About Jason McClure

We are the McClure Family. We live in Santa Rosa which is in Northern California. Jason is a bi vocational youth pastor and project manager for a construction company. Amy works full time at home teaching our four kids and running the house. We are able to get to our home is Eagle Crest a couple times a year.

Jason McClure purchased this house in 2001

Why Jason McClure chose Central Oregon

I built this house in 2001 when we lived in Gresham. Our intent for the house was to use it as a small retreat / getaway, however we ended up moving to Hawaii in 2002 and then to Northern California in 2005. We kept the house because we have family still in Gresham and we like to get away to visit and relax. Eagle Crest is a great place for kids with lots of fun activity.

What makes this house unique

The best thing about the house is the relaxing, restful atmosphere. Letting the kids explore in a safe environment and having the option to head to the pool or spray park to play some more.

Very nice home for large groups, it was just what we needed.

Great home, overall very good experience. I am sure it is hard to keep ping pong paddles in good shape but they were a bit rough to work with. the spaces were very open and the kitchen worked out great. thank you.

Owner's Response: Thanks For staying David. I'll check out those paddles. I know people can be prey tough on them.

Perfect home for a reunion of high school friends

  • 4 of 5

Thank you for sharing your home with us. The perfect layout for what we needed. Nice to have everything on one level. We enjoyed the evenings on the porch with the local deer grazing. We'd certainly not hesitate to come back.

A few housekeeping issues to address. We only had 1 garbage bag and had to buy some. We didn't want to dump raw garbage in the bins. The Jack and Jill bathroom had no soap and the plate behind the faucet in the shower is loose from the wall and water is leaking behind it. Shower had mold in it. The liquid soap in the other 2 showers appeared to be watered down. We also bought more dish soap for the kitchen. What we bought we took home with us. Floor in kitchen could use more attention. Pretty dirty. Ice maker wasn't working. One lamp in the master, the switch doesn't work, therefore couldn't use.

All in all, everything was enjoyable. Beds comfortable. It was great to have 2 joining family rooms, one with a TV and one without. Great idea.

Thank You again for having a great home for our group to share.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying, we would love to have you back. Sorry for the issues you had. Next time let me know, we are right next door and I can bring over whatever you need. I will have Maintainance address these asap, except the ice maker, there is not an ice maker in the freezer, just ice trays. Thanks!

Our time at the property was very good.

  • 4 of 5

The property was clean, neat, roomy and adequate for 14 people. We found the property as described. We enjoyed the snow and surrounding area. The young people enjoyed skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor, and sledding at a SnoPark. Some went snowmobiling as well. Great location.

Beautiful home with lots of room.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with another family for the State Volleyball Tournament. This was a wonderful home with tons of room for both our families to spend the weekend. The kids had fun on the ping pong and pool tables in the garage. There was plenty of room for both our families to kick back and enjoy for the weekend. I feel the description on the site was very accurate and the property was very well maintained. The owner was a phone call away and the next door neighbor, who I believe also helps with the home, was very nice and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect home for large groups

  • 5 of 5

There were ten of us having a bridge reunion. This home was PERFECT for us! We weren't even tripping over each other! The home is 3,000 sf all on one level. The five bedrooms with five queen beds accommodated our 5 couples very well. We brought 2 card tables for playing bridge. We were able to leave the card tables up in the huge great room for the entire stay. The dining room seats ten which was a bonus. We utilized the large deck, grilled steaks, watched deer and other wildlife. We were so busy we didn't get around to playing pool, ping pong or riding the bikes that are on site. We played the BEST EVER 18 hole putt putt course--laughed all the way around! We also played the Challenge golf course which was immaculately groomed. Our visit began September 12. The Pro Shop told us they have many tournaments after Labor Day which is why tee times were filled at the Ridge Course. Some of us played pickle ball, went for hikes, utilized the swimming pools in addition to playing golf. Nice to be able to use the activities provided by the Eagle Crest Resort. The 6 passes to the resort was all we needed as everyone didn't do the same thing at the same time. We have always had good food at Anthony's in Bend. We also went to some brew pubs in Redmond. The town of Sisters is a great place to visit--food at the saloon/old hotel on the corner on the main street is very good (not sure of the name). The owner of this home was terrific to work with! Our group all agreed that this was a terrific place to stay and would recommend this home.
