Overview

Aegina Island House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 6 (max 8 with small children)

Beautiful newly built house with pool and stunning sea views. Situated on the south west part of Aegina island, between Aegina town and the fishing village of Perdika, this modern house has all the comfort and facilities you could wish for a relaxing holiday. The house and the ample terrace offer one of the best views over the sea and the islands of Moni and Angistri. You will enjoy countless breathtaking sunsets.

Local information: There is a supermarket in Perdika, about 2km away, with good fresh fruits and vegetables. Also in Perdika, in the bakery opposite the supermarket, you will find one of the best 'chocolate croissants' ever tasted before!

The first taverna down from the house, called 'Nikkos', is also one of the bests around. To eat out, we also recommend 'Number 13' in Perdika, 'Tassos' in Marathonas as well as the fish market in Aegina town.

There is a beach just down from the house as well as a pontoon, perfect for 'early morning swimmers'!

'Michael's beach' is ideal for young (and less young) children! The sand, the shallow waters and the relaxed atmosphere makes it a lovely place to spend a late afternoon.

A regular bus service runs from Aegina to Perdika (and back). 'Aeginitissa', where the house is situated, is on its route.

Entertainment and activities.: A lot of 'day trips' can be done from the island. 'Moni island', a natural reserve with wild animals, a lovely beach and a bar, is only 10 min. away from Perdika's port (boats depart every hour).

'Angisrti' island is accessible by ferry from Aegina port. We recommend to put your car on the ferry and tour around Angistri island, its beaches, coves, and rocks to swim or dive from.

'Athens' is also near by, as the port of Piraeus is only 40min by fast boat from Aegina. We recommend to visit Athens in the low or mid season as the summer heat can be quite strong in the city.

The ancient amphitheatre of 'Epidavros' is also accessible by boat (to Methana) and then by bus, taxi, or car to Epidavros. There is a festival of performances in the summer and shows with transport are organised by the local tourism office.

Of course, the bustling town of Aegina has a wide range of bars, restaurants, clubs and shops and 'open air' cinemas. There is even a small water park for children.

And if you want a change from Greece, you can also have a look at our property in Portugal!

Geweldige vakantie in een uniek kader.

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful sunsets, cool villa, fabulous island

  • 5 of 5

Our week at Sunset House was fabulous. We arrived during a heat-wave at the end of August 2012 (40c average) so the shutters and air conditioning were a very welcome addition. The villa was an excellent place to stay for our family of five (three teenagers and two adults).

We spent mornings visiting places before it got too hot, then most of the afternoons we spent snorkelling in the crystal clear waters or splashing around in the pool. Of an evening, we'd watch the sunset and head off for a meal around 9pm.

One thing, that was a talking point for us, was if we would manage the short steep drive up the hill to the villa - we had a hire car so were not that worried - and since we were on holiday we didn't make the effort to walk!

We went to the open-air cinemas on two occasions (once we found them!) and ate out a couple of times in the main town as well as locally. (Babs fishy restaurant who also do catering - not sure how you spell it in Greek 'Mhyxena'? - on the sea-front near to the Olympia open-air cinema, near our end of the main Aegina town was great - not just for fish either!) We also tried Perdika and Moni island for lunch.

We really thought everything went very smoothly; Eleni would respond quickly by email/text when needed. We loved the helpful photo/pictures on the walls and as an added bonus... the pool was cleaned mid-week too.

Perfect!

simply wonderful

  • 5 of 5

It's the first time we came to Greece - and we were simply delighted by this fantastic house which, although quite recently constructed, has a stunning atmosphere - it's quiet, full of light, with an absolutely perfect view. To wake up and to watch the sea from bed was simply wonderful. And the housekeeper was really great, doing everything to resolve all the problems which can occur in today Greece (like organizing a possibility to get to the airport while all taxis in Athens were on strike). As the next supermarket is a 40 minutes walk, it's better to rent a car (however, we managed easily enough without one). We spent a perfect holiday and can only highly recommend this house.

Un endroit de rêve

  • 5 of 5

Perfect Holidays

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 ideal weeks in this house. The place is perfectly situated and the view is absolutely and particularly magnificent. All the conditions were gathered to cross restful, nice, family, and at the same time simple and luxurious holidays: the house is without face to face, very quiet, appropriate, modern, completely equipped and the owners are particularly attentive to the well-being of the tenants for example bunches of flowers to decorate the house upon our arrival, the fresh water in the fridge etc. Thank you for these very beautiful holidays.

I ‘ll always remember the difficult choice of the day : let us owe pop over to the adorable swimming pool of the house either prick a head in the transparent green blue sea, the beach of which is just at the bottom of the house: I do not know if it is an existential question but it was one of our favourite questions of these excellent holidays!

On this island, we profited of a warm and sunny weather. Nice program to be there and very restful time. All the family enjoy the time in this place.

Fantastic place for a family with teenagers

  • 4 of 5

The views are stunning, the house is very nice and cosy, well equipped and clean. There is enough room, chairs, bedrooms, bathrooms/toilets and kitchenware for a bigger family, we were 6. The small pool was great in the hot days and evenings of July. There was no barking dog anymore nearby, nor any loud construction work but two nice and tidy cats visited us daily!

You should rent a car (which is easy and will not cause any problems) so you save a bit your energy and muscles when getting your shoppings (water bottles etc) to the house. One bedroom was lacking air-conditioning but we survived. Hopefully that would be installed in the future.

Support from local contact was also excellent! It was really a lovely place for adults and teenagers. Don't miss the sunsets from the terrace.Thank you!
