Spacious and comfortable
There were only three of us but the property would accommodate six comfortably. We had everything we needed to cater for ourselves and plenty of space to relax when the weather kept us indoors. There is now unlimited broadband available which we weren't expecting, but was a bonus (or maybe not!) The house is well located for exploring around County Clare but you definitely need a car as the town is probably about 2 miles away. Would recommend driving down to the Loop peninsula for the Kilkee cliff walk and the Bridges of Ross; much less touristy than the Cliffs if Moher. Boat trips to Aran Islands is also good. Overall, we felt that this was a good value option, particularly for a larger family.

Well poistioned for Lahinch Golf Course, witha nice big garden for kids & dogs
The property is located on a hill so you have a good view all around. It's on a minor road, but does have steady + fast traffic, which may be a concern if you're a rambler.
It's a popular area for cyclists too.
Initially found very hard to locate as my 2019 car's satnav didn't recognise Eire Post Codes; neither did Google Maps initially from what I was given;'V95W7D4'. However, Googles "Ai" worked it out, as a few days later, it automatically corrected to V95 W7D4, and now actually shows the rental property!
Google shows it as being on a lane called "Ballyellery" in "Knocknaraha,", which you may want to make note of.
Whilst we there the town was tarting itself up for the Irish Open Golf. (If you play the game a round is very expensive ie €200+.)
Even the church tower was repainted, and suddenly rubbish bins appeared throughout the resort; these seem to be sadly lacking in Eire, because of the way they charge for domestic refuse.
Plenty of room in the 2 storey dwelling for a large family.
Some of the properties appliances were showing their age, and the washing machine had a faulty door which owner was aware of, but done nothing about.
The tumble drier too needs attention as the "Filter" warning light is on permanently!
We got a new DVD player fitted as the one there on our arrival was minus it's Remote, so couldn't be used.
We had a few cold spells even in mid June, so had to turn on the gas fire in the lounge; I was concerned that no CO alarm was fitted, contrary to local regulations re Rented Dwellings with fossil fuel appliances.
I notified Jim of this, but saw no action.
The fencing needs some enhancement as even our large Terrier could get under it, and into an adjacent field.
Be wary of using the downstairs loo in the bathroom at night, as it generates a loud knocking sound in the pipes, which'll likely wake whole house!
The cold tap in bathroom basin doesn't work either. Downstairs shower enclosure needs attention too.
I feel the property could do with some serious TLC to bring it up to modern standards.
There's a nice beach at nearby Lahinch which has a small number of shops & eating places. Nearby Ennistimon had a better selection for shopping, and plenty of local attractions too.
Thank you for your review. I appreciate you taking the trouble to submit one. Just a few points of clarification. The Eircode I gave you works perfectly well on my Google Maps without any spaces. I bought a new DVD player for you, although the old one worked perfectly well, albeit without a remote. I made you fully aware of the type of fencing in place around the house before you booked, while also reminding you of the need to be careful to avoid dog hairs on the furniture! The washing machine works fine, there's just a trick with the door, which I pointed out. I accept fully and appreciate your comments about the CO detector and the dryer, which I have since addressed.
I found your comments about 'tarting up' and the bin charges condescending and unnecessary and just for the record, our country is called Ireland, not 'Eire'
Great house and perfect jumping off point for day trips.
We spent 7 days at Jim's and it was amazing! Jim was responsive and helpful with all our questions. The house is located in a great spot for touring the west coast. Our shorter day trips included Kilkee, Spanish Point, Ennis, Cliffs of Moher, Lahinch and Doolin. Galway, Knock, Westport (Croagh Patrick) are also doable for longer day trips from this house. The yard was perfect for our three boys (11, 9 and 5) to run around. We had ample space and were very comfortable in the house with the range of weather during our week. It started cold and windy and ended the week warm and sunny. Would recommend this spot to anyone....our extended family was on this trip as well and slightly envious of the beautiful choice we made. :-)

Beautiful house in nice location
Just about 6 miles from Cliffs of Moher and close to The Burren, Kilkee Cliffs...if you're a golfer you're right there at Lahinch Golf Course (just about 2 miles or so away and Trump International Golf Course about 40 minutes and also a nice pitch-and-putt 18-hole golf course in Lahinch). A beautiful view from the master bedroom of Lahinch and its beach. It was extremely clean and our hosts met us at the house to explain this and that about how to use things, washer, large flat screen TV (Irish channels + satellite channels (with lots of choices)) in the living room, etc. There was also another small wall-mounted TV in one of the main floor bedrooms but it wasn't hooked up to anything to receive TV channels. The nice large master bedroom is upstairs with ensuite bath, with the other 2 bedrooms on the main floor, one with ensuite bath and another separate bath. It was really nice not to have to get up early to start heating the water (as in other cottages) as it was always ready to use, although maybe limiting your time in the shower or how many people are taking showers at once (but we never encountered any problems). Nice to have a washer/dryer (and the dryer was one not needing to empty a water tank). Had all the kitchen amenities to include dishwasher. There are a couple of wall mounted electric heaters and also a gas fireplace in the living room. The internet connection there was good, however, you're data download is limited due to the monthly allotment so basically emails, etc., which also meant we had to change our settings for phone applications so that they wouldn't "automatically" download updates to them and our Facebook settings so that video (streaming) wouldn't automatically start, etc.....point being when you went in town or elsewhere to a restaurants, etc., that had internet, that's when you updated apps or looked at Facebook videos, etc. Centra supermarket in Lahinch with larger supermarkets (Aldi & Supervalu) in the town about 4 miles away. All in all a great 10-day stay in County Clare.

Beautiful idyllic Irish country cottage!
We stayed a second time at this wonderful place in late May 2017. It's hard to imagine a setting more idyllic and serene, yet close to such amazing places like the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, and the pub/music scene in Doolin. The house itself is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Jim and Marie are very responsive to any requests/needs. Once again, highly recommended!

From Limerick or Shannon Airport, take the M18 to Ennis, then the N85 NW to Lahinch. At lahinch, turn right for Liscannor. Drive past the golf course, over the bridge, swing left and take the right turn approx. 250 mtrs after the bridge. After 200 mtrs this road swings right, with a minor road left, up the hill. Take the minor road, up the hill and the house is about 800 mtrs up, a white house on the left.
