We have been blessed to come down to the gorgeous, quaint island of Tierra Verde for the past 25+ years. Located roughly 25 minutes from Tampa International Airport, our waterfront retreat is conveniently located near prime beaches, delicious dining and fun attractions.
Condo complex amenities include three clay tennis courts, three pools and hot tubs, a clubhouse, gated entrance, reserved parking spot for your rental car, walking paths where you'll see manatees, dolphins and a variety of fish, a library, fitness center and view of the beautiful Sunshine Skyway bridge.
NOTE: WE DO NOT HAVE A MARINA SLIP. ALL ARE PRIVATELY-OWNED IN THE COMPLEX.
Condo amenities include full kitchen with new appliances, breakfast nook, dining table (great for games of UNO, Parcheesi and Boggle!), breakfast bar, comfortable living room with new furniture and queen sleeper sofa. For leisure, two sets of golf clubs, fishing equipment, beach chairs and toys are provided. All linens (including beach towels) are provided as well as in-unit washer and dryer. For those with a little one, we also have a pack and play, high chair and umbrella stroller.
Enjoy sipping on your beverage of choice on our beautiful lanai and forget all the hustle and bustle. It overlooks the Boca Ciega Bay, association marina and intercoastal waterway.
We have opened our condo to monthly renters, for a minimum of three months per the condo association rules. The purpose of renting is to generate enough to cover the costs to maintain the property - we are competitive, if not lower, than other rentals in the area.
Traveling to and from the condo is easy.
Look for deals into Tampa (TPA) or Clearwater (smaller airport). Both are under a 1/2 hour drive to the condo.
Delta tends to have excellent rates and non-stop flights readily available.
Spirit has good fire sales, but they charge for carryons and miscellaneous extras, so that might add up.
AirTran has very few direct flights and will stop in Atlanta on the way down. Typically, they get delayed.
Rental cars are available at the airport. If you are a Costco member, we have found great rates through them.
If you don't plan on going anywhere, there are taxi and shuttle services.
There are tolls throughout the area. The latest pricing for the Pinellas Bayway is $.75. Going to Ft. Desoto is $.50. If you want to drive over the Sunshine Skyway, it's $1. You can rent a PASS system through your rental car provider that will just charge you at the end to your credit card. Typically it's $2.95 for the unit plus toll costs.
GPS on your phone will probably be fine instead of renting one. It's an easy drive to the condo from the airport and the area is filled with connected barrier islands.
We also offer WIFI at the condo, so any WIFI-enabled devices will be able to connect to look up driving information as well.
Printing your Boarding Passes
There is a WIFI-enabled printer/copier/scanner that you can print your boarding passes on for your convenience located in a drawer in the master bedroom.
We live in Michigan and love sharing our special waterfront retreat with others!
Betsy P purchased this condo in 1989
What started as a place for my grandparents to escape Michigan's harsh winters, has transformed into a comfortable getaway in a sleepy beach town. Close to everything - great beaches, great dining, museums, driving distance to Disney and the other theme parks.
Sunsets are incredible. Dolphins and manatees can be spotted often. Osprey's swoop among the tall palm trees and the area is just amazing. For the price, especially, you cannot beat this! We worked very hard to transform the condo from a grandparent-like home to a fresh Floridian getaway with appropriate colors and textures.
It's our last morning here -- just packing and cleaning up -- but can't stop looking out at the wonderful view. We are sad to go, but have had such a lovely trip, and feel so blessed to have had this beautiful getaway to call "home" while we were here. Thanks so much for sharing your slice of paradise with us!
Stayed for two months and loved it! So much to do in the area and explored a few new areas this year. Owners were immediately responsive to a few issues that came up. Can't wait to return next year!
Thanks so much to Betsy for renting out her cozy condo to us. We stayed for a week in June when our kids were at a program at nearby Eckerd College. The owners were wonderful to work with and went the extra mile providing info about the local area and recommendations for places to visit and eat. We enjoyed the peace of the condo setting. Tierra Verde itself is more peaceful and scenic than the crowded areas of St. Pete and Tampa, which are a stones throw away. We enjoyed visiting Fort De Sota park and just fishing in the condo complex itself. My son caught what he swears was a 30" snook right off the docks in front of the condo. The pools and grounds are kept pristine and the local restaurants have delicious food. No complaints unless you are looking for a large, flat screen tv to spend your hours inside the condo. But why would you want to!? Betsy's place is clean and well-decorated, with washer/dryer, a nice kitchen, beautiful balcony, and covered outdoor parking. We would definitely recommend to a couple or small family and would love to visit again!
We recently spent six weeks at this Tierra Verde condo and had a hard time leaving paradise. The condo was clean and well-maintained. The listing description aptly reflected the appearance of the unit and the amenities. The owner was responsive to our questions prior to booking, and responded appropriately to a couple issues that came up during our stay. We would recommend this condo to family and friends, and we can't wait to return again next winter. We highly recommend that you check out Ft. De Soto park with beaches, picnic areas, kayaking/canoeing and biking/walking trails. The pool and hot tub were wonderful, and the dolphin shows along the intercoastal waterways were an added bonus.
Anything you might want to do, you'll find in the surrounding area. Disney is a manageable 1.5 hour drive. Ft. DeSoto has kayaking, bike rentals, beautiful beaches, shuttle service to Egmont Key (a historical island with protected tortoises) and a historic fort.
