The Mondriaan No. 2 is located on the 3rd and 4th floor of the building. The living room, first bed room and bathroom are on the 3rd floor. On the 4th floor you will find the second bedroom with a private bathroom. The second bed room has a lockable door and the entrance of this bed room is in the corridor of the building.
The living/dining room combination has a table that seats four, a large sofa and arm chair and an entertainment center with i-pod dock. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances (refrigerator, microwave/convection oven, dishwasher, ceramic stove top, and coffee maker) and the kitchen is stocked with all the necessary house wares.
The Mondriaan Apartments are located in the historic Jordan district on a quiet canal in the heart of Amsterdam. Most Amsterdam landmarks are within walking distance and there are many shops and restaurants just around the corner. There is an indoor swimming pool and health club just one short block away.
Mondriaan No.1 - Is located on the second floor and has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with a king size bed and a living room.
Mondriaan No. 2 - Is located on the third and fourth floor, has 2 bedrooms with each a double. The living room has a double sofa bed.
Please note: The second bedroom in the two bedroom apartment on the fourth floor is accessible through a communal corridor shared with the owner.
The apartments are located in a typical 19th century canal house. It is spacious and has been renovated to include all modern conveniences and has a fully equipped kitchen. It is fully furnished and includes all linens. Goose down comforters, and an entertainment system are just a few of the amenities. Historical accents include stained glass en suite doors.

We have also tried to factor in care for the environment when renovating and furnishing the apartments. Eco-friendly features including roof-top solar water and photo voltaic panels which provide part of the hot water and electricity used, low energy appliances, low energy lighting, double glazing in most rooms, hardwood bamboo floors in the Mondriaan apartment, eco-friendly cleaning and personal care products and some organic food products.
We require a cash damage deposit of 250 euro (per apartment). This will be returned during the check-out in cash.
There is also a cleaning fee of 50 euro (per apartment) that has to be paid in cash upon arrival.

The small attention to detail is often the most important. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and different backgrounds. We live on the ground floor and first floor of the building, and have slowly renovated it since buying it more than 20 years ago. The thing I like most about the building is the view. It has the charm of looking out on an Amsterdam canal with a quaint little marina on the other side of the canal, but what's quite unusual is that there's and a small park beyond that.which means that, at least in the summer, we don't see any other buidlings, just trees. This makes it very light and quiet. It feels like the best of both works. Because of course being in the Jordaan, there are literally hundreds of restaurants, cafes and galleries within a few minutes walk.
The property was built in the 1870's and renovated in the 1930's. The stained glass windows and sliding stained glass doors are all original. But while it maintains the charm of a traditional Amsterdam building, it also has all the modern amenities including double glazing, central heating, a modern kitchen and nice bathrooms. Tastefully furnished. The other thing, important to me at least, is trying to make the buidling as eco-friendly as possible. With a solar water heater, photo voltaic panels, and renovations that always take into account the planetary impact.
This comfortable apartment is in a quiet location and is an easy walk through one of the world's truly unique and great city neighborhoods into Amsterdam center. My wife, two daughters (13 and 10), and I spent a week in one of the Marnixkade Canalview Apartments in the fall of 2005. It was an absolute delight -- tastefully furnished, perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to the sights of Amsterdam, reasonably priced. But what made our stay special was the non-intrusive attentiveness of our host, who assisted us in many ways. Our stay was a perfect blend of the social connection one finds at bed-and-breakfasts and the privacy offered by big hotels. When we return to Amsterdam, we'll surely stay here. We VERY highly recommend it!

