Golf: Rømø Golf Links - as the name indicates - is a real links golf course. The course lies directly at the sea and was created according to the old Scottish tradition of links golf courses, interspersed with 13 ponds, hilly greens and gorse plants. The golf course is located in a polder and is so flat that it can be observed in its entirety - and from the 6th and the 14th tee you have a beautiful view of the sea. The links golf course has multiple bunkers, but when the weather is calm, the drainage canals and ponds present the biggest challenges. When the wind blows from the west, the game gets serious on the flat course. The greens are large, hilly and very fast and they are already being praised even though the course is fairly new.
Professional golfer Knud Storgaard, who plays in the Challenge Tour was visibly impressed: “This is a unique course. One of the most beautiful in Denmark, and in an unparalleled location. A true links course full of challenges that can offer many different golfing experiences.” In addition to Rømø Golf Links you have the option of playing on Rømø Pay & Play, a 9-hole course which allows you to play without being a member. Rømø Pay & Play might very well be Denmark's most difficult golf course – here you can find Par-3, Par-4 and Par-5 holes. The many canals and ponds condition the experience of the links course. Rømø Pay & Play is a true experience - even for experienced golfers.
