Le Tronchet Apartment Rental Photos and Description

2 double/twin in apt, 4-6 persons, 1double/twin in studio, 2 persons

The apartment and studio are part of a villa, of a modern, contemporary style, in a large garden with private, heated swimming pool. Views overlooking the fishing lake and the 7th green and 8th tee box of the excellent Golf Club du St Malo in Le Tronchet. Only twenty minutes drive from St Malo ferry terminal and the same distance from Dinard Airport (Ryan Air). Other first class courses within easy travel distance. The region offers wonderful visitor attractions - Mont St. Michel, St Malo, Fougeres and Dinan to name a few. Beautiful beaches and sea views are twenty minutes away, and forest walks and cycle paths on our doorstep. The area is famous for sea food and there many good, reasonably priced restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Our letting apartment and studio are tastefully furnished with beige leather furniture and equipped to a high standard. A heat pump system to heat the pool has been installed early 2007. The pool can not be heated all year. It is successfully kept at a temperature of 25°C+ when ave. air temps.above 15°C.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Peter qui nous a chaleureusement accueilli en pleine campagne et tout proche du golf du Tronchet pour les amateurs. Attention à la description automatisée du logement qui est en fait constitué d'un appartement de 2 chambres et d'un studio à part. Même si nous n'avons pas pu profiter de la piscine pour cette époque de l'année, nous y retournerons volontiers aux beaux jours. Les chambres sont très confortables, la cuisine est bien équipée tout comme l'appartement en général, également bien chauffé. Des jeux de société, livres et DVDs sont à disposition.

Superb holiday accommodation in beautiful area

The accommodation in Le Tronchet 20 / 30 minutes from St Malo, Dinard, Dinan and Mont St Michel, was superb. It was clean well equipped and Peter and Rita Black were the perfect hosts. They gave us a friendly welcome and were there if we needed them with useful advice about the area. We had use of the apartment and the studio. Myself and my husband and our younger son used the apartment which has two large bedrooms, very comfortable, and a lounge and lovely kitchen area with large dining table. Our elder son and his girlfriend slept in the one bedroomed studio on the ground floor which was self contained with own front door. It has its own kitchen but we all ate together in the apartment. We had use of the beautifully laid out gardens and could use the heated swimming pool anytime. The swimming pool is lovely and we would come back from sight seeing and relax around the pool and have a swim. What a real treat that was. We loved this area of Brittany and had some lovely meals out in the restaurants in Dinan and at the local hotel, La Abbaye, which is 5 minutes walk from the house. We all really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment and studio attached to Peter and Rita's house to anyone and we would definitely stay again.

Very comfortable amazing place to stay

The villa was very comfortable and stylish. The scenery was amazing. Nice and peaceful for enjoying a well earned escape from everyday stresses. It's situation meant it was a little Sun trap with a lively warm pool to cool off in. We would love to return.

Rauhallinen paikka golfkentän keskellä!

Todella mukava ja rauhallinen paikka pienessä kylässä golfkentän keskellä. Siisti huoneisto ja lämmitetty uima-allas lisäsivät viihtyvyyttä. Omistajapariskunta oli hyvin ystävällinen ja hoiti "puutarhurina" myös uima-allasta. Golfin lisäksi lähistöllä löytyy myös iso puuhapuisto lapsille, paljon nähtävää ja historiaa ja rannikolla makuelämyksiä pidemmänkin loman ajaksi.

Peaceful week in the French countryside.

The apartment is in a very quiet situation in the middle of a pretty golf course, on the edge of a small, very sleepy French village. What we did not realise when we booked is that the owners live on the ground floor, directly beneath the rental apartment, so this came as a surprise on arrival and did make us feel slightly inhibited about things like noise levels in the apartment or outside.

The owners, Peter and Rita, are lovely people who ran a hotel for many years and are anxious to please their visitors at all times. Email communication has been excellent and they have much local knowledge to share. The apartment was very clean, well-maintained and has exceptionally comfortable beds. It is well equipped and when we needed scissors, Peter was quick and happy to provide these.

There is wi-fi in the main apartment, but it only just reaches into the main bedroom if you sit on the end of the bed and does not appear to reach in the additional studio. An en suite in the main apartment would have been useful (family of 5). We had booked the extra studio, but as it has a completely separate entrance, the 3 children all chose to sleep in bedroom 2 in the main apartment.

The pool was lovely and very clean and Peter opens it every morning for guest use. While we were there, the weather was wall-to-wall sunshine. There is a large, level well-kept garden, pool area with sun-beds and even a small play park with swings a short walk away by the river.

A car is absolutely essential here: in fact, we spent a lot of time in the car on holiday. In Le Tronchet, there is a boulangerie and a post office in the village, but the nearest supermarket/petrol station is in Plerguer about 4 km away. We had a lovely meal on our last night at the golf club restaurant, but found no other bars or restaurants that we could walk to. We played golf and used the practice facilities, which are good. We also used the nearby (walkable) tennis courts which were free and open all hours. The location is inland, so be prepared to drive for about half an hour (or more) to go to the coast. We especially liked Dinard. Mont St Michel is also worth a visit and it's best to arrive early (we arrived at 10am and beat most of the crowds).

One piece of advice if you book: keep Peter's phone number handy in the car for when you arrive - we had trouble finding the location and didn't have the number to hand.

All in all, we had a very relaxing, peaceful week in the sun.

Peter and Rita were very hospitable and as stated on other reviews there being on the property was not at all intrusive.

The accommodation was excellent and suited our party of 7. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 children (ages 8, 14, and 17).

We had some excellent days out including St Malo, Dinard and Dinan.

The pool was extremely popular with all of us after a days sightseeing,in fact we had a job getting the 2 younger children out.

I can thoroughly recommend this property.Peter and Rita will make you feel at home.

  • The principal letting unit is the upper apartment with two double or twin bedded rooms, sleeping four(4) persons. There are two roll away/occasional beds, full length but more suitable for young people. That is sleeping 4 to 6 persons including children. Baby cot and chair available. There is, also, a separate studio, not let on its own, which is offered with the main apartment when guest numbers demand. In general, up to six(6) including children would be apartment only, six(6)+ would include the studio. Other arrangements will be happily considered. The studio comprises a ground floor sitting and kitchen area, toilet. Upper bedroom with double and en suite shower room. Access to large decked exterior and pool deck. All bedrooms can be arranged as either double or twin bed (6 persons). Two extra beds can be provided for children or adults in the two main apartment rooms. As we are situated within the golf domain (though not overpowered by it) we would mainly be suited to golf parties or families. Facilities include satellite free view (BBC, ITV, etc.),and Wi-Fi broadband access. Pool is heated by heat pump system giving temperatures over 25°C (not all year).
