Our goal was to offer the comforts and amenities of the present without sacrificing the texture, color, and character of a traditional Mexican house. The first thing to know about it is the location: Casa Hidalgo is a mere half-block from the malecón (boardwalk) and the cafés, shops, and restaurants that decorate its curve along the La Paz cove. There will be no need for a car when you wish to stroll on the beach or visit the many traditional Mexican seafood (and other) restaurants nearby.
After a long day, what better way to relax than to swim in the privacy of your pool, surrounded by vegetation in your own personal oasis? If you’ve had your share of water, however, there is also the third-floor terrace, from which you’ll see the sun disappearing under the Sea of Cortez in the tranquil, but spectacular La Paz sunsets.
Casa Hidalgo is equipped with WiFi, the kitchen is fully stocked with wares, and you'll find fresh towels & n the bathrooms.

My name is Monica. I grew up in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, and have lived La Paz for the last six years. During that time, I've grown roots into the community through educational programs and efforts to advance environmental conscience in the form of organic gardens, recycling, and sustainable water-management practices.
Yolanda Espinoza purchased this house in 2010
We offer a great location, amazing views from our terrace and a lagoon-style private pool. The natural beauty of the Sea of Cortez begins after a one-minute walk from your door. And after a day of exploring, what better way to relax than to swim in the privacy of your pool, surrounded by vegetation in your own personal oasis? If you’ve had your share of water, however, there is also the third-floor terrace, from which you’ll see the sun disappearing beneath the dunes in the tranquil, but spectacular La Paz sunsets.
El Cirio offers great service with many amenities. The owner lives nearby and can attend to any issues personally or through trusted staff members.
El Cirio is committed to sustainability, social responsibility, and offers several unique services.
Our sustainability efforts include a community-based recycling program and the women-led business that makes and sells the natural cleaning products we use in our housekeeping service. We also provide childcare and traditional cooking upon request.
We are a family of 5 and this house was great! We didn't realize how detached the 3rd bedroom was going to be, our children are 5, 8 and 10, no one would sleep in it so Yolanda brought an air mattress, no problem. That bedroom would be fantastic to bring along grandparents, that will be the plan next time.
La Paz is a beautiful city with loads to do. A bus station that will take you to the beaches is about 2 blocks away. The malecon is a lively place in the evening and we all enjoyed walking in the evening. The whale sharks are not to be missed, an amazing day. We went out with Benjamin Duarte, he was an awesome guide!! Go with him!
I even lost my phone along with credit card and it was returned to me! This was such a welcome surprise!
You should go to La Paz and this house is highly recommended. Enjoy!
House is just steps from the Malecon and offers everything that you need.
Everything is maintained very well and all is very clean. The house is also very nicely furnished and
well equipped. Roof top terrace offers nice views of the bay and the pool in the courtyard is also very nice
for a quick refreshing dip.
Perfect location for us, since we could walk to restaurants and bars.
We would definitely come back !!!
We had other guests with us from March 1 to 30. Top rating for the backyard and pool. We all enjoyed it and the pool was maintained twice a week. We didn't use the air conditioning much as there are a lot of windows and balconies to open and a lovely breeze from the ocean. Great location near a grocery store (2 short blocks) and one house away from the Malecon. We cooked and ate often at the house and spent time on the rooftop. We walked everywhere and found many local delights - like shops, bakery, food carts, and friendly people!
There were a few problems with the water stopping but we emailed the manager and it was very quickly resolved. We suggested that the bedroom on the main floor have screens on the window and that it should be slightly renovated so that the door to the bedroom be accessible from the house.
Otherwise I give this 5 stars!
This traditional Mexican town home is steps from the Malecon, and walking distance to the Tailhunter Cantina fishing rendezvous point. It offers wonderful views of the bay of La Paz. The private court yard pool and roof top cabana offer 2 unique outdoor recreation opportunities. Our group included 3 couples An older father and mother and 2 young couples in their 20's. Everyone had plenty of privacy and each bedroom had it's own bathroom. It offers one secure off street parking spot. We parked our second car on the street with no problems. The owners are extremely helpful and provided early check in when our group got separated. The damage deposit was refunded quickly and without any hassle. This property is well managed, spotless and ideally situated in the best part of cosmopolitan La Paz.
We stayed at this home in La Paz for 4 nights. Fabulous location! Just off the Malecon and just blocks from a grocery store, great restaurants and the bus station. We particularly enjoyed the roof top patio! We'd stay here again.
Great location in La Paz off the malecon. Clean and exactly like pictures. One of the bedrooms on the bottom floor felt a little detached from the house (and didn't feel as new or as nice as the upstairs) but probably good for teenagers if you are staying as a family. Unfortunately didn't get to use the beautiful pool because the heater was broken but we were refunded some money (note that you have to pay for more propane if you use the pool heater and you run out of hot water). Yolanda and Ana were super sweet and easy to get in touch with via whatsapp. Don't be deterred by the fact that you have to pay for the deposit via bank (I was nervous about that initially) because this is a super honest property management company. Thanks again Yolanda and Ana for a wonderful stay.
Casa Antigua is steps away from the beach. It is also very close to the restaurants and bars that decorate the malecón (promenade), and within walking distance to downtown and all of its attractions.
