Perfect for business travel

  • 5 of 5

In Amsterdam for business, and this condo was perfect - easy access to transit to get wherever you need to be, good wifi in the suite, grocery store, cafes and restaurants all in a short walking distance. Hosts Marcel and Barbara live in the building are gracious and attentive. Marcel was very responsive to questions before and during my trip.

Definitely recommended - whatever your reason for being in Amsterdam.

Canal Apartment With A View

  • 5 of 5

My wife, Caroline, and I stayed for a week at this apartment, after a two week trans-Atlantic cruise from Ft Lauderdale, FL. We absolutely loved this place and its central location, within minutes from everything. This was immensely helped by the very congenial and helpful owner, Marcel, who provided us with pre-loaded transport cards, which work on the tram, buses and trains. Marcel along with his wife, who live in the building, were also very helpful with directions and local recommendations. He even printed out some documents I needed. The flat, itself, is very comfortable, with a very good shower and comfortable beds. Not luxurious, but very functional and comfortable. The price reflects that very adequately. The view out the enormous windows, overlooking the canal is "to die for". We could have just sat there watching the world go by for the entire week and certainly spent a fair amount doing just that. Given the central location, the amazing view and the wonderful owners right there in the same building, this is a wonderful place, I would recommend to anyone!

Location, location, location!

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay in the city, whether you're familiar with the city or not. West Church, Anne Frank House just meters away; very close to anything "downtown"; and notably adjacent to the tram stop for access to the Central Station or points out of the center. Albert Heijn grocer around the corner. Also a lovely central sitting room with one of the best canal views in town.

Great and useful host in case you need tips for your stay.

Fantastic location and great views

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment in Amsterdam. The views out of the front window are like no other. Imagine canal boats slowly making their way down the Keizersgracht amidst ducks and gulls while trams, bicycles, scooters, and an endless stream of people cross over the bridge. And you are the silent witness taking this all in!

Amsterdam is an old city and this building reflects it. Don't expect a lot of polish. But for what it lacks in Ritz-Carlton glitz it makes up for with atmosphere and location. Anne Frank House, 100 yards. Dam Square and Palace, 4 blocks. A nice pub, grocery, laundry, restaurants all within a block or two. The host is very amicable and helpful and lives in the same building. We never cooked so I cannot report on the kitchen functionality. With so many choices within walking distance we just had no desire to! The living room is very comfortable. The bedroom is spartan but practical. The bathroom is basic but has everything one needs. The WC is functional but not well ventilated. Again, however, remember you are staying in a building approaching 200 years old. And you are leaving the huge crowds down by the Centraal and hotel area and spending your time in a busy but quiet neighborhood, hearing the soft chimes of the Westerkerk church bells and watching as the boats drift up and down the canal. If you don't mind "roughing" it a little, enjoy walking, and like to soak up ambiance, this place can't be beat.

Wonderful apartment with a great view

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Amsterdam and we loved this apartment. It's perfectly located to walk to almost anything, and we loved sitting by the window watching the canal and the cyclists. Marcel was friendly and helpful about what to do in the area. The apt. was clean and the living area was spacious. Perfect for two. We'd stay here again.
