As a base for a memorable recreational and active holiday, the spacious and modern furnished 3.5 rooms, 110sqm apartment on the ground floor. Terrace 30sqm. Rooms: 1 double bedroom with large bathroom, shower, whirlpool in the whirlpool and a great view of the mountains, washing table and sep. WC. 1 double bedroom with shower, WC, washbasin. Direct access to the lovely terrace. In each of the bedrooms there is a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Spacious entrance area, bright living room with upholstery (can be pulled out for an additional 2 beds with guest toilet). Salontic and dining room table with 6 chairs. The open kitchen is more than fully equipped. You can feel at home. Bathrooms, kitchens and living areas are decorated with ceramic tiles. In the bedrooms you will find wooden parquet / carpet. All rooms can be blacked out. Radio, CD and DVD player, TV, Internet / W-LAN provide information and entertainment. The furnished terrace, with stunning views of mountains and lake, invites you to linger. Here you can put the electric grill into operation. Shops and a doctor are available in Beatenberg.
Hiking, walking, cycling: As a mountain lodge in Beatenberg the Niederhorn with countless hiking trails is at your disposal.
You can walk over the promising ridge to the Burgfeldstand and Gemmenalphorn.
The panorama shows you Jura, Schwarzwald, Emmental and the Bernese Oberland.
Directly at your feet lies the lake of Thun with Niesen and Stockhorn in the background.
If you look far into the distance, you will discover the Titlis with 3239 altitudes in the east, the Mont Blanc with 4807 altitudes in the south-west, and the great Oberländer like Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Blümlisalpmassiv and innumerable other ever snow-capped peaks.
In addition, you can find so many hiking / mountain hiking trails and climbing tours in the Bernese Oberland that you will leave with the impression: A holiday is not enough.

Winter hiking, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, touring skis: The Niederhorn - Gemmenalphorn area offers well-maintained winter hiking trails and toboggan runs down to the Beatenberg station as well as the Waldegg district. The Niederhorn is very well developed by a group of orbits. On the summit and at the middle station are excellent restaurants, which invite to a breather and culinary pleasures. In the Waldegg you can enter a cross-country ski run that takes you to Bodenalp. The entire Gemmenalp / Niederhorn area invites you to the tourenskien.
There are no limits to the number of visitors.
Those who love the variety can go on trips to the nearby ski resorts of the Jungfrauregion, Adelboden or Hasliberg. The base camp Chalet Matte Blüemli ***** and Beatenberg is the ideal starting point for your varied tours.

Amazing high quality flat in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable
We went with our teenage boys for 4 nights in April.
The weather held out for us, sunny every day, and we had plenty to do in Beatenberg including hiking, mountain biking (recommend renting at Eiger Sport in town), riding the funicular down to the Thunersee and exploring the St. Beatus Caves. We also loved going into beautiful Interlaken for long walks and some great restaurant choices.
The apartment is really very good quality. The kitchen had great appliances and we loved the espresso machine. The primary bathroom was especially nice with the rain shower and big soaking tub. The patio is huge, great for having meals with a million dollar view.
The owner was very nice and helpful. It would be helpful to travelers to practice your German, but even if you don't Speak German, as in our case, you are able to communicate with out too much trouble.
I would highly recommend this flat to anyone who wants to enjoy the natural beauty of Switzerland.
This home provides all you need for a relaxing time in the mountains of Switzerland. Take daily walks with cows, donkeys and goats in the fields grazing the greenest grass you will ever see. The views are spectacular in every direction. Friendly neighbors too!
Comfortable, cozy apartment with spectacular views
We're so glad we rented this apartment as our home base for exploring the Swiss Interlaken area. It was great to come home to after a long day of sightseeing. The views from the main living area windows and the terrace are spectacular. We enjoyed just sitting there with a glass of wine watching the clouds drift by over the glacier blue mountain lake surrounded by the beautiful Swiss mountains. The apartment was really clean and cozy. Sonja has thought of everything. Sonja met us at the apartment when we arrived and did a walk through with us. We ended up following her instructions to the apartment rather than relying on our GPS and that worked out fine. I didn't realize she had a notebook with English instructions for the appliances. From reading an earlier review, it appears that she does, so make sure and ask where it is if you plan on using the kitchen. We eventually figured it out and enjoyed cooking 2 or 3 dinners there. The TV service in the apartment was great. There was a bigger variety of English channels than we usually find when we stay in Europe using Home Away. One of the days we were there was really rainy so it was nice to just enjoy a down day at the apartment and have something besides the news to watch.
