running along the seafront into the town.

Superb holiday accommodation

  • 5 of 5

It took us ages to choose to stay at Buscarro since I was taking the responsibility for 11 other people. What joy when we arrived… the place is stunning. Everyone in my group was delighted at the choice throughout our holiday.

We've stayed at several private villas in Spain and Portugal over the last few years, and this one is really rather special, and unique due to its layout and space. The gorgeous tropical gardens and gigantic pool absolutely made the holiday for us, and we loved the rooftop terrace for drinks early evenings (where the sunset is amazing) and the big Spanish BBQ. The owner is extremely helpful too from first enquiry to departure and speedy deposit return.

The Guest Book at Buscarro is packed with favourable comments from past guests – no surprise. I would agree with them all that the location is perfect too, in amongst the orange groves and a leisurely flat walk to the beach where there are lively bars and restaurants. The lovely sandy beach is about the best we've experienced throughout Spain and very child-friendly too, and there are many activities for teenagers and adults too. We loved the beach bars!

You won't be disappointed if you book to stay here!

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Buscarro, perfect for our large family holiday - the bonus of separate casita and studio allowed us space to accommodate early rising toddlers and sleepy teenagers. The pool is just wonderful and plenty of room for a larger group. We had everything we needed and more -plenty of sun loungers, pool toys, beach equipment, and the same in the properties, ample crockery, glasses and cutlery so you can be lazy about the washing up, two washing machines clothes airers and washing lines, hair dryers I could go on but if its not there you won't need it. We would highly recommend this villa and gardens which are stunning. Would strongly recommend a car but the beach is walkable and pleasant along very quiet lanes, you can catch a bus into the town easily from the beach. Denia is a lovely small city and full of excellent restaurants and bars, quality shops and picturesque squares near the port and in the historical area narrow streets . All very Spanish and very little evidence of tourist trappings. We will be back

Denia is a beautiful typically Spanish coastal town situated between Valencia and Alicante, and is made picturesque by its setting at the base of Montgo mountain, with its own 'ramblas' style main street, castle and quaint old town opposite the harbour. In contrast to much of Spain, the area has a green feel to it due to the orange groves that surround the town. Frequently quoted as having the most ideal climate in Europe, with pleasant cool breezes during Summer afternoons, it has a thriving fishing port, offers boat trips along the coast and daily ferries to Ibiza/Majorca. During summer evenings the harbour area restaurants buzz and there is a nightly street market. There are many excellent quality shops and some of the best of the area's hundreds of restaurants are at the new marina. One of the joys all year round is taking a long stroll up the beach towards Denia harbour. The golden sandy beach retains an unspoilt nature, is ideal for small children, and sunsets can be spectacular.

Other Activities: jet-skiing, snorkelling, kite-surfing, go-karting, quad biking, safari park
