We have lived in Oppede, 10 minutes from Menerbes, since 2005, where I work on a website all about the Luberon.
Owner purchased this House in 1998
Why Owner chose Ménerbes
It was sitting there at the top of Menerbes with the best views in the village but hardly any windows to see them from. It was the village notary's office so views were not important. In renovating I added big windows everywhere and made it into a home.
What makes this House unique
The view! And being in a wonderful village with all amenities, but tucked away at the top so it is quiet and inspiring

Lovely visit to Menerbes staying in this fantastic and unique house. Every attention to detail, very fully equipped with outstanding panoramic views.

Beautiful home with incredible view in a charming tiny village
The house is located in the center of a uniquely unspoiled French village in a hill. The home is beautifully and tastefully renovated, with all comforts and amenities you would hope for. The village is very small, there’s one or two restaurants and a couple of shops so if you want something that’s away from tourists and quiet, it’s a great choice, 10-15 min drive to many other villages. We lived our stay.
Amazing views, wonderful location, good facilities
We had a lovely week in Menerbes at Paolo's house. The views from the house are incredible. We enjoyed watching the morning mist rolling down the valley and the evening sunsets. The autumn colours were spectacular! We'd never been to Provence off season before and found it a lot quieter and more relaxing. Menerbes was ideally positioned to see the Luberon villages. We had wonderful days in Lacoste, Bonnieux and Rousillion. A morning visit (before the crowds) to Fountain de la Vacluse was a highlight of the trip. We found plenty of local restaurants open though some were shut this was not a problem. St Remy a short drive away was fun on Halloween night with all the local children running around collecting sweets from the shops. Paolo was very helpful during our stay and the facilities at the house were great.
Magical Menerbes Two and its captivating views
This was our fourth consecutive visit to Menerbes Two. It seems returning to this peaceful place has become an habitual joy.
The house is well appointed in a comfortable manner and is spacious, clean and welcoming.
Nestling into the hillside, it sits high above the village with an extraordinarily commanding view towards the Luberon. These views have the effect of bringing the outside in. The ever changing light across the vineyards to the wooded hillside is, quite simply, captivating.
The village restaurants and cafes mean cooking can be kept to the minimum although the kitchen is an inspiration to any aspiring self-catering chef!
Menerbes is well placed to tour the stunning local environs and explore the other charming hilltop villages. The lively local markets are a delight and give a great flavour of Provencial life from the evocative scent of fresh herbs and tempting cheeses to that ubiquitous lavender.
Coustellet is the nearest Sunday market and has a Super U for your supermarket needs. Back in Menerbes there is an independent grocery store close at hand. The village bakeries are only a short walk to satisfy that morning croissant craving! On the way back you may catch an enticing glimpse of the distant Mont Ventoux summit.
Our thanks to Paolo for all his attention to detail and thoughtful house management.
Menerbes Two is a great place to relax and unwind and we just keep coming back!
Menerbes is at the very the heart of the 'Golden Triangle' of the Luberon, formed by the picture-postcard, medieval hilltop villages of Menerbes, Gordes, Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Lacoste, Oppede-le-Vieux, and Roussillon. These rise up majestically from the valley of vineyards and fruit orchards below, and everything is overlooked by the Luberon mountain itself, a beautifully preserved natural park. All the villages are 5-15 minutes away. There are daily markets at a different village very day of the week. Menerbes is an hour from Marseille and Nimes International Airports, 45 minutes from Avignon train station. Within an hour's drive are Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Arles, St Remy, Orange, the Rhone wine trail. The French Riviera is 2 hours away, Italy and the Alps 2.5 hours.
