This home in Trout Creek, Summerland is the perfect home away from home for your vacation. Located one street back from the lake (one minute walk), you will find everything you need in this clean and comfortable family home.
8-9 people can comfortably sleep in the 4 bedrooms, with lots of room for you to spread out in the spacious living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances and utensils. We believe that every good vacation starts with a fresh cup of coffee and so a sampling of local artisan coffee will be available for you (complimentary). Enjoy the large private deck and BBQ area that overlooks a large private grassed yard with a view of Giants Head Mountain. A gas BBQ is also available for your use.
Kids, both young and old, can enjoy the large grassed yard. A netted trampoline is available for use, as well as the large pull through drive way, which is the ideal bike riding spot. A highlight is bound to be the children's swing hanging from the large London Plane tree in the front yard.
A short walk around the corner leads you to walking trails and dog parks and 2 playgrounds are within a short 5-10 minute walk. Powell Beach and Sunoka Beach are both nearby, with tennis courts just down the street.
*Disclosure: There is an attached one bedroom suite on the house, rented year-round. There is no direct access to the rental suite from the main house. All the house and yard amenities are designated for the use of VRBO rentals.*
The house and yard were very clean. The house is large and spacious and the kids loved riding their bikes in the driveway. The trampoline was also a big hit. The location is excellent and there was lots of good information left for the guests.
We had a wonderful time at this home during our week in Summerland. The home was beautiful and the trampoline and toys were well enjoyed by our 4 little ones. Their favourite thing was the tree swing out front. The location was great as we were able to enjoy Powell beach often and it was a short bike ride or walk away with zero hills. Would definitely stay here again.
We absolutely loved our time in this home. We had four adults and three young children stay in the house for one week. There was plenty of room for everyone -- the bunk beds were especially fun for the kids. This house is truly a home away from home, with toys for the kids; kitchen amenities for cooking; lots of linens; and enough room for everyone to spread out. The yard is huge and offered lots of room for the boys to run around and explore, while the deck was an ideal place for adults to have a glass of wine at the end of the night. The house is within walking distance of Powell Beach (although with three young ones, we drove with all of the beach toys!) and is a short drive to the wonderful SunOka beach. If you're looking for something different, Penticton is a very short drive away. We drove to Lake Skaha one night and enjoyed a lovely sunset swim.
Stephanie and Brad are incredibly accommodating, generous, and professional hosts. The house was very clean and well-prepared for our arrival. We had a few 'special requests' and they were quick and reasonable in their replies.
The Okanagan is a beautiful region and this home is a great spot from which to enjoy it. We're already looking forward to coming back next year!
We recently stayed for a week and were very pleased with the home. It was clean (most importantly!) but also well decorated and very homey. The kids loved playing in the backyard and the swing out front, but most of all loved that the lake was only a walk away. We appreciated that the rooms were air conditioned to make sleeping easy. Sometimes in the evening the Wifi wouldn't connect to the TV so we couldn't make use of Netflix but it was a happy ending as we found the basket of games and had some lively rounds of Jenga and Uno :-)
We would definitely stay at this property again!
Our family rented this home for the second year - a week each time. We love the location and the house is perfect for a family. Stephanie and Brad could not be more friendly or accommodating - they are awesome. The kids love the swing in the big chestnut tree in the front, and also the trampoline in the back. It was very hot this year so we really appreciated the air conditioners in the bedrooms. You can walk to the beach, or a short drive to other beaches if you desire. Also close to Penticton for more action if you need it. We love the Okanagan so much that we are buying our own home for next year!
Stephanie and Brad's home is exactly as pictured and more! We have a lovely week at their home, where we had access to all comforts of home. 4 bedrooms accomodated 4 adults and 4 children easily, there was AC available in each bedroom, and fans for downstairs. The kitchen and eating area are large and there was enough room for all 8 if a little snug, but there is always the option to eat on the beautiful large patio, which we did most mornings. There is a trampoline but it is older and the netting is not secure making it unsafe for very young kids. Our slightly older ones were fine when warned.
The house is next to an orchard, and in a quiet part of Trout creek just couple of minute's walk from a small rocky beach, perfect for a quick dip in the Okanagan. Beautiful estates are all around and the landscape is gorgeous; makes for beautiful walks in the monring or evening. 2 minute drive and 10 minutes walk further is Powel beach, in our opinion the best beach in the area, sandy, shallow, warm, clean, with lots of beautiful weeping willow trees for shade, and changing rooms. There is a fire pit at the beach for when fires are permitted. You can even launch and moor your boat nearby.
We appreciated the fully stocked (with appliances) kitchen and the little extras available for our use (condiments, oil, sugar) and of course we loved the gourmet coffee from Lone Tree left for our use. Shopping is within driving distance in centre of Summerland or Penticton. For a one of a kind experience a neighbourhood farmer and his family (4 little kids) picks and sell produce from a table on their property near the rental, on Saturday mornings. Also Stephanie shares some of her backyard basil, chard, etc. Awesome!
Stephanie was always quick to reply to any inquiries, very approachable and responsive. Great family to deal with. Thank you Stephanie and Brad and kids!
Over all a wonderful and memorable stay in a beautiful part of Okanagan. that we would love to repeat in future holidays.
Come and enjoy the beauty, adventures and tastes of the Okanagan, visiting wineries, orchards, summer beaches, golfing and winter skiing (one hour to Apex Mountain and 2 hours to Big White, Kelowna), KVR Railway, Summerland Sweets, hiking and bike trails. Summerland features a wide variety of shopping experiences and amazing restaurants. Boat rentals are nearby as well.
