Bright, spacious and comfortable apartment located in Palermo Hollywood, the most trendy neighborhood in Buenos Aires. The “Algodonera” is an old factory fully renovated into a residential building with gardens, swimming pools, gym, and huge grassy area, which make of this place a unique oasis in the city. The building has its own restaurant, laundry room and 24 hours security. Very close to public transportation, grocery stores, pharmacy, dry cleaner, restaurants, bars, designer stores and antiques stores.
This 785 sq. foot (73 sq. meters) loft has 1 bedroom upstairs that opens to the living room with 1 queen bed. Very high ceilings, original wooden floors, kitchen and 2 full bathrooms with very nice details are the remarks of this unique apartment. Downstairs, the living room has a double futon bed and a big window with great city views. Kitchen totally equipped with a nice countertop and stools: Refrigerator, Gas range oven, juicer, microwave, dishes, and coffee maker. Towels and linens are provided.
Wi-Fi, broadband, AC system, Central Heater, 2 Smart TVs (one upstairs and one downstairs) with Cable and Netflix and telephone. Local US phone number with unlimited calls (to the US and very low rates outside of US).
My husband and I are both Argentine natives but have been living in Los Angeles for the last 14 years. We have two kids who enjoy traveling as much as we do.
Our apartment in Buenos Aires is our home whenever we go visit our friends and family. We live in Silverlake, the 'Palermo' of LA.
Viviana purchased this apartment in 2007
Palermo neighborhood and adjacents (Colegiales, Chacarita, Palermo Soho and Hollywood), are THE neighborhoods to be in. Easy access to public transportation, subway and a lot of different options to dine, shop and walk. The old and the new are mix together in this friendly area. We grew up in this neighborhood so it has a sentimental value too.
Great spot for a Buenos Aires stay. Walking distance to the green and red lines. Great restaurants everywhere. Quiet building. Amazing view.
Upstairs bedroom & full bath with living room, kitchen and full bath downstairs. Nice building with 24 hour security and a wonderful rooftop pool & sylvan park. There is also a cafe on the rooftop. Negatives? The gym is limited - cramped and no AC. The location is convenient as a supermarket is in the building and there are myriad restaurants and cafes within walking distance and probably a hundred more by $5 Uber ride (Uber always arrived within 6 or 7 minutes). It is not a touristy area - you get to see the real BA - and the area is full of 20 and 30-somethings. Recoleta & Puerto Maderas are 30 minutes away by Uber (and usually about $15). Viviana, the owner, and Karina, the property manager, were both wonderful - very attentive (but little help was needed - the place was good to go).
The loft was was cute, clean and in close proximity to loads of great restaurants, bars and shopping. The property manager was waiting to let us in to the apartment and gave us tips for the neighborhood. Additionally the building had an amazing pool, gym and cafe up on the roof! I definitely recommend this spot for and individual or couple wanting to stay in Palermo Hollywood.
This was my first time using VRBO, visiting Argentina and obviously staying in this awesome apartment. I highly recommend visiting and have no doubts that I will be back again soon myself. The apartment was clean and felt just like home. Two bathrooms was plus. The small balcony was also a great place to have breakfast and read a book. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was absolutely perfect. Quick and safe walk to bus stops, the metro and train station. From there, access to the whole city was a breeze. Also, it is within walking distance of great restaurants and supermarkets. For being in a city area, the apartment and surrounding streets were surprisingly quiet and safe. The building had a pool, a fantastic courtyard on the roof, and a modest gym. If Buenos Aires itself wasn't so appealing, I could have easily spent the whole trip in the apartment. Carolina, who helped us settle into the apartment was outstanding. She answered near daily transportation questions to help me throughout the city. It was a great stay and I recommend it without reservation to anyone else.
We stayed at La Algodonera in December 2014. The apartment is very nice, bright, spacious, clean and a bit industrial, has 2 bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen with all kind of utensils you will possibly need if you're a self-caterer like ourselves. The manager of the unit, Karina, was very helpful and welcomed us at the apartment upon our arrival and provided us with all the insider information we needed (our very first time to BA), showed us around the whole building and took her time to tell us about the city, how to get around, where to go, what to do and stuff. The property has its own pool which is on the top of the building and is just superb, and if you get tired of swimming just switch to the beautiful roof garden overlooking the neighborhood. The building has also a nice gym and last but not least: in the same building, just around the corner there is a good supermarket (VEA). Plenty of nice cafes, bars and restaurants just in walking distance. The property is located between two subway lines (B and D, both about 10 minutes away) which get you straight downtown, buses are just around the corner. The neighbourhood itself is very safe. If you seek a nice place to stay in BA for your vacation, not downtown but not too far away from it, I can truly recommend it.
the owner, viviana, was very kind and attentive.dealing with her was a pleasure for our family.the apartment is very well located, near food stores, bars and transportation.the unit was cozzy and clean and the on spot manager ,karina, took really good care of us.we'll come back for sure!!!Thanks vivi and karina
