This spacious 2 bedroom duplex apartment (first and second floor) is set in a small, quiet complex. It is only a 15 minute walk into the small town of Praia da Luz. a beautiful Portuguese village, near the town of Lagos on the western Algarve coast. All amenities are close by including the beach, supermarkets and restaurants .
The apartment has many features including on the second floor a modern kitchen with all the necessary appliances and utensils. The dining area seats four people and the living room, with its flat screen TV, Free Wi-FI, has a fabulous panoramic sea view over the gardens and the two pools.
On the first floor is the main bedroom which leads out on to a large terrace with sun loungers/parasols for private sun bathing and barbecuing, etc. The second bedroom also leads out on to a terrace and is generally cooler in summer. The modern bathroom has a shower over the bath.
The apartment has most things that you could want whilst on holiday including: Satellite TV, (free channels only) DVD player, (a good selection of DVDs for your enjoyment), radio/CD player, paperbacks, cards, dominoes, etc
The FREE outdoor evening entertainment in Lagos is hard to beat! Artists, musicians, dancers, jugglers, etc perform during the Summer months.
There are numerous beaches along the coast - some are big and spectacular, others are small and quiet, all are clean and safe.
There are a number of theme parks such as: Slide and Splash, Aqualand and Zoomarine, all within driving distance.
There is an array of shopping experiences to be had from the traditional shops in Luz, to the Algarve Retail Shopping Centre - a large, modern shopping mall with all the amenities including, restaurants, bowling alley, etc. Everything you could ask for.

I bought this property because of its location and charm. It is close enough to Praia da Luz and Lagos, but also a short drive away from the traditional Portuguese villages and national park.
The apartment has a number of features e.g. it is over two floors, it has character and it has a homely feel.
And finally....the view is spectacular!
It is quiet, relaxing, friendly and... have I mentioned the view?

I can not recommend this apartment highly enough. It is situated with easy access to Prai da Luz and many other small villages along the coastline. The apartment itself is beautiful.
When we arrived and opened the door we were more than delighted with what we saw. The apartment is exceptionally clean and tidy and all the fixtures and fittings are of excellent quality. It is the nicest apartment that we have ever been lucky enough to book. There was everything that we could possibly require in the apartment and excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. It was spotlessly clean and very well maintained.
There are two swimming pools in the garden; one adult size and a second smaller one for the children for anyone not wishing to go to the beach. It is completely safe due to the key only access for the guests.
There are many places to eat out either in Prai da Luz or any of the small villages near by. There is also an English Pub for those who enjoy a good pint and good lunch time snacks. We liked the African restaurant in the town. It is child friendly, always busy, has superb food and I advise anyone wishing to go to book first.
Our favorite village was Bagau a couple of miles to the west. The beach was very safe for children and the cafe/restaurant was superb. The food was exceptional; from sandwiches to a full meal.
If you want an apartment that is just that little bit special this is it !!
I will certainly recommend it to any one I know who wishes to visit the western Algarve.
Bescheidene aber schöne Wohnung, mit alles was man für den Urlaub brauchte. Sehr ruhige Lage. Mit ein Mietwagen hat man viele Möglichkeiten verschiedene und unterschiedliche Strände zu erreichen. Wasserparken und andere Attraktionen für die Kinder kann man mit dem Auto ebenso erreichen.
Mit dem Vermieter lief alles Spitze. Er hat immer auf unsere Fragen und E-Mails sofort beantwortet. War ein sehr schöner Urlaub!
Apartment was as described, well equiped, clean and great views. The small complex has a nice pool and bar area for your use and its just a short stroll to town and the nearby beach. Many beautiful bays are also easily accessible by a short car journey if you have a hire car but even without a car the Praia de Luz beach is also scenic and perfect for those who want the beach. Liaising with the owner was also quick and easy and he was very good at providing information and responding to any queries. We would recommend this to anyone
We were very pleased with our apartment, it was very clean on arrival. The complex itself is quiet and the pool is very well maintained.
The owner Jeff was brilliant, very accommodating and the information folder left in the apartment was very useful. The apartment is located on a bit of a hill, but as we hired a car it wasn't a problem for us. For families with small children I would recommend a hire car, it is especially useful when you need to pick up shopping.
The food on site was very nice (basic bar food burgers etc) and the food at the weekly BBQ was also very good.
The local beach was very nice and clean and our kids enjoying playing on it.
The restaurants I would like to mention are Chaplins (great for kids) and the Royal Garden Chinese restaurant also did amazing food.

We stayed in the apartment with our two children. The apartment is very well equipped and has a beautiful view to the sea. We can recommend it.
the holiday was everything we expected and more. everything went smoothly and the apartment was very clean, well equipped and the facilities were fabulous. Towels and linen were changed regularly. the owner was very helpful throughout the booking process and provided some useful information which helped us to enjoy our stay.
We would recommend this apartment for a relaxing holiday and will book again.
Vilamar is a quiet, relaxing family run complex. Breakfasts, light snacks and bar facilities are all reasonably priced and are available during April to October.
Praia da Luz has several shops, cafes, excellent restaurants, well stocked supermarkets and a safe sandy beach - the central attraction for many visitors. It also has a Doctor and Dentist surgery.
Why not explore the historical town of Lagos and its fabulous marina - only 10 minutes drive away.
Travel half an hour up the West Coast and experience the most amazing beaches and waves.
Travel half a hour in other directions and you will be able to experience a number of water Theme Parks, excellent Retail Shopping or traditional rural Portuguese villages.
There are numerous walks including the one from Luz to Burgau (60 minutes) with its spectacular cliff top views over the Atlantic.
The journey from Faro airport takes approximately 55 minutes using the motorway. Directions will be provided.
Golf: There are four golf courses all within 20 minutes drive of 10 Vilamar. The closest is Boavista - just 5 minutes away on the road to Lagos.
