Pick up your cappuccino at the Kalapawai Market every morning and your shave ice (snow cone) at Island Snow every afternoon. Your family will love this Kama'aina (local) way to enjoy Hawaii.
Kailua town, with its restaurants, shopping, and entertainment is a little more than 1/2 mile away. And, in just a short car ride, you can swim with the dolphins at Sea Life Park, snorkel in Hanauma Bay, hike the stunning Ko'olau mountains, swim/surf the North Shore, browse the 'Swap Meet' at the Aloha Stadium, sample Honolulu's nightlife, walk Waikiki Beach, or get to the airport.
Kick back. Our cottage has been furnished in island style to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. You will feel right at home while you barbecue dinner on the lanai, wander to and from the beach, watch movies or cable TV, or drift off to sleep in the comfortable bed. We also have wireless internet access so you can stay connected!
The detached one-bedroom, one-bath cottage has a queen-size bed in a separate bedroom and queen-size sofa bed in the living room (sleeps two adults plus small child comfortably), kitchen/eating area, and covered patio with a Weber gas grill and outdoor furniture. Includes access to all the beach toys - boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs/mats/towels and cooler and an initial supply of paper and soap products.
Located on a large lot with a separate, three-bedroom, two-bath detached house, the cottage is available to rent separately or together with the house for larger groups.

My husband and I have had this property for about 25 years. Since my husband's family had lived in Kailua for many years during their high school years and had many fond memories of the island, we wanted to be able to bring our own family back to Kailua and create our own family memories. About 8 years ago, we decided to open our home to other vacationing families who have been able to enjoy many happy days as a family here. We hope that you find our place as comfortable for your family as we do for ours!

Being located a short walk from Kailua Beach means that you can go back and forth to the beach all day without loading and unloading everything into and out of the car. I love being able to pick up my latte at the Kalapawai Market before my beach stroll, and we have a family ritual of shave ice every afternoon from Island Snow (President Obama's favorite before-dinner snack with his kids!)
We had a blast in Kailua especially staying at the cottage! Thank you soo very much for everything! The cottage had everything that we needed. It's a home away from home! We'll probably return there sometime soon hopefully. We'll always keep your place in mind!
Me, the wife, 2.5y old son and 8m daughter stayed in the cottage and enjoyed it immensely. We had all we needed to make ourselves food and generally at home. My daughter was well catered for with a portable cot and my son had a huge pull out bed for himself. The garden area was nice and big and even thought we shared with the tenants in the main house, our sons became quick friends and played the whole yard full. The easy, quick walk to the beach is perfect for eat, beach, eat, nap, beach, eat, sleep days. The market, two houses away, was adequately stocked for our food needs and the shopping center around the corner had pretty good pizza and damn good shaved ice. All and all we absolutely LOVED it and would highly recommend it. Thank you for a great stay.
It's a beautiful property. The cottage is just right for two people. We had a large group and part of us stayed in the house (55006) and my wife and I stayed in the cottage. It was great fun and both the owner and property manager embody the aloha spirit.
I stayed here with my husband and our 7 yr old for 9 days. We had a fantastic time. The cottage is very clean and pleasant. The private lanai and grill, w/d, outdoor heated shower, nice linens, boogie boards and well-outfitted kitchen were great. The convenience of being so close the beach and Kalapawai Store made our swim/eat/nap/repeat routine very easy and we could maximize our time on the beach. The owner and manager were very pleasant. Can't wait to get back there again!
Thoroughly enjoyed our week there, especially the easy walk to the beach followed by breakfast on the lanai. Barely noticed the people in the other house. My son found putting the couch cushions on the floor to be more comfortable than the sofabed. Owner and manager are very nice. Highly recommended!
My husband and I spent 10 days in the cottage over the holidays. I fell in love with the location and the cottage itself. I walked on the beach every morning without the hassle of driving to the beach! The cottage is small, but comfortable, convenient, and very cute! It was great to have off road parking and a washer and dryer for our own use. We definitely will stay again. A real gem in Kailua!
This was my first time in the cottage - and my first time in Hawaii. The cottage is in the perfect location - a quiet and peaceful setting and a quick walk to the beach, easy driving distance to everywhere. Also highly recommended is the little store on the way to the beach - coffee is great and so is the food. The cottage is well-outfitted for doing at least some of your own cooking - fully furnished kitchen and a grill on the lanai. Two of my favorite things: the beach was never crowded AND in the evenings I could sit out on the lanai and hear the surf and the wind in the trees!
