|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, just beneath majestic Mount Pisgah, you will find Mountain Laurel Cabin. Even though you are just minutes from downtown Asheville, when you drive up the paved driveway you feel as if you are miles from civilization. Sitting on 15 acres of some of the most beautiful mountain land around, the cabin is enclosed by towering hardwood trees and native rhododendron, holly, and laurel bushes.
Step up on the covered front porch and relax in one of the comfortable rocking chairs or the old fashioned porch swing. As you enter the cabin, you will be impressed with the beautiful wood floors and spacious cathedral ceiling of the great room, complete with a wood burning fireplace, cozy, comfortable furniture, books, as well as the TV, DVD, and VCR. The fully furnished kitchen and dining area are just off the great room, where there is seating for seven to eight. The master bedroom is also on the main floor, boasting a comfy queen-size bed with the master bath adjoining the bedroom. A large closet is in this bedroom, and houses extra blankets, pillows, and lots of games and puzzles.
Upstairs you will find the sleeping loft, which would be perfect for a family, with its queen-size bed and two twin beds. A full-size bath with shower is also upstairs. How pleasant it is to doze off to sleep at night while gazing at the fire burning in the fireplace! Out the back door, step onto a deck that feels like you are walking into the woods. Sit out on the deck and grill some steaks on the gas grill while listening to the birds and watching the squirrels. Your own private hideaway!
In the basement you will find a washer and dryer and two extra beds if needed, even though the basement is unfinished and unheated. The cabin is air-conditioned for the summer and has a heat pump and fireplace for winter. You can even leave the doors open and enjoy the cool, clean mountain air! Come to our little piece of heaven in the wonderful Western North Carolina Mountains, rest, relax, and enjoy!
My husband and I and his brother and wife bought this property in the 90's. From the timber that had to be removed for the road and housesite, they sawed all the lumber to build the cabin. We even had the hardwood floors and cabinets made from the lumber the boys sawed at our sawmill! We love to have guests enjoy the "fruit of our labors" here in our beautiful mountains!
There are so many beautiful cabins in our area for you to enjoy, but we invite you to give us a try! We all grew up in the beautiful mountains of WNC and wanted a place for others to get to experience a little bit of what we are blessed to enjoy every day!
We do all we can to make your visit one you will enjoy and talk about for weeks to come! If it is quiet and if it is rest you crave, you can definitely find it here at Mountain Laurel! But you are still only a short drive away from "city life" and all the ammenities it holds. The cabin is fully stocked with most supplies you will need for your trip, so just load up the car and head to the mountains!
My friends and I stayed at the cabin for three nights over NYE weekend, and we had an absolute amazing time. The cabin was very spacious for all 8 of us, and it was fully stocked with items for the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. The cabin is well maintained and the beds are very comfortable. There is WIFI in the cabin, which was good because most of us did not get any cell phone service there, but were able to communicate through iMessage and iChat. There is also a landline phone if you don't have an iphone.
We loved that we had a lot of privacy, but were still close to local stores and downtown Asheville. The owner (Mitzi) was a pleasure to work with, and was very helpful with any questions I had while arranging our trip. Overall, we all loved the cabin and had a great time. I already miss the cabin and the mountains, and can't wait to return!
My family enjoyed a Thanksgiving stay at this lovely cabin. It's cozy yet spacious. The beds are all very comfortable. The front porch has rocking chairs and a swing, and our morning coffee never tasted so good as waking up on the porch amidst the trees. The owners keep it spotless and well-stocked with thoughtful necessities you might have forgotten to bring. They provide all the supplies for a wonderful fire in the fireplace. It exceeded our expectations, and we hope to return some day. The owner is very gracious and helpful. Great location, great value.
My family and I really enjoyed staying in this beautiful cabin. The cabin is everything the owners said it was--plus more!! The setting is total serenity but conveniently located to other venues. Although I did not get to meet Mitzi (the owner) in person, she was so easy to work with and very pleasant in our e-mail conversations. We will definitely stay in this cabin again!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!!!
My friends and I enjoyed a relaxing summer weekend at the cabin which was well stocked and furnished with everything we needed. I loved the proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway which offers endless opportunities for hiking and sightseeing. The host was very responsive and took great care of us.
Father and Son (63 and 34) haven't seen each other for two years. You know the drill; busy lives, work, things to do. I'm in Virginia and my son is in South Carolina, but we just haven't found the time to visit. When we finally did, it was at Mountain Laurel Cabin. It couldn't have been better. The cabin is hidden in the woods and completely private, yet it only takes about 15 minutes to be in town. We did some activities around town, but mostly we enjoyed our time together relaxing on the rear deck, including preparing dinners on the gas grill. We enjoyed the central air conditioning when it got too hot outside. The beds are comfortable and everything we needed was provided. We had so much fun catching up and the secluded privacy of Mountain Laurel Cabin was perfect. We've decided this should be an annual event, so we will be back. Thank you for making it so easy to enjoy each other while the venue took care of itself.
We enjoyed our time at this wonderful, peaceful retreat. It is a lovely place to relax and unwind and close enough to town to stay busy if you desire. THe owners are a tremendous blessing and wonderful Christian people! We hope to visit again real soon.
