About Laura Heeke
I grew up in Rogersville and this was our families farm. My husband and I have the passion to save it and let others enjoy what we do.
Laura Heeke purchased this Cabin in 1960
Why Laura Heeke chose Rogersville
This is my family farm. I was blessed to be the one to carry on to save the farm. My father bought the farm in the 1960s and in 1976 he found the cabin in a neighboring community, bought it, and he and one other man tore it down, piece by piece, numbered each one and put it back on his property. Each cut of wood has his touch and heart in it. I played on this farm as a child, picked strawberries to sell to friends, laid tobacco stakes for my brothers to stalk rows of tobacco, rode our horses, feed our cows, and made castles in the hay loft. Even though it is not a working farm today, we hope it brings back a simpler time in life. There is additional cabins on the property that my parents built together. They collected antiques and made a wonderful little piece of history on the back of the farm. It is now in disrepair, but we hope to be able to save some of it, but it is available to explore.

Historical cabin experience
We enjoyed our stay in this historical home. It’s private, cozy, and nicely decorated. An experience of really living the backwoods of
The whole experience was just outstanding. My family was relocating to Tennessee and we needed a place to stay while we closed on our new home. Laura was so incredibly nice and supportive of our needs and was so accommodating when we had to change our dates. The cabin was impeccably decorated and very cozy. I highly recommend it!
The place is fantastic. We travel for work and love staying there....
The Cabin is fabulous. It is nicely decorated and perfect for our stay. We have planned to stay again.
Not our first time at the rodeo!
This is the second consecutive year that we have stayed at Idle Hour. It is perfect for all our needs - spacious and quiet, convenient but secluded.
Laura is always so accommodating and helpful. Makes every trip a pleasure.
