Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, just beneath majestic Mount Pisgah, you will find Mountain Laurel Cabin. Even though you are just minutes from downtown Asheville, when you drive up the paved driveway you feel as if you are miles from civilization. Sitting on 15 acres of some of the most beautiful mountain land around, the cabin is enclosed by towering hardwood trees and native rhododendron, holly, and laurel bushes.

Step up on the covered front porch and relax in one of the comfortable rocking chairs or the old fashioned porch swing. As you enter the cabin, you will be impressed with the beautiful wood floors and spacious cathedral ceiling of the great room, complete with a wood burning fireplace, cozy, comfortable furniture, books, as well as the TV, DVD, and VCR. The fully furnished kitchen and dining area are just off the great room, where there is seating for seven to eight. The master bedroom is also on the main floor, boasting a comfy queen-size bed with the master bath adjoining the bedroom. A large closet is in this bedroom, and houses extra blankets, pillows, and lots of games and puzzles.

Upstairs you will find the sleeping loft, which would be perfect for a family, with its queen-size bed and two twin beds. A full-size bath with shower is also upstairs. How pleasant it is to doze off to sleep at night while gazing at the fire burning in the fireplace! Out the back door, step onto a deck that feels like you are walking into the woods. Sit out on the deck and grill some steaks on the gas grill while listening to the birds and watching the squirrels. Your own private hideaway!

In the basement you will find a washer and dryer and two extra beds if needed, even though the basement is unfinished and unheated. The cabin is air-conditioned for the summer and has a heat pump and fireplace for winter. You can even leave the doors open and enjoy the cool, clean mountain air! Come to our little piece of heaven in the wonderful Western North Carolina Mountains, rest, relax, and enjoy!

About The Owner

My husband and I and his brother and wife bought this property in the 90's. From the timber that had to be removed for the road and housesite, they sawed all the lumber to build the cabin. We even had the hardwood floors and cabinets made from the lumber the boys sawed at our sawmill! We love to have guests enjoy the "fruit of our labors" here in our beautiful mountains!

Why The Owner chose Asheville Area

There are so many beautiful cabins in our area for you to enjoy, but we invite you to give us a try! We all grew up in the beautiful mountains of WNC and wanted a place for others to get to experience a little bit of what we are blessed to enjoy every day!

What makes this cabin unique

We do all we can to make your visit one you will enjoy and talk about for weeks to come! If it is quiet and if it is rest you crave, you can definitely find it here at Mountain Laurel! But you are still only a short drive away from "city life" and all the ammenities it holds. The cabin is fully stocked with most supplies you will need for your trip, so just load up the car and head to the mountains!

Perfect cabin for a quiet, peaceful, and secluded stay. Location near shopping areas if needed.

  • 5 of 5

Very spacious and clean cabin equipped with all the necessities needed. Location is about 20 mins to Asheville and close to all areas of interest. Owners were most helpful with any questions and responded quickly to answers. We will return again to this neat secluded hideaway in Candler N C. Loved the rocking chairs on the large front porch, so useful for enjoying a quiet, peaceful stay in the mountains. All rooms/bedrooms/kitchen much larger than appeared in pictures...Loved Mt. Laurel Cabin!!

Beautiful home, wonderfully decorated, secluded. Great place to relax after a day full of activities

  • 5 of 5

The pictures on this website do not do this place justice. The furniture has been updated and the home is much more spacious than it appears. Mitzi's welcome letter gives all the information you need including local attractions. She has everything you need to cook if you want/need to, and has everything you need in the bathroom in case you forget to pack the essentials (soap, shampoo, toothpaste). There was only about 8 TV channels, so bring some DVDs, she only has VHS tapes for the smaller TV in the basement. The only thing missing is an outdoor fire pit. We would definitely rent this place again if we are ever in the area.

Secluded spot, close to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was clean and we'll maintained. Host was easy to get ahold of and made sure we were able to get there without issue. Loved the location. Close enough to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Way more room than a hotel room. Was great for our family!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I absolutely LOVED it here! Pictures don't even do it justice, it is even better in person. I was so impressed with how clean this place is and how comfortable and cozy it is as well! We all loved it and had a blast!! The owner is super friendly and went out of her way to help us and really went above and beyond. We will definitely be back :)

Wonderful remote cabin. Great for a a much needed stay-cation.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was everything it promised to me. It was remote enough to feel like we were in the middle of the forest but close enough to attractions if we wanted to participate in social activities. Clean, neat and the host was sweet and responded quickly. Hope to return soon.
