A Unique Luxury Bahamas Villa
KettleStone is a spectacular ocean-front Villa on the beautifully serene "family island" of Andros in The Bahamas. Nestled in the coastal canopy only minutes from amenities, it is the epitome of a secluded holiday home.
KettleStone is comprised of a central living area, CedarTop, which contains the open concept living and dining areas, central kitchen, and a radial stone staircase leads to a loft bedroom suite with bath, named Morgan's Loft after the infamous Captain Morgan, whose stories are an intrinsic part of this island's lore. CedarTop is complimented by two additional bedroom suites, CayView and Sunrise, each offering an amazing panoramic view of the ocean and large ensuite baths complete with double door shower.
KettleStone is equipped with all modern amenities, and has a fresh water swimming pool, waterfall and jetted spa in addition to steps going straight into the ocean lagoon or onto the newly constructed dock. Enjoy the warm soothing firelight from our outdoor fire-on-glass fireplace or mix your favorite beverage at the outdoor kitchen and bar.
Grill-masters can enjoy the palapa covered grill station complete with its own lighting system.
There are plenty of activities on the island, and on the property to satisfy everyone in a family or friends group. In addition to relaxing and soaking the sun, there is scuba diving, fishing (bone-fishing, reef fishing, and deep sea fishing), birding, blue hole explorations, snorkeling, swimming, and shopping. Comprised of one acre of mature landscaped grounds, KettleStone is the ideal place to unwind.
Begin your day with breath-taking sunrises from the terraces, or the private dock palapa!

About Michael Hornby
KettleStone was conceived, built and is owned by Michael Hornby ... formally of Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada. Michael first discovered Andros Island in 1988 on a diving vacation and in 1997, in pursuit of his passion for scuba diving and a simpler lifestyle took the plunge literally and moved to the Bahamas. Michael currently lives on Andros Island and manages a local all-inclusive resort as well as owning and managing KettleStone. No stranger to the hospitality industry, in addition to being a Technical and Recreational Diving Instructor, Michael enjoys Blue Hole cave diving, deep wall diving and is a private pilot and boat captain. After 21 years of living on Andros, the love for the simplicity of the environment and the friendliness of local inhabitants continues to grow. Michael envisioned building a warm and welcoming luxury home that showcased the natural island beauty, and with a strict attention to detail it had to offer barefoot elegance that could be shared with others. With this vision in mind, Michael built KettleStone without compromise.
Michael Hornby purchased this Villa in 2004
Why Michael Hornby chose Andros Town
Situated on one acre … KettleStone land was chosen from years of local island research and a great stroke of opportunity which involved being offered the ideal virgin land from which to commence construction. Saving as much natural flora as possible was paramount, so carefully the land was hand cleared to preserve mature natural growth. Minutes from amenities, an international airport only a mere one hour flight from Florida and 5 minutes from a port of entry marina ... the location was ideal. A barrier island chain, shallow lagoon and sufficient elevation to provide a panoramic view and offer cooling breezes ... KettleStone had found its beginning.
What makes this Villa unique
KettleStone was built with attention to detail. Named for the 'Kettle' formations at waters edge and expansive use of hand crafted local 'Stone' ... hand cut limestone ocean-side terraces and poolside patios enable you to take an ocean swim/snorkel to be followed by a dip in the freshwater pool or jetted spa and sun-bathe to the sound of the cascading waterfall. High vaulted open cedar ceilings and an open concept design gives KettleStone a sense of spaciousness and participation with nature. Panoramic views from each suite and the centrally located kitchen enable you to appreciate were you are at all times. Fully landscaped grounds, sheltered breezeways and back patio enable you to enjoy nature front and back. The spectacular sunrises have to be seen to be believed. Welcome to KettleStone!

Oustanding home, views, and staff!!!!!
Kettlestone is a fantastic spot in the Bahamas! Go there and enjoy the peace of all the elements of nature, that the Kettlestone team, smilingly have under control.
Here is a few highlights :
*Yes, the home is fantastic with several private areas for large parties to spread out, I will not detail much on the home – it is a fortress and the pictures do not do it justice in regards to detailing the finer points of construction and casual luxury.
*The water is extraordinary, just a few steps from the back door and you are in a snorkeling, kayaking, fishing and boating paradise! There is a corral shelf that is just beyond the swimming pool and a few steps down the gradual terrace. The shelf emits about a mile from shore and doesn’t get deeper than (tide dependent)10 to 20 feet. This shallow area appears to run the length of the island, which is about 100 miles long. Bone fishing capital of the Caribbean, they say! We reef fished and caught enough snapper and grouper to feed ourselves and several families!
*The host and staff are fantastic in providing an environment of luxury in every way. I suggest that you buy groceries prior to arrival. Beyond that I highly recommend you let the staff prepare and serve meals based on their unique and creative abilities. There are not enough words to express how Kischalee's meals will enhance your experience. She takes the time to thoughtfully prepare each meal for your family. My 16 year old daughter said it was the best part of the trip. If you wish to open your heart and life with them , they are keen to express their openness and unique Bahamian ways, as well.
*The evenings there are magical. Although Andros Town and area is not on a register for “Stargazing”, the skies there are amazing! Just wait till the timers of the pool lights go off and presto - you are enveloped in one the most beautiful night skies you’ll ever witness!
