Christine purchased this apartment in 2010
We are a family of 4 and we spent a marvelous 6 days in Mrs Christine's appt in Venice. Very typical, well located (grocery store just 30 seconds away!), close to a vaporetto stop but really within walking distance to many of Venice's key attractions. The appartment is nicely decorated, cozy and welcoming, with all the amenities we could hope for. In August, Venice feels very hot but the 2 AC units provided made the appt very comfortable. Try the fried calamari place just across the street! Our kids loved it! Mrs Christine is very friendly and helpful; a perfect host! We recommend without any reservation. Thanks again Christine! Our stay was the perfect beginning to our first trip to Europe with our children.
The Martineau family (Pierre, Lysanne, Rémi & Gabriel)
We are a family of 4 with two teenagers. This apartment was perfect for us. Our son went in the small bedroom and our daughter took the pullout. The master bedroom is a very nice size. Air conditioning worked great, and we definitely needed it. The place is in really good condition, almost like new.
The location is Cannareggio is wonderful. It is not too far away from anything, but it is also not in the middle of maximum tourist crowds. The apartment is just off a main street with lots of restaurants and shops. We bought food at the grocery store for breakfast in the apartment a few times, and to stock the fridge with drinks and snacks. There is a street that runs parallel to the main street, I think called Misercordia, that has a lot of restaurants and bars frequented by locals. The apartment is very quiet even though the main street is very active.
We got lost every time we tried to walk to San Marco, but that is part of the fun of Venice. There is a vaporetto stop maybe two minutes from the apartment. We bought passes and hopped on and off the boats many times over two days. When we left for the train station, it was easy to take the vaporetto. It was also a short walk to Fondamente Nove to go to Murano.
Christine was very helpful during booking, and her friend met us at the appointed time when we arrived. We had a small mishap with the electricity during our stay, and Christine answered the phone late at night to tell us how to deal with it, which was not hard. If I could suggest anything it would be to provide written instructions for how to use the washer/dryer and dishwasher. At checkout, Christine came to get the key and we were on our way.
We were delighted with the place and would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Venice a little away from the craziness of San Marco.
Apartment was in a terrific location. Easy to access from the nearby Ca d'Oro boat stop. Many restaurants and cafe's nearby. I do not recommend eating at the restaurant (Pasqualitos?) right outside the apartment. Not very good food, prices or service. Apartment was a very good size for our family with 2 adults and 2 kids. There is also a Billa grocery market very nearby that stays open until 23:30. Internet in the apartment went out several times but all I had to was power reset the router and it came back on. I would definitely stay here again if we return to Venice.

My family and I (2 kids, ages 10 and 8) could not have been happier with this apartment. It is clean, modern, and charming, and the location is perfect.
Just as important was how accommodating Christine, the owner, was. She met us at the boat, walked us back to the apartment, and gave us a great rundown of Venice. Whenever I had a question, she was quick to respond with an answer.
If you find a better place in Venice, then congrats, you were very lucky.
We were received by Christine at the water bus stop, walked to the apartment and given all the information we needed. After hearing what we wished to do, she gave us a map with suggestions on places to visit and restaurants to eat at. The washing machine was waiting to be repaired and Christine invited us to her house to use her own machine. She gave us the phone numbers to reach her and if needed -her husband. She promptly responded to any email we sent her. It was raining at the time of departure. Christine brought plastic covers for our bags, walked us to the waterbus with umbrellas. We truly felt that we had a friend in Venice.
The apartment is exactly as described and in the photos. It is spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. It is just off the busy Strada Nuovo, but very quiet. There is so much to do all over Venice. Just ask Christine when you get there. There are games and movies in the apartment to keep children (and adults) occupied. There are plenty of restaurants closeby. We liked the "La Cantina" the best. It is about 2 minutes away towards Ca'd'oro.