This apartment is spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The outlook over the canal is lovely and it is located close to some great restaurants without being in the very touristy part of Amsterdam. We were greeted with a very generous welcome basket and given an overview of the apartment. Transport is a 2 minute walk from the front door but a walk to the centre is a 15 to 20 minute stroll along the canals.
The stairs could be an drawback if there were mobility issues.
The only suggestion I would make is an update of the compendium. It is a little dated.
My husband & I stayed here in April 2016. We loved the location in Jordaan. Very convenient to tram/bus stop. Many shops, restaurants, and pubs within walking distance. It was quiet and peaceful and very roomy. The bed was pretty comfortable, but the pillows not so much, but we still slept well. The kitchen is well furnished, stackable washer/dryer in the bathroom, plenty of closet and drawer space. We will definitely stay here again.
My husband & I stayed here in early Dec 2015. The location in the Jordaan was perfect. The living room had 3 large windows with a gorgeous canal view, it was quiet, one block from a tram stop, and within easy walking distance to lovely bistros, cafes and restaurants in the Jordaan district frequented mostly by locals. It was the perfect size for the two of us. The owners lived in the apartment below us & when I had a mishap requiring two stitches, they were super helpful about getting me medical attention. We will definitely stay here again. The shower was small but all showers in Europe are small. The kitchen was small too but I don't cook so it didn't matter. Washer/dryer worked fine.
We had wonderful time in the apartment and were very pleased with the quality and the cleanliness. The host was waiting for us when we arrived and helped us with our luggages. He was very friendly and gave us some great tips about the city. In overall we think it was a great choice and would highly recommend it to everyone.
My adult daughter and I stayed in "Mondriaan II" for the week of Thanksgiving. We couldn't have picked a better location or accommodations, especially for the price. This is not a fancy house, a fancy apartment or a fancy canal, but it felt "real", was exceptionally comfortable and convenient, and the rental manager lives in the building and is accessible. By the way, the photos that you see are an excellent portrayal of what you get. It is always reassuring when one's expectations are met or exceeded, and in this case overall I would say that they were well-exceeded.
I was planning to make a stop at the local market to pick up necessities on the day of our arrival, and was pleasantly surprised to see how thoroughly our kitchen had been stocked for us. It made shopping somewhat redundant. The tram and bus stop near the apartment provided access to everywhere we wanted to go, and there were some great pubs and restaurants just a short walk away. The Jordaan is a relatively big area, and this apartment is at the western edge, which makes it off the beaten track for tourists and increases your ability to feel like you are a local during your visit.
The only negative was an inherent characteristic of these canal houses and no indictment of this particular rental: there were three flights of narrow, winding stairs to navigate up to the Mondrian (and a fourth flight to Zolderkammer), which was a challenge on arrival with luggage. As I was traveling alone, without my usual sherpa (husband), I managed the situation by leaving my bags in the vestibule inside the outer door and schlepping them up one at a time. Getting them down at the end of the stay was much easier due to gravity, but I probably woke up the other building residents during the process!
This would be my first choice of accommodations on a repeat trip to Amsterdam.
We were lucky enough to be able to stay 3 nights. They had a gap in the reservations and allowed us a 3 day rental! very nice apartment, with a beautiful canal view. They had a welcome basket, stocked with tasty food and wine. Even a chocolate on the pillow...very classy! Then you open the fridge and it's also stocked with cheese, meats, milk, bread and beer! They had everything you would need for a great stay. I found the information they left very useful. We went to one of the restaurants and the food was outstanding. We loved strolling through the Jordaan area, they had the Saturday market going and it was fantastic. Enjoyed our stay, would do it again!
Mondriaan Apartments are located on a quiet canal in the heart of Amsterdam's historic Jordan district, a vibrant area with many shops and dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance. You can walk to most of Amsterdam’s favourite landmarks and Central Station is about 15-20 minutes on foot.
It is also ideally situated, with tram and bus stops just 50 meters (about 150 feet) away. Tram 10 takes you directly to Amsterdam’s nightlife on Leidseplein (just 5 stops), while Tram 3 takes you to The Concertgebouw (Concert Hall) and many of the major museums (Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum). Bus 18 takes you, in 5 stops, to Central Station and Amsterdam’s emerging waterfront (Bimhuis, Jazz Hall, and Stedelijk Museum).
Although centrally located, the apartments' location across from a park and small marina provide a quiet and natural serenity you wouldn't expect in a city. Bike rental nearby. Paid street side parking is available.