The Chilche Pintli and Gloria Hotel restaurants in town were both good. We used the Coop grocery store in Interlaken for stocking up initially, and then used the little Beatenberg market on the main road about a mile from the apartment for incidentals after that. Sonja included a travel pass that allowed us some discounts for some of the sights we visited. Also came in handy with a discount for the bus when we didn't want to drive in to Interlaken.
We've used Homeaway extensively over the last 8 years or so for our traveling in Europe. I would rank this apartment in my top 5 or 6 favorites. Will definitely be back if we're able to visit Switzerland again.
Stunning views, beautiful home! Loved it!
This is a beautiful home and it fit our needs perfectly. The views from every window left us breathless. The kitchen was a chefs dream with a built in Expresso, cappuccino and coffee maker and everything you needed to prepare a gourmet meal. Bedrooms were spacious and the master bathroom had a huge whirlpool tub as well as a walk in shower. With the rental came a bus pass that could be used to go into Interlaken for free. We followed the owner's suggestion and input the GPS coordinates into our Navi rather than the address and it brought us directly to the home. We loved this place!
Awesome Chalet Matte Bluemli
Sonja's Chalet was a 5 Star (plus) accommodation. Fully equipped, modern and beautifully decorated. The view was spectacular from a spacious deck looking at Europe's 3 largest snow covered mountains and the two lakes of Thunersee & Brienzersee..
Sonja provided valuable information for things to do and a Visitor Pass for public transport which made our stay eventful.
Beautiful home, amazing view, and completely peaceful!
We have rented this property twice in the past 3 years. It's amazingly quiet, about 30 minutes away from the hustle of Interlaken. The home is located high up on the mountain with views across the Thunersee to the alps beyond. There is a good bit of outdoor furniture so that you can relax outside and enjoy the views. Just down the street from the house you can find cows with the traditional bells on their necks, and even an alpaca or two.
The kitchen is fully furnished with Miele appliances, even with a built-in coffee machine and steamer. There's a large eating table big enough for 6-8 people. There's plenty of nice dishes and glasses.
The living room has an LCD TV, maybe 40-45" with local cable channels. There is decent wifi, usually about 3-4MB/sec.
The bedrooms are nice, the master has a large bed, dresser, and en-suite bathroom with a shower and jacuzzi tub. There's a one-way window where you can sit in the tub and watch the alps. The second bedroom is a little smaller, also with an en-suite shower. It has one big bed and one small bed for a child.
The overall location is great in my opinion. There are several restaurants within walking distance, plus a bus stop which will take you to Interlaken.
It was a bit warm when we went, and the plus side to this home is that when it was 85 degrees F in Interlaken, it would be 75 degrees F at the house.
All in all we love the house and the owner is very nice and accommodating, and wants you to have an amazing time on your holiday.
On the sunny terrace of the Bernese Oberland, 1100 m above sea level, is the chalet mat Blüemli. The chalet was built on the southern slope unobstructed Beatenberg. This positioning provides a number of hours of sunshine and a perfect mountain and lake panorama. The unobstructed views of the turquoise beaming Lake Thun and the snow-capped mountains Oberland, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau is unsurpassable. You can enjoy this view from the large windows or on the furnished terrace. A well-developed access road takes you, from above the village road, the apartment and thus in an absolutely quiet location. Here you can listen to the bells of the cows, sheep and goats, and enjoy game viewing in to chamois, roe deer, deer and foxes. A leisurely sunbathing on the terrace is nothing to prevent. Similarly to offers active holidays, these are innumerable sports and excursion possibility.
