Perfect for those who want to get away from it all

  • 4 of 5

On arrival we were delighted with the property. It was absolutely beautiful with plenty of space for us all. The owners were discreet but helpful and this suited us. We were lucky to be able to barbecue every night as there was an outside seating area under cover which was a godsend. The kitchen is small in comparison to the size of the overall property but was perfectly serviceable for our needs and had pretty much everything you could require. The bedrooms were outstanding and every bed was of a high quality with good mattresses ensuring we all had a good nights sleep, at top capacity there were 11 of us staying and the house did not feel crowded. The Breton beds with carvings were a work of art! The gardens are beautifully kept and private with a table tennis table to keep everyone entertained. The only let down is the pool which is really unusable without being heated. There are plenty of books, dvd's etc for rainy days. There are no shops/bars within walking distance and very little to see in Riolo itself. We only stayed for a week so didn't venture too far. However, Josselin was a highlight, absolutely beautiful town with the canal and Chateau and winding streets with ancient buildings, well worth a visit. We also visited Branfere zoo which was one of the best zoo's I have ever been to, really well done. We drove through Pontivy which looked like a much bigger shopping town. I have a love affair with French supermarkets and visited one each day, the wine is ridiculously cheap so all in all it was a successful week. Thank you to Muriel and David for the lovely welcome hamper and homegrown figs and tomatoes, your home is stunning.

A rural getaway with all the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

It is very difficult to drag yourself away from this property to investigate the surrounding area. The minute you step inside, you begin to feel totally relaxed and at home. It offers all the facilities you could possibly want or need without diminishing the character of the property. The garden is large, with the pool an added bonus, and the table tennis table will keep you entertained for hours! The peace and tranquility of the village adds to the relaxation and despite being very rural, the locals are very friendly and welcoming.

You don't need to travel far to reach a supermarket and it is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area and its interesting villages and towns.

The owners of the property live in the village and are attentive without being intrusive.

A perfect stay in Brittany

  • 5 of 5

La Maison Blanche is beautifully presented. A perfect home from home. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. If you enjoy lazing by the pool, walking or cycling in the countryside this place ticks all the boxes. And for days out the local medieval towns of Josselin and Dinan are a must for great markets, shops and little restaurants. Thank you to owners David and Muriel for making our stay such a great experience. We would certainly recommend La Maison Blanche to those looking for a taste of rural France and will no doubt be returning ourselves.

La Maison Blanche

This property is beautiful. Set in a great rural location within easy driving distance to a number of interesting towns and attractions.

The house is generally spacious with lovely large bedrooms and lounge. The whole house is very well decorated and furnished. The kitchen is rather small.

The garden is excellent for the kids with the pool and plenty of space to play.