* If you use the house vehicle to find crafts or wander around the island - get good directions! I have a feeling the locals remove the signs, just so we tourist will stop and talk!
* Tremendous for family time - Yeah, they have NETFLIX, WIFI and cell service, but it quickly becomes a last priority!
BEST VACATION EVER!
What can I say about KettleStone Villa's? WOW! We recently spent 10 days with two other couples at the villa and it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The view, the water, the house, I cannot even explain it, you have to go to appreciate it. We have been lucky enough in our lives to travel and this is a 10+ vacation spot. Our stay started with Mike greeting us at the airport, luggage looked after, a no muss and no fuss travel day. We were greeted by his staff and a bottle of champagne. The house is fabulous with many quiet spots to go to, or a great family area where we all gathered daily to relax, talk and laugh. Oh and laugh we did. Mike was there if we needed him and his house keeper Michette was the star attraction. We ran out of some food items and before we knew it, they were on the counter or in the frig. Michette is a warm and loving person who is there to make sure your stay is top notch. She helped with many of our questions, suggested several things to do, gave us great directions and reminded us daily to drive on the left side of the road. LOL. Hard to do when you come from Canada. She kept things clean with pride and told great stories about the islands and their beauty. She even brought over an island drum for my husband to play, some cow bells and an island head dress. We partied every day and she joined in and showed us some island dances. So much fun. I truly miss our visits with her. She even pitched in with the search when my husband went for a walk without telling anyone and ended up visiting with the locals and we thought he was lost. The 3 hour hunt that we still laugh about.
We had a spa day, a fishing day, a fire pizza night (to die for), a pig roast and grilled lobster , ate our catch of the day one night and a champagne lobster dish that was absolutely delicious. We felt like royalty. Kischalee, Mike's cook is like no other and her food and style out does any 5 star chef I have experienced in Canada. You would be wise to book her for your dinners, you will not be disappointed. Also pre purchase your groceries, it was the smartest thing we did. She made sure each one of us got to experience our favorite foods. The presentation and meal sizes were fabulous. She is an absolute doll. Mike we can not say enough about your staff or your home. We felt like the rich and famous for 10 beautiful days. This is a must if you travel, you will not regret it. See you soon, Venita and Chuck Saulnier.
Exceeded Our Expectations
We stayed at KettleStone for 9 nights with three couples. We read every review and had very high expectations before we arrived. Our stay was even better than we expected--so quiet and relaxing. Mike was an amazing host. He and Kaylee got our groceries before we arrived, so the kitchen was completely stocked, and he took care of our snorkeling and fishing reservations. He has it down to a science. We had Kaylee cook most of the evening meals for us, and she was simply amazing. She prepared, served, and cleaned up after the meal, paying careful attention to every detail. We ate at a restaurant one time but wished we would have stayed at the villa to enjoy Kaylee's food and fun, sweet presence. We found anther friend in Machette. She really cared about our experience and made sure we had everything we needed. In addition to off-site snorkeling and fishing, we spent time exploring the island beaches and blue holes. We enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, and relaxing right on the property as well. The villa was even better than the pictures, which were incredible. I would highly recommend bringing a GoPro to help capture all of your memories. The amenities were so amazing that there was very little reason for us to ever leave the villa. Mike focused on the details, and he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we wanted. He and his staff made an already perfect vacation even better. Thank you, Mike, Michette and Kaylee for making this vacation so special for our group!
Wonderful house on a wonderful island with a superb host and excellent catering
Kettlestone Villa is a well maintained, modern and well equipped house with all you would need for your stay. The location is ideal at the ocean front and very peaceful.
We recently spent two weeks with young children and there was plenty to see and do within a short drive. Mike arranged a good guide and fishing trip for us. There are also good diving locations visited by the local diving school.
Mike helps with anything and was always available to answer queries. He contributed to a safe, relaxing and comfortable stay.
Don’t miss out on the catering service available. The quality of the meals (planning, ingredients, preparation and service) was excellent and good value for money.
We hope to return in the coming years!
An amazing and relaxing stay in the Bahamas!
We rented out Kettle Stone and the adjacent villa for a week between Christmas and NYE. The view from the beautifully designed villa was absolutely spectacular. The expansive patio, pool and hot tub overlooks the crystal clear lagoon where you can grab one of the property's kayaks or snorkel gear and explore the coastline both above and below. My favorite thing to do was getting up right before the sunrise to watch the colors change across the horizon on Kettlestone's 50 foot dock while sipping on fresh coffee and reading a book. The staff and villa owner greet you at the airport and are so attentive during the entire stay. We had amazing Bahamian-inspired dinners by the in-house chef, Kishalee, including freshly-caught and grilled Caribbean lobster, paired with kale salad and a side of hot, homemade coconut bread. When the nights got cooler, it was perfect to soak in the relaxing hot tub or warm up by the fire pit–cocktails or a gass of wine in hand. The property has ample amounts of high-end wine selections, liquor and local beers. On top of activities provided on property, the owner is happy to connect you with local sights to check out such as the fresh water blue-holes, bone fishing, scuba diving at the nearby dive lodge and visiting some local haunts. It was one of the best Christmas vacations we had and the perfect retreat from the blustery winter blues! Highly recommend for those looking for an island getaway!
