Fantastic holiday

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a fantastic week staying at Casa Jacaranda. Located on a quiet estate, the villa is spacious , comfortable and very well equipped and we felt very much “at home” there. We loved admiring the mountain view from the bedroom’s balcony whilst enjoying our early morning cup of tea. Outside, the well tended gardens and pool area are a delight and the ideal place for breakfast, to relax( taking advantage of the large selection of books/cds available in the villa) after a morning sightseeing , or to enjoy a meal from the BBQ in the evening. Backing on to woodland the pool area is very private. The pool itself is a great size for swimming .

During our stay we enjoyed visits to the coastal towns of Moraira, Calpe and Denia as well as exploring the port, Arenal and Old Town areas of Javea. The Miradors (scenic viewpoints) provide beautiful clifftop views of the coast and Portixol Island . It was also interesting to view the coast from a different aspect whilst enjoying a boat/snorkelling trip from the Arenal. We travelled into the mountains to visit the village of Guadalest , a fascinating place with museums, shops, cafes, historical buildings/ monuments and stunning views.

In all the towns we visited there was a wide choice of restaurants /cuisine. Whilst we were impressed by all the restaurants we ate in, particularly memorable was an evening meal at the “Atalaya” restaurant overlooking the Arenal as the sun went down.

We can highly recommend Casa Jacaranda.

Thank you Heather and John.

The best holiday villa!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you once again Heather and John for the use of your beautiful villa. We have stayed at Casa Jacaranda several times with our teenage daughters over the last few years and look forward to renting it again next year - hopefully!

The villa is located on a quiet pleasant estate a few miles out of Javea close to the Cap de La Nao. Cliff top views of the Med are only about two minutes’ walk away.

The villa is really well maintained, well decorated and spotlessly clean. It's the best villa we have stayed in. The villa is spacious and has a great layout with three double bedrooms, an open plan kitchen and lounge with adjoining dining area. The master bedroom upstairs has its own secluded balcony with views to Montgo mountain. The villa is well equipped with satellite TV, CD & DVD players, Playstation plus games and books and games available to use. The kitchen certainly had everything we needed!

The gardens and pool area are superb. The pool is a very clean and a good size. It is bordered by the naya and barbeque area. This garden area backs onto woodland giving a secluded/private garden for sunbathing, swimming, dining or just drinking! We loved just spending time at the villa relaxing. The gardens are beautifully planted and maintained, with orange, lemon and palm trees.

A car is needed when staying at the villa. Javea with its port, old town and Arenal areas are around 10 minutes’ drive away. There are plenty of restaurants there with Spanish,English or Chinese restaurants to choose from. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance of the villa and a couple of small supermarkets. Further afield we have enjoyed visiting Xativa and Guadalest.

We would recommend the villa to anyone. The customer service from both Heather and John and by the cleaner/caretakers – Doug and Sue is excellent. Any problems have always been promptly sorted out.

Thank you

A Home from Home

  • 5 of 5

John and Heather, this was the seventh year (yes, seventh!) we have stayed at your home, so I guess that gives some indication of how much we like the villa and the area. We are a family of five and though our children are now of University and A level student ages, they still enjoy their holidays with us. What is unforgiveable of me is never to have provided a review for you at all, even though I religiously contribute to your Book of the House.

The description of the villa you read is very accurate, but none of the photos really do it justice – it’s much nicer in reality. The property is spotlessly clean and well maintained thanks to the ministrations of Sue and Doug, as are the gardens and pool which Domingo looks after. Any minor glitches we have had during our many stays have always been swiftly remedied. What is not mentioned is the well stocked bookcase, DVD, CD and Playstation game collections John and Heather generously allow you to share. Outside, there is a fair collection of inflatables and toys to use in the pool, or relax on the lovely naya, which is a superb al fresco dining room or somewhere shady to hide if the sun is too warm for you. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, being next to woodland and the views stunning.

A car is a must, since La Cala is situated some way away from Javea and the Arenal. There is a good choice of large supermarkets in Javea town or towards Moraira and numerous smaller ones dotted around Javea and the immediate locality. The villa has a well equipped kitchen and BBQ area, so if self catering and cooking is your way to relax, you are more than well served. Equally, if you choose to eat out, there are many restaurants to choose from either in Javea port area, the Arenal or close by La Cala within walking distance.

There is plenty to do in Javea itself – beaches worth exploring are at La Barraca, Granadella and the Arenal. If you have time, check out the Javea Tourist Office maps of local walks around Javea and Montgo, which are well worth the effort if the weather is not too warm.

All being well, we will be back for our eighth visit later this year.

Everything we expected and much more!

  • 5 of 5

I'm just back today from our week at Casa Jacaranda and wanted to say thank you to John and Heather for such a great accommodation. I was aware of the area in Javea before we arrived and knew that the location of the villa was highly prestigious and was somewhat surprised at the rate we paid - well below what I would have expected and every single bit of value for money.

Our 11 and 6 year old loved the house, the chance to relax by the pool or chill out in their own rooms. It's far enough away and close enough at the same time to the beach to give you the choice on how you spend your week. The house was spotless, well stocked and very modern in the way it was set up and serviced.

I think what swung the experience for us was the way in which John and Heather treated us from day one of booking and they were always on call to answer any questions we had in the run up to us arriving... even ensuring that Susan packed our own hairdryer... a must for any lady!

The villa is excellent for young families and old alike and I have already recommended this to friends and family via my Twitter and Facebook account. Indeed we met Doug and Sue who look after the house locally and again we found them so helpful and informative.

With Alicante only an hour and a bit away and so much to do in Valencia the other way, Javea is still very un-spoilt by the tourism industry yet at the same time will give you and your family a great fun and relaxing time.

A bit like the Remmington shaver man.. we enjoyed it so much we'll either go back to the villa again.. or perhaps buy one of our own in the near future!

Thank you both again for such a wonderful time.

This was our first stay in this villa (August 2010). We found it better than described, very well equipped, clean and well located. I certainly would not hesitate in recommending this property. The pool was lovely, the garden well cared for and the property very well cleaned and maintained. We had a wonderfull time, Thank You.

second visist

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the villa for the second year running and now that any stocking problems have been addressed from last time we were more than comfortable. The property was spotless, had everything that a family would need and provided a quiet retreat to recharge the batteries.

The owner was helpful when trying to resolve our only problem, the fact that the water was off for 4 days!!! It turned out to be a major burst so there was nothing that anyone could do.

We would certainly recommed this propery to friends, it is not in the middle of a noisy centre so may not suit those who want non stop parties etc, but if you want a quiet break then it is ideally situated. There were plenty of things to do within a 20minute drive, a car is essential. Overall a brillaint villa in an idylic location, we would love to go back next year, we will have to see......

Situated amongst pine trees on the La Cala urbanisation which is located in the beautiful Cabo deLa Nau area. This scenic headland has breathtaking views of the cliffs and coves and a number of beaches. These smaller beaches are ideal for swimming ,snorkeling and diving and most have beach bars and restaurants.

The headland offers many beautiful walks with views which include the island of Portixol.

Close by is the lively beach area of the Arenal with it's many bars, restaurants and shops. Also the old town of Javea with it's twisting narrow roads offers a chance to wander around the shops and stop for a refreshing drink in the picturesque squares.
